Flu Event: Party Animal (Victoire)

Tree was dying. Probably. The college student had wrapped herself up her old velverteen green coat that was resevered strictly for days when she was behaving, as her brothers and friends had come to call it, like a fragile buttercup, and was sitting at one of Kindness's outside tables with a coffee.

And she was very likely dying. Even though spring had only just sprung and it wasn't particularly sunny outside Tree wore a pair of over large sunglasses because it was inhuman how much her head hurt. And she wasn't even hung over. It wasn't fair.

Slightly yellow stained fingers pulled out a pinch of tabacco and laid it out in a line along the crease of the little paper, and Tree tucked her fingers in and rolled. Her hands were a little shakey because it was /really/ chilly, in a 'my body hates me and wants me to suffer' sort of way.

It was weird not having someone with her, and Tree looked around from behind her glasses and slightly pouty expression to see if there was someone she knew who could join her.

Fragile buttercups shouldn't need to drink coffee all by themselves, especially if they were most likely dying. Probably.

For Victoire's purposes, Kindness Cafe is rather useless. Just ANOTHER coffee shop near her work, and it didn't even have the best coffee, though it wasn't as if she was from Seattle or anything. There were only two good things about this place. One, it was kindly- heh, see what I did there?- out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the regular nightly club life of the area, and two, it did have amazing pastries. It was Victoire's little local bakery.

Today the key reason Victoire was headed in its direction was to dodge the crowds. It wasn't as if she didn't like people, she was a city person, but today just wasn't a talk-to-everyone type of day. She entered the building through a, guess what, glass door. And no, it wasn't green¹. Without noticing any particular person she went up to the counter to order a white peppermint mocha and some marble pound cake. Yeah, she was spoiling herself a tiny bit today, at least for a student. But last night had been a nicely tipping service, so she was just rewarding herself.

Victoire spotted a poor soul sitting near the window, outside. She could recognize that coat from anywhere. Why? Because it was so strange to see it being worn. It meant her friend was behaving of all things. In addition, her friend, Tree was her name, was here at this almost childish shop. Her posture and demeanor today was evident of someone rather depressed. Well, I suppose Victoire found it virtually her duty to go and join her.

She came from behind Tree with snacks in hand. She went ahead and sat down across from Tree. "Heya," Victoire greeted. Now that she could see her friend directly, Victoire could clearly tell the body language wasn't just happenchance. Tree had that hazed look everyone sick or tired had. And yet, here Tree was, rolling up some tobacco. The doctor side of Victoire had a strong desire to tell her friend off but that part of her was dwarfed by her sense of individual freedom and enjoyment of the other, but more dangerous, drugs Tree used. Yeah, kind of hypocritical, bite her.

"Been partying a little too hard lately, huh Tree?" Victoire commented with a smirk. She unwrapped her cake and took a quick sip of her mocha, getting that lip of cream which she quickly wiped off with a napkin, you never know when a cute guy was walking by. Still too hot though. Victoire nibbled at her cake.

"Want some?" Victoire tore off a piece and offered it to Tree. She was careful not to share any food with Tree today in case she was legitimately sick but it doesn't mean she can't be a nice friend.

Tree's face lit up and she offered a sleepy grin. "Hi Vee," she said happily, flicking on her lighter and inhaling until the end of her cigarette smoldered cheerily. "Sit, sit, sit." With one foot she pushed the chair opposite her out pointedly, then spooned sugar into her long black.

No milk with a congested chest/throat/everything.

The college student pulled a sad face and rolled her eyes. "No," she muttered, then held up her arms, "Coat, Vee. This is clearly not my come down coat. That one is red. Unless it's from acid. Then it's... another sort of red, actually." Taking the cake offered, Tree munched on it thoughtfully. "I," she started, once she had finished most of her mouthful, "have the flu, and it is the worst thing. The worst thing, Vee. Did you know you can't even drink on the medication?"

Sighing and taking another drag, considerately blowing the smoke off to the side to avoid getting it in Vee's face. She sighed restlessly, and not a little listlessly, and lent back in her chair. "I've been in bed all day watching Doctor Who," she sighed, "Not even Billie Piper can get my mind off the fact that my body has started to hate me."

Its funny how just one thing can get you right attached to another person. Tree calling her 'Vee' was one of those dumb things. See, Victoire had gained a bunch of nicknames in her time, as pretty much anyone does, but it was strange, no one stuck with just 'V.' Maybe it was too simple for everyone? Nah, that couldn't be it, 'everyone' is usually quite a dumb person.

Victoire coughed as a mere touch of smoke made its way over to her from Tree's cigarette. She couldn't help but give her friend a slightly irritated look. Drugs she could understand, for fun, but the rationalization of smoking was beyond her. Just why would anyone want to kill their lungs and have terrible breathe for little reward? At least now Tree was aiming the smoke away from her. Still, she really should tell her off... But not right now, not while Tree is all hazy from being sick. Although... Couldn't the smoking be causing the sickness. Oh hell, what did she know, she wasn't a doctor.

She couldn't help but laugh when Tree treated her like a child when Victoire didn't know what her coat meant. "Right!" Victoire said as if she just remembered what coat colors meant. "What do yellow and blue mean, again?" Now she was just toying with Tree, Victoire wasn't even sure if Tree had yellow or blue coats.

"Oh, I know that you can't drink on the meds," Victoire commented. "Its almost like I'm trying to be a doctor or something!" She rolled her eyes and smirked. Tree knew what Victoire was studying. Victoire took a bite of her own cake. Fresh today.

Tree apparently was taking today as a rant day as she whined to Victoire. It was alright though, Victoire could handle being a shoulder to lean on everyonce and awhile. "You need a boyfriend," She stated, knowing that Tree would likely have a sarcastic retort. "to fawn over you when you're all sick... Actually that might be cute, Tree Roxenbourge all docile, in love"

Victoire scoffed herself and laughed again. "Nah, you're way too awesome to ever become that docile"
