Edward was low and low could be. He was expecting it to come at one time or another. He was expecting it earlier to be honest. The ultimatum. The time period and if he didn't make the right choice it was bye bye future with Drew. How could Drew expect him to make a choice like this? Edward held the airplane ticket in his hand as he stood in the queue to board. It was heading for New york where Drew's parents were.
Thanks giving around the Shepard family. Just like old times. Just like the rest of his life. A family man. He'd become a family man. Edward hovered when the woman called 'Next please?' then he reached down, threw his back pack over his shoulder again and headed for the door of the airport.
The taxi had taken him straight to Kali's and he knew he was messing up real bad. This was the love of his life he was letting down and for what? An older man he had a mild crush on who kept rejecting him? A challenge for him? Drew had never been a challenge. In fact, no one he'd really tried to pin had been a challenge for the flirt and king of broken hearts.
Then Malcolm came, rejected him just like that and left him in a rut. Edward dove through the door and grabbed a bare seat pulling out a tenner. The place was busy with lonely hearts and he felt sorry for those serving behind the bar on thanks giving. They'd never really celebrated that in the UK so it was totally new for him when he and Andrew had arrived on the scene.
He didn't pay much attention to the holidays anyway. Ed only then noticed. This was Malcolm's seat. Edward gave a slight smirk and shook his head. Incredible wasn't it? The things you did remember when you didn't want to think about it.
"Whiskey on the rocks please."
He said without looking at the bartender.
