Friday Night Club Lights - Ella tags Jake

Finally Friday was here.

Ella was ready to crash and burn on the couch with Cali curled up in her arms. Maybe with a steaming mug of hot cocoa by her side and some Robert de Niro goodness in the DVD player with her all decked in her comfortable blue piglet sweatpants and lacy tank top. Standard Friday night.

But one call from a friend was more than enough for Ella to freshen herself up, jug down a can of soda and climb into a red and black strap dress with a zippered back and black patented pumps that made her an inch taller than her already lanky frame.

Without much embellishments other than a thin layer of makeup and teasing her hair down in waves, Ella was ready for a night out with some girls she went to the gym with.

It wasn't a long walk to the club where her friends were waiting for her and even before they entered the club, the dull bass beats already had Ella swaying. "I'll get the drinks." Ella offered and took orders before making her way over to the bar, noticing a dark blonde man looking her way. Well, several dark blonde, dark haired, light blonde haired men were looking her way but Ella's eyes caught only one of them.

Looking away just long enough to order for herself and her girlfriends, she threw the man a smile, feeling the sudden tingle of her powers activating. She knew Pilot Ridge had a bigger than average amount of metas which was why she didn't panic so much.

She joined her friends after being promised that their drinks would come later. And as she danced with her friends, her eyes kept going back to the man, intrigue filling the twenty-seven year old.

It had been a rough few months for Jake.

He’d spent a lot of the time just driving for the sake of it. There was no place he could go in particular, so he’d drive aimlessly until he got tired, find the nearest motel to crash in, gave fake names and paid cash, then started it all over again the next day. Of course he made sure that the motels were pet friendly and he took the dogs for their daily walks and played with them when they got antsy from being in the car too long, but eventually he realized he couldn’t keep this up.

After putting a couple thousand more miles on his car, he found himself heading back to Vermont, back to Pilot Ridge. He’d had his ear to the ground, but he never caught any substantial information as to the current state of M.S.A.D. or Hammel for that matter. He also didn’t bother to use his old contacts, he didn’t need to bring that kind of attention down on himself.

When he returned, he was relieved to see that nothing much had changed. Sure, the atmosphere was different, there was tension in the air, but that was something Jake had grown used to dealing with. He had a pretty foolhardy way of doing it, though.

He put his dogs up for the night, bought himself a new outfit (jeans and a fitted button-down shirt), and headed out to one of his old haunts. It was a familiar scene and the pounding music in his ears faded to a dull throb once he’d emptied a couple bottles of beer.

His eye was caught by the shapely woman in the red dress, or more specifically, those legs that seemed to go on for miles. He grinned at her as she walked passed him to the bar, then focused more on the movement of her hips as she retreated back to her group of friends.

He waited about a song’s length before he moved casually towards her, noticing how she kept looking over at him, and how they’d made eye contact a couple times. He made his way behind her, bowing his head and said lowly in her ear, “Care to dance?”

One by one, her friends were picked up. Curse of having prettier friends, Ella thought to herself. She wasn't worried though. The night was still young and she had her drink in hand. A strong one at that. So left to her own devices, Ella continued moving to the uptempo beat.

The song ended and she was about to leave the dancec floor when she felt hot breath against her ear. Turning to face the one responsible, a small grin quirked at the corner of her lips. It was the man she had been eying the whole time. Damn, he looked good even up close.

"A man who asks permission first. That's new." Ella said, moving close to he could hear. He smelled of musk and something else she couldn't quite place. Her whole body tingled; she didn't know if it was their closeness or her powers were sensing something. The man didn't...seem dangerous. Then again...they never do around here.

With the music change, Ella shrugged and pulled him close, slowly moving against him. "New around here?" she asked. In her heels, she didn't have to tiptoe to whisper in his ear and that worked fine for her.

He caught the hint of a smile that crossed her face and responded by lifting his hands and letting them rest on her hips. "Really? Guess there's a shortage of gentlemen around here." Not that Jake was a gentleman, but it sounded good in his head. Jake just grinned, giving her an obvious once over. She looked damn good in that dress.

It might have been wrong to be here, but for a night, Jake wanted to forget. He didn't want to think about Gabriel, or Morgan, or anything that had happened. For a night, he wanted to forget his heartbreak and just live. So when she tugged him closer, he gladly went.

"I'm taking that as a yes. " He said with a laugh, moving with her. There was undoubtedly an undercurrent of attraction that he was following, but there was also something else about her that he couldn't quite place. "New? Well, yes and no." But that was a long story and not one that he would be divulging anytime soon.

"So, babe, what's your name?" Best to start with something simple and tame. "Unless you want me to call you awkward pet names all night. I can do that." He smirked.

"Quite," Ella smirked, shivering slightly at the contact. She threw her arms around his neck, gripping her glass tight so it doesn't spill. "Are you saying you're a gentleman, stranger?"

His lack of a straight answer told Ella not to dig any deeper. She preferred him not telling her anyhow. This was a club, it wasn't a confessional. She was here to wind down and not load up. So she was silently grateful he didn't say anything further.

"Babe?" She grinned, looking up into his blue eyes. Goddamn they were mesmerizing. Must be the vodka talking. But damnit those were some beautiful eyes. "I don't do pet names." She shook her head in amusement. "Ella. And what should I call you?" The music got slower and with a quick sip of the remainder of her drink, she caught one of the waitresses and left her glass with her.

Turning her back against her new dancing partner, Ella pulled his arms around her torso, letting it rest against her hips. "Or should I give you awkward pet names?" she grinned.

"I could be." Jake chuckled, flashing her one of his most charming smiles. "If that's what you're after." He wasn't about to cover up his intentions, having cast that aside month's ago. Seeing that he'd come here with a single purpose in mind, he didn't mind if he made it obvious. He brushed his thumbs over Ella's hips and met her eyes with a confident look.

Considering the way that she was pressing against him, Jake thought it was safe to assume she was playing the same game.

"Ella it is then." As she turned, his palms grazed over the small of her back and her lower stomach before they were pulled back to her shapely hips. He tipped his chin down and hmm'd in her ear. "You know, I'm rather fond of 'stud,' how's that sound?" There was do doubting that she could hear the grin in his voice. "Name's Jake, actually. And I think this is the part where I'm supposed to say 'nice to meet you' or something."

With another small laugh, he fell into the rhythm of the song with her, rather pleased with this find. "You look stunning in that dress, by the way." He was only about one drink away from saying something along the lines of how she'd look better out of it, but thankfully that didn't come spilling out... yet.

His smile was disarming to be sure but Ella knew better than to let him know she was easily affected. Guys in clubs don't need more of an ego boost than they already possess. This guy even less. He was way too good looking to be encouraged even further. "Oh hardly...gentlemen have scruples. And don't go to clubs like this and chat up girls who dress up like me." She smirked.

Ella's tapered fingers grazed the back of her dancing partner's neck, ghosting over it as his hand moved dangerously close to her tender spot. People usually didn't know where hers was unless they had been with her long. Paul knew it. And this man was close to finding it so she pulled his hand upwards slightly, stepping closer to him.

She chuckled at his answer and raised an eyebrow. "You would, wouldn't you?" Ella turned her face to the side and close to snorted at his comment. "Is it nice to meet me, Jake?" Ella looked back at Jake with her head tilted to the side, hair spilling down one side of her shoulder in tumbling waves. "Then I suppose it's nice to meet you too...or something."

With the song change, Ella could feel her shoes eating into her feet but she didn't quite mind at the moment. She looked up at Jake with an amused grin at his compliment. "But I'd look even better out of it, right?" Ella flipped her hair back purposely to expose her shoulder. "That what you're thinking...stud?" She smirked.

"Well, darlin," He drawled. "Even gentlemen have dirty little secrets." Ella was right for the most part, Jake had always been a rather confident man, though now it was more for show and less because he actually felt that way. He'd taken a few huge hits to his ego, but now wasn't the place or time to show it. Not when he had this gorgeous woman right in front of him.

He merely breathed a soft laugh as she repositioned his hands, making a note of that for later. "Oh it's veeerryy nice to meet you, Ella." Jake smirked, his focus somewhere on those luscious pouty lips. He was thinking of some other uses for those better than small talk when she said aloud the words that he'd been thinking. He was certainly no stranger to mind reading, but he couldn't help but to look a little surprised.

"How'd you know?" His eyes traveled along the line of her shoulder, bowing his head and breathing against her neck before bringing his mouth back up to her ear. "Am I that obvious?" He snorted. "I thought it would be better than 'nice legs, when do they open?'" Jake had always been rather cheesy, but even that was ridiculous for him. He was laughing as he pulled back, meeting her eyes again. "Or in other words, do you live close by?" Down boy.

Ella smirked at Jake's response and fuelled by the throbbing lights and the dull bass beats, the dark-haired recruiter slid a hand down to Jake's hips. "I can be dirty but I'm hardly little. And really Jake...do you really want to keep me a secret?"

She was indeed highly confident of her feminine wiles and after seventeen years of keeping her body fit and skin clean, she truly deserved to be. And the fact that this gorgeous specimen was paying attention to her just confirmed it.

Jake's surprise made Ella snicker and his following statement caused the girl to snort and laugh. It wasn't a pretty noise but she could not help it. "I happen to think that I would definitely look better without the dress and I do live close by." Every word got her closer and closer to Jake's lips before hers grazed his.

"Are you propositioning me, Jake?" She asked as she moved her lips close to his ear, blowing hot air against it. "Because it sounds like you are and I don't think you know what you're getting into."

Ella's words were all Jake needed to hear in order to know that he'd just bagged the best woman in the entire club. "That's up to you, Ella." He drew out her name purposely, looking thoughtful. "I doubt you'd appreciate me throwing you over my shoulder like a caveman... or would you?" He raised his eyebrows, lowering his head so that he was nearly eye-to-eye with her.

Jacob lifted a hand to cradle the back of her head, fingers threading through her lovely dark hair. "How about you prove it, then, and we go back to your place." The brush of her lips drew him in closer, though she was already moving away in the blink of an eye.

"I think I know exactly what I'm getting into and I think you want it just as bad." The confidence was every so apparent in his voice as he drew his fingers through Ella's hair. "So how about we drop the lip licking and eye batting and get to something a bit more intense." Jake was certainly no stranger to women like Ella, and he'd had his fair share of one night stands in his time, so there was no doubt in his mind that he could handle a fiesty young woman like her.

"Well," Ella kept their eyes locked as a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. "I don't think the authorities would look too kindly to an abduction. Even if it is just you going back to your caveman roots." She teased.

The man's hand had a very positive effect on Ella's, sending tingles down her spine and to her very sensitive areas. His words were more than enough to convince her that this guy was not the type to endanger her social lifestyle. And him looking like he just stepped off a GQ magazine did not hurt.

She tilted her head to the side as she considered his words carefully. Why yes, at this stage, she would have started to undress him if it weren't for the constraints of the public audience. "Do you have a car?"

Without word to her friends of her whereabouts, Ella slid one hand down to grasp Jake's and pulled him out of the pulsating lights and the dull beats. Even in the lit up walkway outside the club, the man was still gorgeous as ever. She had picked wisely. "You can bring your car over or we can walk. It's just up there." She pointed a tapered finger to the fifth building away from the dancing establishment.

She was a little woozy from the moving she had done with alcohol settling in her belly. She needed Jake to decide. Quick.

"Don't worry about that. I know how not to be seen." Yes, that was wise, Jake. Go ahead and allude to your criminal past and all your experience avoiding the authorities. Hopefully Ella won't catch onto that, but then again what woman hasn't had a "bad boy" fantasy? (I know I've had several. Shhh.)

As they made their way outside and Ella asked about his car, Jake could only grin. "Oh, just you wait and see." He pulled his keys out of his pocket, giving them a purposeful shake so they jingled rather loudly. To say that Jake was fond of his car was a bit of an understatement. But then again, boys do so enjoy their toys... especially when said toy is a Maserati. "I'll pull it up, just a minute." Thankfully he didn't park very far away at all, so it was only about a minute for him to start the car, turn on the lights, then pull around to the front of the club. If Ella wasn't impressed by the sleek, black GranTurismo, well, then Jake would probably pout.

Hopping out of the car, Jake moved to open the passenger side door for Ella. Aw, what a gentleman. "So... what do you think?" He chuckled, waiting for her to get in before closing the door for her. Back to his side of the car, he slid in and revved the engine. Show off? Yes, yes he's certainly trying. Not that he really needed to, I'm pretty sure he's already going to get what he wants.

Just for the hell of it, he peeled out as he took off, even though the building wasn't that far away. "Lucky you live so close."

Ella was beyond the coherence it took to understand full sentences let alone realise what it actually meant so if Jake was to voice out his worries, Ella would have laughed in his face and then proceed to forget what she was laughing about. Besides, the man's face was a little too distracting for her to comprehend his words beyond face value.

A smirk traced the recruiter's lips at the man's antics and leaned against the bar wall, crossing her legs around her shin as she waited for him. The night was progressing pretty well if she did say so herself, especially when the smooth purr of the sleek machine came into her earshot.

She couldn't let the man know that certain bodily fluids were functioning too well at the sight of the beautiful automobile so she kept her squeals to herself as he got out and opened the door for her. Another smirk graced her lips at his chivalry. Ella's hand was tracing the smooth exterior of the car door when Jake asked what she thought of the car.

"I hope this isn't an overcompensation." She said simply before climbing into the car, waiting for him to get in. His revving the engine made her chuckle in amusement. Crossing her legs, she adjusted herself in the seat so she could look at him as he drove. There was a certain swagger to a man handling a piece of beauty such as a sports car and Ella had front view to it. Lucky? Bloody hell yes.

She made quick work of the apartment door when they arrived and without much hesitation, she pulled Jake in by the collar of his shirt, toeing her heels and kicking them away.
