A weeks worth of planning was coming down to this. Cole had no girlfriend, which meant no attachments. This in turn meant it was time to get crazy and have his house warming party, or rather a party to break-in his new pad. Monday, he'd called his boss and been given the O.K. to not work tonight. Then right after that had called his landlord, who gave him the go ahead to host the party, which by their agreement was open the the entire complex. This worked out great beacuae the complex itself was occupied almost completely by Hammel and College students and some girls and boys who'd just graduated from High School and gotten out on their own.
Whether people showed up or not, Cole needn't worry about noise complaints. The few who had confirmed their presence, Cole knew from school, and a few of the girls in the complex had already gave him a firm "yes" to them showing up too. His boss had only agreed to this on the stipualtion of all driving guests turning in their car keys so that they could not leave. Cole was damn lucky to have chosen this apartment and it have young occupants and a younger-than-usual landlord.
He looked in the back seat of his truck. His good friend at the University knew some poeple who were old enough and they'd been cool enough to buy all the beer with Cole footing the bill. It made sense, it being his party, afterall. He looked to the passenger seat. Jalen sat relaxed, looking out the window. His mind flashed back to the night at they'd hung out at the club. She'd helped him get over the big break-up, then knocked out his ex-girlfriend who'd followed him to Vermont. "You ready for this big of a party, Jay?" He asked as they sped toward his apartment.
