[Riley Adams]

After practically a month of friendship between the two, Riley most definitely could say he had found the most incredible kinship with Griff and Danny unlike what he had with Josh and Cobalt. Sure he loved them like they were his brothers and that was a bond he knew wouldn't break. But with Danny and Griff, there was something he felt that he thought got lost with Michael's absence.

He couldn't dwell on it too long since the friendship he had with the two men was just blossoming. It just wouldn't do to get all touchy-feely when everything was so fresh.

But it did make him comfortable enough to host a get together with just them two with a project in mind. Danny had offered to give them both sculpting lessons and Riley had been so eager the past few weeks. He barely contained his excitement as he drove up to Danny's apartment to help him with the supplies they would need.

They chattered excitedly about what they were gonna make while Riley drove over to Griff's to pick him up. The drive back to Riley's was filled with more excited chatter and once they were actually in the apartment, Riley ushered the two into his living room while he disappeared into the kitchen.

"Why don't you two set up on that table over there while I make us some lemonade?" He called out as he pulled out a bowl of lemons and a lemon squeezer, along with a tall jug and a stirrer. He made quick work of it and hurried to join his two friends with the icy cold lemonade and three tall plastic cups. "So, what should we do first?" Riley asked, his eagerness akin to that of a child.

It had been a long time since Danny had given sculpting lessons, and he was both nervous and thrilled that the men had taken him up on it. Riley had offered to host—which was probably for the best, considering Danny’s apartment wasn’t exactly big and horribly cluttered—and so Danny’s main goal had just been to get supplies. Lots of bricks of clay wrapped in plastic had been put in one of Danny’s recyclable bags (which were all the rage in Los Angeles), and he’d found his foldable pottery wheel and had gotten that ready too. Then there was string, to remove stuff from the pottery wheel, and some tarps to cover things to make sure that Riley’s apartment stayed clean. All in all, Danny realized in dismay, he’d gotten an awful lot of stuff. Oops.

Still, Riley didn’t seem to mind, and he was quite happy to chat with him on the way over to Riley’s apartment, talking about what they could make—mugs, sculptures, everything! Which reminded Danny that he’d finished the statuette for Griff, and he told Riley about it and had to learn back to look back to make sure he’d remembered it.

When they finally arrived at the apartment, he nodded to Riley’s suggestion. “Right!” he said happily. “C’mon, Griff. Let’s put these tarps down so we don’t get anything messy.” He started putting them over the kitchen table, then paused. “Oh! I forgot this.” And he dove into the bag to grab the statuette and offer it to him. “Here you go! I promised it for you, and here it is.” He smiled at him, then turned to Riley as he brought in the lemonade. “That looks great! Well…” He bit his lip and looked around. “We can just start with the clay, how about that? You can try making whatever you want that way. It’s fun!”

Griff had never ever been so excited to get his hands dirty before in his life. Knowing there were hidden germs in mud, he was a gentle gardener, the kind that wore gloves and worried that he'd get a terrible infection if a piece of dirt got into a cuticle wound or a tiny scratch. But today, riding alongside Riley as he kindly picked him up, Griff wasn't even wondering if he'd get violently ill from inhaling clay dust or getting the stuff in his fingers. He chatted excitedly as they drove, and he was kind of excited to get to Riley's house. He could tell more about his wonderful friend if he was in his home.

Griff was wearing clothes he had no bother with getting dirty. If anything, he was slightly embarrassed not to be wearing smart suit pants and a shirt, but there was no reason for it. The t-shirt was friendly, with a big smiley face and a nice red background. His brother had bought it on a whim a few years ago as a present, and though it had a hole in the sleeve and a goat nibble mark on the bottom, he was fine with getting it dirty.

Helping set the tarps down, Griff hummed to himself and then sharply looked up. "Danny!" He exclaimed, looking touched and surprised at the same time. He cupped the statuette in his hands and ran a finger over it, then flushed. "Really, it looks just like Gladys." He said nervously, taking it and moving to set it in his bag, not wanting to break the lovingly crafted item. He perked at the thought of lemonade, and happily took the glass. "I'd uh... like to learn how to make a tea set eventually." He said sheepishly, sipping the lemonade.

Unaware of the exchange between Danny and Griff, Riley poured the lemonade for the other two and then rolled up his sleeves before setting up his own workstation with a brick of clay and some water.

"You add a bit of water to the clay to soften it right?" Riley looked at Danny expectantly. A blush formed on his cheeks as he laughed in embarrasment. "I'm only going on what I've seen on shows. Please tell me if I'm doing it right." He chuckled and softened the clay with water.

He slowly flattened the soft clay, already having an idea of what to make. "Does it take long to harden back?" Riley asked, eyeing the pottery wheel as he did so. He didn't think he would touch that just yet.

"That's a neat idea, Griff." He offered the Welsh man a small smile.

Danny wasn’t dressed much more neatly than Griff was—he was in a plain t-shirt that had a badly-painted smiley face on it, a pair of jeans, and a pair of glasses that had even been taped together in the center. They weren’t as strong as the prescription he had right now, but they worked well enough for fun sculpting, and this way it didn’t matter if he got clay on them (because Danny may or may not have been secretly hoping for all of the men to start throwing clay at each other). He knew this was pretty casual, but…a boy could hope, couldn’t he?

He seemed really flattered by Griff’s reaction, and smiled at the other man shyly, jamming his hands into his pockets. “I’m glad you like it,” he admitted, a little sheepishly as he lifted one hand to adjust his glasses. “If you want, I can wrap it up for you once we’re done with some of the tarp. But I can teach you how to make a tea set! No problem!” He grinned at him. “But it’s just not gonna take one night for that. Pottery wheels take a while to get.” Danny liked it, but it definitely wasn’t a very easy thing to get. “Um. So yeah. The first thing we’re going to want to do is water it and our hands, yeah.” He nodded. “And I bake it later in an oven. I figured that’d be better than air dry stuff, ‘cause that way we can remake it.” He hoped they wouldn’t mind. “Griff, you want to start with me on the pottery wheel, or do you want to try something else first instead? Riley, you’re gonna want to flatten it and you can start making stuff! There’s tools in the bag. Do you have something in mind already?”

Danny was in full teacher-mode. Riley and Griff might want to be concerned.

Surrounded by attractive men, delicious lemonade and clay, Griff vaguely wondered if today could get much better. Maybe a cure for dementia, a kiss if he was so lucky and a back rub and yes, this would be the best day of his life. But for now he was happy to hover around drinking the absolutely gorgeous lemonade and swoon at how Danny had made the most beautiful little gift for him ever.

"What are you going to make?" He asked Riley curiously as he watered his hands as instructed, a complete novice to the whole thing. "I'd love to start on the pottery wheel." He added, suddenly colouring with images of the famous pottery scene from Ghost. He didn't think Danny would be quite so handsy, but in honesty he wouldn't really mind since both he and Riley weren't at the back of the queue when the looks were given out. The doctor looked up at Danny with a big grin, then snapped his wet fingers. "Ah! I brought welsh cakes over. For a snack later." He thumbed over at his bag. "It's nothing compared to your baking, Riley, but I ... wanted to thank you both. For setting this up."

Smiling honestly, he sat down at the potters wheel and stared at Danny ready for an instruction. "Maybe Riley can volunteer to be our first aid model." He chuckled softly, taking a piece of clay for himself and touching it curiously. It felt soft and pliable, and oddly cool to the touch. "We can bandage him up and practice CPR on him." Griff paused at that, and went a shade of crimson, suddenly becoming deeply interested in the clay.

As Danny started laying out the verbal instructions, Riley's lips curved into a smile as he too thought of the sculpting scene in Ghost as his hands made quick work of flattening the clay, as per Danny's suggestion. It wasn't any different than his gardening besides the color and texture so he didn't find it too difficult to play with, thankfully.

When Griff asked Riley what he was going to do, the gentle giant looked up with glazed eyes and a dreamy smile, suddenly realising he was in a room with two men who obviously weren't yet privy to Riley's deepest thoughts. The bubble of memory from when Michael used to look over his shoulder when they were in the dark room while Riley developed his photos burst and left Riley with a deep longing to capture that moment once more.

"Mmm," he murmured distractedly before realising he hadn't yet answered Griff's question. "Oh." He chuckled in embarrassment. "Maybe a candle holder? I was thinking of making little cut out shapes around so the light can cast shadows on the wall." It was true, the man was a romantic. It didn't take a mind reader to know that.

Then Riley chuckled once more before turning to look at the pair who were starting up at the pottery wheel. "What about you two?" He asked, the smile still intact. He shook his head in modest earnesty when Griff mentioned his own proclivity in baking. "Griff, both of us have been to your house and eaten your food. You can't quite possibly say that without knowing your cooking can best me at any turn." He smiled, grazing his knuckle against Griff's bearded jaw.

When Griff spoke of Riley being a first aid model, the landscaper, not at all informed of a previous conversation the pair had had, blushed and tilted his head in question. "What are you talking about?" he asked with a small shy grin. He felt like he had walked in on an inside joke and didn't want to intrude on that intimacy.

"Oh my." Riley bit his lower lip to find a smudge of clay on the doctor's jaw when he had touched Griff's chin earlier. "I'm so sorry." He laughed lightly before trying to find a cloth to wipe away the stain.

Danny liked the idea of a candle holder, although he did wonder what had happened to give Riley’s face such a dreamy expression at first. It seemed odd, and a little off. He hoped he was all right. “That’d be wonderful! You should. And they’re not too hard to make, either.” Danny had done a couple of candle holders before. Actually, he’d made a decorative menorah for his parents once, to prove that he could do something fairly useful with his art degree. They seemed to have liked it. “You should. It’ll be great.”

However, Griff’s suggestion to start at the pottery wheel also had him thinking about Ghost. Which was silly, he knew. They were just friends, and it wasn’t going to get…like that. But he found he was blushing anyways.

The cakes were a good distraction. “They look delicious!” he said, coming to look over Griff’s shoulder at the cakes. “Thank you!” He smiled slightly as Riley touched Griff’s cheek, and backed off a little to set up the pottery wheel—first with a lump of clay, a piece of string, and a cup of water for getting the clay wet. He moved to the side when Griff settled down at the wheel, then came to stand behind him. He grinned as Griff brought up the promised first aid and CPR lessons, and then had to resist the urge to giggle and blush at the idea. Well, he didn’t giggle, but the man was definitely looking a little pink.

“Griff and I were talking a while ago,” he explained, “and I said I’d give him sculpting lessons in return for some first aid and CPR stuff. Maybe he could teach us both!” And they could take turns being the CPR—no. No, he wasn’t going to go there. He mentally slapped himself and told himself to behave.

“Oh, Griff!” He spotted the clay and laughed, then pulled a cloth from his bag that he used to wipe off the pottery wheel and dabbed at the clay on his chin. “There we go! Now, all you have to do is sit at the wheel and start pushing up and down on that peddle.” He pointed to it. “That starts it spinning.” He smiled at them, then picked up a piece of clay himself and eyed it.

“I don’t know what to make,” he admitted. “I’m going to have to think about this a little…” He had one idea, but it would take a while...

Griff was suddenly both attractive men's focus of attention and he was getting ever so hot and red with Riley and Danny all around him. He busied himself with downing nearly the entire remaining glass of lemonade before replying to Riley. "Like for romantic candlelit dinners?" He teased, grinning lopsidedly as he began to push the pedal with his foot rhythmically. He ran his thumbs ever so gently over the top of the clay, almost experimentally, before looking over at Danny.

"I'd love to teach both of you. I mean, I know Riley has his power, but..." He trailed off, comfortably shifting in the seat. "It's still a useful skill to have." He agreed, scrubbing his chin in automatic bashfulness, and smearing more clay everywhere. "Ah... I'm going to be covered in clay by the end of this." He chuckled, shaking his head and concentrating on running his thumbs tenderly over the top of the clay, looking to Danny for approval. "Like this, yeah?"

When Danny admitted he didn't know what to make, Griff frowned. "I'm sure whatever it is will be great. You have skilled hands." He trailed off, realising there was double meaning in that sentence and wishing he had lemonade to pretend to be interested in. Still, the pot was starting to look pot-shaped, and the doctor looked so excited and pleased with himself that he accidentally jabbed his thumb in the wrong place, and the pot flopped sadly in the center. "Oh." He said, trying not to look too crestfallen.

To cheer himself up, he decided a little clay retribution was needed, and subtly dipped his hands in the water once more, loading his fingers with damp clay, before flicking it over at Riley. The resulting splatter sound was extremely satisfying, albeit extremely childish, and Griff went wide eyed, and thumbed at Danny.

"Danny! Don't flick clay at poor Riley!" He exclaimed, trying to look the picture of innocence as he moved to try and repair his lopsided pot. Gosh these two men just brought out his playful side, which, Griff dimly noted, he hadn't had much of since his mother's diagnosis those years ago.

While he pretended to fix his pot, he threw a tiny bit of the clay at Danny's butt, then whistled to himself, the picture of short welsh innocence.

Riley nodded at Danny before laughing at Griff's suggestion. "That would be thrilling, having a romantic candlelit dinner by myself. Or maybe with my sister, Janice." The idea amused Riley, having a candlelit dinner with Janie. She would so appreciate the dim lights hurting her eyes.

"I think CPR lessons would do me wonders. I mean, I can only heal plants and on occasion animals so I think knowing how to perform CPR on someone would be very useful," Riley smiled, unaware of any double meanings to any part of this conversation.

Without hesitation, Riley nodded at Griff's statement about Danny having skilled hands. "Anyone who can make models like you do has to have magic hands." Playfully, Riley wiggled his clay caked hands to illustrate 'magic hands' and laughed at the ridiculousness of his actions.

The blob of wet clay that hit Riley surprised the landscaper and he immediately looked to Danny with parted lips. "Danny, that is so not nice." He said, already grinning as he lifted one finger and smeared it down Danny's cheek. "There. Now we're all clayed up." He chuckled before turning to Griff just as the Welsh man flicked some clay over at Danny.

His smile grew. "Oh Griff," he called out in a singsong voice before patting Griff's forehead with his clay filled hand. The finger imprints on Griff's forehead made Riley snorted. "Whoops."

“Aw, but Riley, I’m sure you could have a romantic dinner with someone!” Danny exclaimed. He couldn’t picture Riley not getting a date. He was handsome, wonderfully charming and friendly and caring, and he could cook. What sane man wouldn’t be interested? Even he himself…or maybe Griff…

No. He wasn’t going down that line of thought, nuh uh.

“I forgot about your powers,” he told Riley as he turned back to Griff and his pot. “So see, Griff? It’d still be useful to know. I want to learn! But you’re picking up the wheel very quick. I couldn’t even…” He trailed off at Griff and Riley’s comments and blushed a furious red, pushing up his glasses. “Thank you,” he mumbled. “It’s all about tools, really. And lots and lots of precise measurements. You could probably do it, Riley. Or you, Griff. That can be other lessons. Oh dear.” The pot had just deflated, and Danny looked at it with just as much dismay as Griff. “Well,” he said brightly, “that’s why you always try aga—Griff!”

He watched as the man threw clay, and then his eyes widened as Griff blamed it on him. “H-hey!” He tried to protest, but he couldn’t help laughing too. “It wasn’t…R-riley!” He was blushing again as the man put clay on his cheek, and in retribution he stood on tip-toe to pat Riley’s own cheeks with his clay-covered hands, leaving two handprints on the side of the bigger man’s face. “There.” He jumped a little as Griff threw clay at him, then spun around to look down where he had gotten hit.

“Oh, you’re in trouble now!” He grinned, fetched some more clay and tossed it at Griff so it landed in his hair. “Ha!”

Well, he had wanted a clay fight, hadn’t he?

Had Griff known his little clay throwing would escalate so quickly, he might have hesitated to start it. But now he was slightly covered in clay and was laughing, even feeling a little wet in the eye from his body heaving with chuckles. "Well, if we're all going to start throwing clay around." He said with a menacing grin, taking a handful of his ruined pot and throwing it wholeheartedly at Riley's thigh.

Deciding not to sit around and make himself an easy target, the doctor leapt up from the potters wheel and used Danny as a human shield, ducking behind him. Of course, this would have been acceptable if the man hadn't just dropped a lump of clay down the model maker's t-shirt.

He dived for cover over the other side of the table, then popped up triumphantly. "I'm telling you right now that I'm going to win this." He laughed, face lit up. "Because I have to deal with nephews." He nodded, then ducked back down again, trying to wipe some of the clay off his face. It seemed to be pretty deeply crusted on, so he gave up pretty quick and instead plotted his next move. Crawling down and hoping the two men wouldn't notice, he sprung up and pounced on Riley's shoulders, laughing and smudging a finger under his nose.

He did pause and blush a bit at the close proximity, then dropped away. "Told you I'd win!" Griff posed, making himself a target.

Riley simply shrugged at Danny's remark. After his breakup with Stephen, romantic dinners were the last thing on his mind. He chuckled at the absurdity of finding someone at his age now who actually didn't mind that he baked for an army when upset. Completely unaware of Danny's thoughts, he dropped the subject and smiled politely when Danny revealed his forgetting of Riley's powers. It wasn't a big deal at alll and Riley was more than willing to let it slide.

The prospect of 'other lessons' excited Riley unreasonably so. Clearly, it wasn't just the opportunity to learn new things but who he would be learning from. And with. Riley tried to ignore all the feeelings cropping up when the clay fight escalated and he found himself being touched on the cheeks with cold clay-covered hands. It sent pleasant shivers down his spine.

He laughed when Griff and Danny started to throw more clay around. Naturally, he had to join in. Griff's boastful remark had Riley scooping up enough clay in his hands before running in his direction, only to lose him under the table. "Oh Griff," Riley called out but got no further when he was attacked from behind. "Oof!" The tall man slumped forward until Griff dropped down.

With a smile, he turned and Riley slapped the mushed up clay from before on Griff's cheek. "How unfortunate," he ducked his head before turning to Danny. "You're not getting off that easily." He shook his head with an easy grin before chasing the bespectacled man and ruffling his hair with clay encrusted hands. He looked around at the damage caused and laughed. "I have never seen this house so dirty before!" He exclaimed, clearly amused by the sight.

Wow, this really had escalated. Danny only had time to blink for a moment before everything seemed to be covered in clay. Or clay was just flying everywhere. He couldn’t tell, but it was fun! Griff was hiding behind him, and he tried to spin to look at him, only to jump and yelp as a cold slimy thing went down his back.

“Hey!” He lunged after Griff and managed to get some clay into the other man’s hair before he dived under the table. He was still laughing, though. “Griff!” He spun as Griff ended up on Riley’s back and laughed as he ended up down level with him, slapping a bit of clay onto his chest and smearing it around a little, just for good measure.

“There,” he said. “I feel better now. Uh oh!” Danny managed to keep ahead of Riley for a while before the other man managed to get him and rubbed clay in his hair. He was laughing so hard by now that he couldn’t even manage a protest, doubled over with his hands propped on his knees. However, Riley’s comment did make him get a little more serious, even though he did tend to giggle a little in the middle of his reassurances.

“It…washes out, I swear,” he gasped. “And I’m gonna…get you for that.” He grinned at Riley, then at Griff, and took off his glasses to examine the clay covering them with some dismay. Then he shrugged, grinned and put them back on, straightening up. He couldn’t help himself. He just wanted to beam at the entire world, and all because he’d held a clay fight with two men. “Look at us! We’ll…” He was still giggling. Oops. “We’ll probably scare all the neighbors. We look like the creatures from the Black Lagoon.”

Griff did blush a little after he was coated with clay, and chewed his lip at the mess. "Well..." He began, looking around at the mess. "I can get cleaning up after we're done making things... if there's any clay left." He chuckled, running a hand through his hair and pulling a lump of clay out of it. Seems like he had clay everywhere. Even in places he didn't think he had. Wedging a little fleck of clay out of his nose, he cleared his throat.

"And... um. Maybe I could borrow the shower, if you would be so kind." He added shyly, gesturing at his powdery grey hair, covered in drying clay. "I was sort of hoping I wouldn't go grey." He added with a chuckle, before sitting down at the potters wheel, the picture of innocence once more.

All of the touching between the three of them had seemed oddly natural, and Griff couldn't help but wish that it could happen more often. Danny's laugh was wonderful, and Riley was smiling so much, he just wanted to keep that going, even if it meant being coated in clay. Wiggling his fingers, he hastily scrubbed at his cheeks. "I don't know what came over me." He added with a humoured chuckle. "You two bring out the worst in me, I swear."

Pausing, he looked down at the clay again. "Maybe we could all have a candlelit dinner. Together, I mean." Insert deep bright blush here. "Riley can do the dessert, I can do the main and you could do the starter." Griff explained to Danny. "Then I can try some of that lovely soup you mentioned."

Not to say anything about how lovely it would be to spend more time, maybe slightly romantical time with both men.
