“That’ll be $69.95 please,” said the blonde from behind the counter as she swiped the last of Ethan’s purchases, putting them in a bag as the boy took his credit card out of his pocket. It’s quite the total, and being a supposedly responsible young adult that Ethan is, he normally would not spend that much in one store. And considering the number of bags he already has around his feet, it would only mean that he’s already spent about a hundred dollars’ worth of goodies. And it’s not even noon.
But it’s Christmas. He’s doing his mom’s (for his numerous cousins, nephews and nieces), his fraternity’s (some thank you gifts for their sponsors and such) and his own Christmas shopping. Not to mention it’s the second weekend of the month so he has to do some grocery shopping to refill their frathouse’s pantry. (And yes, they did give him money beforehand this time, thank god). Oh life.
Putting his wallet back to his pocket, he bent over to grab his previous purchases and just now noticed that he barely have enough hands to carry them all anymore. And they still have to go to a few more shops. While he was rather thankful that he had the initiative to drag a friend along as his trusty sidekick, he’s mentally slapping his face for his choice. Of all the guys he can grab, why did he have to choose him?
“Braxton Carson!” he shouted with obvious exasperation, giving the boy a disappointed look, “Could you please leave your banana muffin for a bit and help me? I only have two arms you know.” His eyes widened to show how urgent his need is. “And seriously, lay off the flirting with the attendants. They’re obviously not interested bro,” he whispered when the boy finally approached him, laughing slightly as he stuck his tongue out.
“Let’s load these stuff up first in my car then come back later. I don’t think it’s fun bringing all these while we walk.”
