Same Thing Different Day (Open)

The club seemed like a good place to socialize. It had been only a short while ago since she had been here with someone else. The thought was immediately pushed out as soon as it had made an appearance. She wouldn't be thinking about that. Not anymore. Today was going to be a stress relief. No more thinking about the past. No matter how many memories there were in the club. She couldn't focus on those things. She needed to focus on what she was trying to do now. Here. Today. Not then. Now.

Adrianna pulled into a parking spot once she made her way downtown. She was wearing a short, silver party dress with matching strappy, silver heels. Her hair was pulled back into an intricate series of loops. She went out to have fun. To shine in the spotlight. She needed it.

As she walked in she paid the man who was standing at the entrance. She looked around and felt a stab of deja vu in the air. It was going to be difficult dealing with the memories, but she'd get over it. She had to move on. It's what she wanted and it's what she needed. She went in farther and went straight to the dance floor with a wide smile on her face as Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae blasted on the speakers.

She started twirling around and dancing, forgetting everything that had happened. This would be a night for change.

Normally, Tommy would have preferred a nice quiet type of party. It would include a nice circle of friends, soft music, food, maybe some... "greenery"... but that was the same old same old. He'd been "relaxing" for days now, taking life like he always had: one step at a time. Tonight though would be Tommy's "rock in the river," breaking up the flow and causing some rapids. Rapids were sometimes dangerous, but potentially more exciting as well.

He was all dressed up. All dressed up for Tommy though wasn't saying much. He just wore a v-neck shirt with some wicked stichings down the front, a black pair of jeans, and a rarity for him: shoes. Well, not shoes, but black Bikenstocks, with no socks of course. His clothes were clean, but the ever present traces of dirt and such filled his hair, and lightly covered spots of his skin. There was nothing he could ever do about that.

"Time to cut loose!" Tommy said as he walked down the streets towards the dance club. He hadn't driven of course, he preferred public transport. Better for the environment and all. His stride was his usual lanky, almost orangutan-like lumber. It couldn't have looked more relaxed if he tried. A song popped into his head though as he walked, and this all changed quickly.

"Yeah, loose... FOOTLOOSE!" Tommy's voice changed into a singing tone, lightly dancing and skipping along as he went down the streets. He caught the eyes of passerbys but he didn't care. He never really cared. Tommy was having a blast and he hadn't even reached the party.

Tommy stopped dancing and singing as he rounded the corner. Grinning ear to ear he could already hear the music from inside, and wished he'd invited more people to come. Shrugging and making the universal "oh well" sound, he paid the front door, engaged in a quick five-minute conversation with the large man, got his name and shook his hand. Never hurt to make friends on the spot now did it?

Once in the club, the music made Tommy just react instead of think. His flowing, strange but skillful style of dancing resembled his walk. He swayed and slide side to side, moving his arms and flowing with the music. Something shiny caught his eye though as "Tonight Tonight" was started up by the DJ. He turned and saw a familiar face: Adrianna Carstyn. He smiled and worked his way towards her.

"Hey, Adri! It's Tommy!" He said, his multiple bracelets on his wrist shaking and jangling as he waved. "You're looking, like, far out! Wanna dance?"
