Blame It On The Alcohol - Closed

It was damn near scorching in Ella's bedroom as she tried to find her phone to text Jake after a full night of Chloe cuddling. She had fallen into a pattern with the shadow manipulator and it was a pattern she did not like ruined.

I need you, Lawrence.

She sighed as her thumb hit send, flopping down on her bed in her red tank top and light blue underwear. She was literally in heat and she couldn't wait for her tall drink of water.

Ella's text came at a rather unfortunate time. Normally Jake would have been all up for a round with the gorgeous woman, but after the week he'd had, he didn't feel like doing much of anything. The fight in the grocery store and the confrontation with Cobalt had him feeling downright miserable.

Sorry, I can't make it tonight.

Jake frowned as he sent the reply. He did feel bad for turning her down, but this was the kind of mood that not even a romp between the sheets could fix.

Flipping her phone open, she slumped against the headboard of the bed before throwing the phone haphazardly. It bounced on the bed before clattering down to the wooden floorboard. She let out a frustrating growl and buried her face in her pillows. This won't do. This won't do at all. What was she supposed to do now, exactly? She had an itch, she needed to scratch it out and Jake was the safest person to do the scratching for her.

Now, well that plan had gone down the dump. Which left her with option number two. Less desirable and very dangerous. Bring Chloe out.

Less desirable mostly because Ella knew the consequences and she didn't want that on her conscience. But hell, if she didn't get what she wanted...

Rummaging through her closet, she finally rustled up a dress she thought would definitely get her noticed. Now on to phase two. Getting Chloe out.

Knocking on the bird caller's door, Ella pulled her hair up and wondered if she should let it down instead of tying it up. She figured she'd be perspiring a lot at the club and she wouldn't want her damp hair to clump up on her face and make her look utterly disastrous. Phase three underway.

When the door opened, Ella scooped her thick hair up and looked at Chloe. "Should I wear my hair up or down with this dress?"

Chloe was laying comfortably on her bed in her duckie print pajama shorts, nose in a book when she heard the knock on her door. "Coming!" She called as she grabbed for her bookmark and slid it in between the pages, rolling off her bed and practically skipping to open the door.

When she pulled it open, she smiled immediately at her roommate... until she got a good look at her. Chloe's eyes very obviously traveled up and down Ella's body multiple times, the smile faltering as her jaw dropped a little. She'd never seen Ella dressed like that before and it's easy to tell that yes, she's quite mesmerized.

She knew Ella had a great body and she knew that the other woman spent a lot of time at the gym, but to see it all on display like that left Chloe speechless. She hardly even realized that Ella had asked her a question, too focused on the bare patches of skin that the dress revealed. "Hu-huh?" Blinking rapidly, Chloe finally tore her attention away from Ella's figure and brought it back to her face, unaware that her cheeks were now a vibrant pink.

"Umm... I th-think up?" Chloe tangled her fingers in her oversize tank top, twisting the fabric around in her hands. She really hoped Ella wouldn't ask for a reason why, because Chloe had a feeling she wouldn't have been able to say anything other than the truth, which was that she just wanted to see more of her roomie, and that was probably a bad thing.

The reaction from her roommate was exactly what Ella was going for. Later, Ella would realise just how horrible she acted when she wanted something but for now, her goal was to get Chloe and get out of the house.

Chloe's response was replied with a nod. "Alright. Up it is. I'm going dancing. You should go too. I know there's that red dress you bought the other day that needs to breathe." Ella teased the blond, very much aware that she was breaking the very rule that made her and Jake's string of one night stands justifiable.

She was trying her very hardest not to stare at Ella, really she was, but her eyes seemed to have a mind of their own as they focused on the deep V neckline of the dress. Thankfully Ella's response was enough to distract her. "D-dancing? Okay... I'm not doing anything interesting anyways." Nothing near as interesting as Ella, that is.

"Give me just a mi-minute, okay?" Chloe smiled weakly, then shut her bedroom door, leaning against it and taking a few deep breaths. That was certainly a bad idea to agree to go with Ella, but she just had to calm down and remember that it was just as friends. They were just going to go out for a night, have a little fun, then stumble back home and everything would be normal in the morning. Yeah, that's the ticket. With that on her mind, she retrieved the dress of mention from her closet and wiggled her way into it. It wasn't nearly as revealing as Ella's dress, but it was much more night club appropriate than her normal uber girly attire.

Once dressed, Chloe opened the door again and walked out towards Ella. "Um, what do you think? It's not too short, is it?" She fidgeted a little with the hem of the dress, tugging it down a little to cover more of her legs. It was also rather obvious how she was trying very hard not to look at Ella.

"Yeah, dancing." Ella tried to pretend she didn't realise how much Chloe was staring. It wasn't as though she was trying so hard to be modest about anything. She nodded and leaned against the wall until Chloe went out and made her jaw drop.

"Holy shit, Chloe." The dark-haired recruiter grinned and played with the ruffles on the blonde's shoulder. "Damn girl. That dress is...you are...fuck." Ella let loose a curse with a strained chuckle and backed up to give the girl a full once over, not at all ashamed to be obvious about it.

"Come on. You're too hot to stay indoors." Ella grabbed Chloe's hand and dragged her out.

The club was already in full swing when they arrived and with two hot ladies linked to each other, they didn't have to wait too long until they were surrounded by guys trying to dance with them. Ella pulled Chloe close and purposely rubbed up against her. The guys around were entranced and Ella could have sworn she saw someone drooling at one point.

Chloe could only shuffle awkwardly under Ella's appraising stare. She had never really thought of herself as "sexy", so the compliments easily managed to turn her face the same color as her dress. "I... what?" She stammered, but never received an answer, just Ella dragging her out the door.

She felt rather out of place in the club, especially with the too-forward men that kept approaching her. To say she was relieved when Ella pulled her closer was an understatement. Chloe didn't seem to realize just how close they were until she slid her arms over Ella's shoulders. "You were... really eager to get out, weren't you?" She was trying to distract herself more than anything.

If it was hard for Chloe to keep her eyes off Ella before, it was impossible now. She couldn't help but to notice how how striking Ella's mismatched eyes were, or how soft her lips looked. It was enough to make her head spin. "Um, I think I need a drink first... or two." It would certainly help calm the butterflies in her stomach, if nothing else.

Ella felt Chloe's arms around her and she turned to face her dancing partner just as the question was posed. The recruiter laughed and nodded. "Gods yes. I couldn't stay cooped up in that humid apartment any longer." She responded, her voice a little louder to speak over the thumping dull bass beats.

"We could go somewhere else if you'd like!" Ella said just as Chloe excused herself. "Okay! I'll join you later!" She waved to Chloe and just as soon as the blonde left Ella's side, a good looking man stepped in and started rubbing up against Ella. Seeing that this was part of the reason why she was even outside, the power suppressor continued to dance, her eyes closed as she let the music move her.

She was so lost into the dancing that she didn't realise that the man was getting way too handsy on her. Although normally, she wouldn't have minded anyway. She just danced. Until she realised that Chloe had been gone a really long time. That was also when she realised that the man was starting to get really gross with her.

"What the fuck, dude. Get your stanky paws off me." Ella moved away from the guy.

Chloe was glad that Ella didn't seem too upset that she wanted to break away for a moment and she promised to be back just as soon as she got some alcohol in her. She found sanctuary at the bar, glaring at any rogue men that approached her. She wasn't here to get picked up, she was here at the behest of her friend, who she did feel bad for leaving, but she needed something to make her stop feeling so self conscious.

A couple of shots later, Chloe decided she was finally ready to return to the dance floor. Although finding Ella proved to be much more of a task than she had anticipated. As she wormed her way through the crowd, she scanned the faces for the only one that she would recognize. It seemed to take forever before she finally caught a glimpse of Ella, but it wasn't so much seeing Ella as it was seeing the man that was grabbing all over her that made her blood inexplicably boil. Before she knew what she was doing, she was storming her way over to the brunette and grabbing her around the waist, glaring at the offending man with surprising intensity. "Stop touching her you disgusting cretin!"

She led Ella away from him, then slid her arms around the woman's waist and pulled her close. "I'm sorry I took so long, I couldn't find you." Whether it was the alcohol working its way into her system, or just the burning jealousy she'd recently experience but couldn't explain, she found herself a little more steady around Ella. "Are you alright?" Chloe looked worried as she looked over her friend.

Things happened pretty fast but suddenly a flash of blond appeared and she was led away from the men harrassing her. Ella was feeling a tad lightheaded and she blamed the consumed alcohol for the headache she was starting to get.

The look on Chloe's face was a bit foreign to the dark-haired recruiter. She was the one usually doing the worrying. It was a bit disconcerting yet it felt oddly comforting at the same time. She only realised she was supposed to say something when Chloe blurred out of vision from Ella staring too long.

"Um...right yeah. Sure...I'm..." Ella grabbed Chloe just as a wave of nausea hit her."Oh jeez." She laughed before leaning on the blonde's shoulder, trying to ease off the overwhelming urge to vomit. "Mmm...you smell good." Ella mumbled, turning her head slightly so her lips were inches away from Chloe's neck. "Smell...so good." She moved her head until her lips touched Chloe's warm neck.

Once safely away from the pig, Chloe lifted her hand to Ella's cheek and gently stroked her thumb over her soft skin. She tucked a few wispy locks of hair that had fallen down behind the brunette's ear and sighed softly with relief when she realized that Ella was indeed okay. There was a sort of glassy look in her eye that told Chloe that her roomie had also been drinking, supported also by the way that Ella nearly collapsed into her.

"Good. I was worried he'd hurt you." She wrapped both her arms securely around the other woman, shivering a little when Ella's warm breath ghosted against her neck. "E-ella?" Chloe tipped her chin up a little on reflex and gasped when she felt the brunette's lips make contact with her skin. "M-maybe you should.. um... sit down for a little." Biting on her bottom lip and trying to ignore the tingle that spread through her nerves at both Ella's proximity and the breath that still spread over her neck.

Chloe put a little bit of space between them, though kept supporting some of Ella's weight as she led her off the dance floor and over to one of the tables along the side. "Here, take a moment." She pulled out a chair and helped the brunette into it, bending down slightly to look her in the face. Ella truly was a stunning woman and Chloe didn't deny that she was attracted to her, but they were just friends. She just had to keep telling herself that. Only friends.

Chloe's touches were electric. It was almost enough to jolt Ella back to sobriety. Or so she thought as she became increasingly aware of the fact that she was kissing the blonde's neck. And liking it a lot.

She groaned when Chloe pulled away and moved her to a chair. She plopped down obediently though, grateful that her legs, jelly-like as they were, weren't forced to hold her entire weight.

With Chloe's face just inches away from Ella, the brunette leaned forward and cupped one cheek in her palm, pulling the blonde closer to her. "You're...achingly beautiful." Ella whispered.

She was pretty sure this was a violation of her own roomate code. She knew what was at stake if she continued with this behaviour. But Ella didn't want to stop. She wanted to kiss Chloe. She had been waiting to kiss the blonde ever since she opened her apartment door for Chloe.

This won't work. Kissing Chloe would lead to something more that Ella normally wouldn't go for. But as she pulled the English teacher's lips on hers, Ella found that she really didn't mind.
