Weather outside is Frightful| Open

When Cal went to one of the clubs in town he liked to either sit at the bar or in a booth with his back to a corner where he could see all the doors. It was mostly because old habits die hard. In the corner he could watch the doors, look for whoever he was trailing, watch people, the like. The bar was good for interrogating people, bothering them, finding out what had been going on. But that wasn't his objective today as he slid into one of the seats and ordered a drink. No he was just going to have a nice time and maybe make a friend of two. The fact that he had been there almost a year and didn't really have any close friends. not that he was the close friends kind of guy most of the time sine his personality seemed to scare people off, but you couldn't fault him for wanting to try.

Of course, he wasn't here to actually drink. No, he'd save that for when he was safe in his own home and didn't have anything to worry about. So a coke would work just fine for him. He still had the train of thought that there was someone out for him, and that probably wouldn't go away, even though it had been three years. The man turned, his back against the counter so he could see everyone in there. The place was packed since it was cold, and made a good hangout. Early it had been snwing quite fiercely, so he was glad hee was inside and warm. Looking around he didn't really notice someone slide onto the stool next to him.

Kandi shivered as she strolled through the streets of the local club district. It was much quieter and less crowded than the Hollywood night clubs that she usually frequented. Everything about Pilot Ridge was smaller and quieter than Hollywood. The change in pace was welcomed, but would take some getting used to. It actually felt nice to have room to breathe for a change, though the lack of company made her feel a bit nervous. As the petite Japanese woman approached a small bar on the corner she made a mental note to look up the area's crime rate. Shaking off the nagging fear, Kandi opened the door and strolled in with confidence. As soon as she crossed the threshold, the warmth of the room surrounded her and chased away the chill in her bones. A few melted snowflakes formed droplets in her hair and on her lashes. The slower pace she could adjust to quickly, but the snow - the snow would take a lot of getting used to! With her outsides slowly defrosting, Kandi strolled to the bar with intent to warm up her insides as well.

She smiled at the bartender as she approached and delicately placed her brimmed hat on the counter before climbing up onto an empty barstool. Once she was securely perched, Kandi placed her order in a delicate but authoritative voice. "I'll have a flaming Dr. Pepper, please." As she waited, Kandi pulled at the sleeves of her plush, chocolate brown sweater. At the moment, she was grateful for its warmth and wishing she had picked a longer skirt. Fire flickered in her eyes as the barkeep lit the shot and dropped into the glass of awaiting beer. Kandi thanked the man and accepted the drink eagerly as he slid it toward her. Once the man was paid and Kandi was happily warming her hands around the thick glass, she turned to the gentleman beside her with a polite smile. "If this doesn't defrost me, I don't know what will!" With that said, Kandi downed the drink quickly and savored the warm, slow burn as it slid down her throat.

She seemed like a nice young woman, ordering her drink [which Cal had never heard of] and waiting patiently for it. Once she had it in hand she turned and talked to him, nice and sociable like. He grinned in his sort of haphazard way, knowing what she meant about the cold.

" Well, seeing as it's on fire I would definitely hope it warms you up." He replied to her. He'd never had a taste for such kinds of drinks himself really. Not for a while anyway. And nothing fancy like what she had. But that was her choice.

" I didn't think so many people would be out with it being so chilly. Snow is well and good but usually most people just prefer to stay home." Him included. Of course, there was always an exception to the rule and today seemed to be it.

Kandi's digits were defrosting nicely and her insides had lost the chill that shook her. The drink was the perfect mix of sweet and bite. Once her fingers felt like they had escaped frostbite, Kandi lifted them and wiped the melted snow off of her lashes. The gentleman's response caused her to chuckle softly. "A bit of blaze always does the trick." Not that Kandi had to deal with snow often, but it was something she had learned during her trips to the ski lodge with friends. Beer wasn't her usual choice, but combined with flamed Dr. Pepper, it was perfect.

Kandi drained the rest of the beer lingering at the bottom of the glass, then pushed it toward the barkeep. The bartender promptly and politely offered her another, but Kandi declined. One was always her limit when out on the town alone. Ugh. Alone. In response to the man's comment on the weather, Kandi's almond eyes flickered around the room. "It is quite packed" She eyed the crowd around them curiously before looking back at her conversation partner with a polite smile. "My excuse is boredom. I'm new to the area and simply not used to staying put for long." With a shrug, she pushed a few thick strands of hair out of her face. "How about you? What brought you out in this frosty weather?"
