Unfortunately, not everyone in Pilot Ridge is polite. Thankfully, some are.

Clarisse tended to drink tea more than she drank coffee, though she couldn’t say she preferred one over another. The nice thing about coffee was that it came in bigger cups. The nice thing about tea was that it came in many flavors and could be strong or weak, bitter or sweet. Unfortunately, the dainty little cups it came in --- though remarkably fashionable --- were not exactly as stable as they could be. While her eyes were preoccupied with the newspaper, her hand searched out the cup.

A stray bump from a fellow café go-er sent her hand askew, and knocked the tea over the leg and shoes of a passer-by. Clarisse gasped and immediately began to sop up the spill. Rather than an apology from the man who’d bumped her, she only got a haughty snort. Clarisse huffed and tucked her luxurious curls behind her ear.

“Mon Dieu,” she murmured “I’m so sorry.”
