Thread Roulette: Expert Reporter

Izzy James has been assigned a project by his English teacher. She needs to find someone to interview, and then give a report about. He pulled a name and phone number from the list of Hammel Alums his teacher had, and set up an interview with a local sports reporter, Feivel Silverstein.

Well, actually, he didn't. Gideon picked up his brother's phone because he had left it on the counter, and he's the one who set up the appointment.

Feivel Silverstein. It had been a name Izzy had pulled at random from the hat, and he had to admit, he wasn't exactly jumping for joy at the idea of interviewing a sports reporter. It did sound a lot better than some of the other options though. It wasn't like he had to hunt down a gym teacher or something equally lame. Nope; he got to talk to a reporter.

A reporter who watched sports for a living.

Izzy sipped at his drink, glad that he'd gotten there early. He knew Kali's, at least, since he regularly paid gigs there. So it made sense as a sort of neutral ground. Izzy figured that Mr. Silverstein had to be about as nervous about this as Izzy was. He also figured that he should probably let the guy know who he was supposed to be meeting, so he'd set up an incredibly lame sign that he'd propped up on one of the tables.

There was a notebook, a tape recorder, and a printed off set of questions sitting on the table too. In other words, absolutely everything you needed to properly interview someone. They were supposed to come up with their own questions, so Izzy figured he'd throw in a few neat ones too.

Then he looked over the questions... and found that he'd accidentally swapped out questions with an online quiz that AJ had printed out for him, something about "Which superhero were you." No, wait, there was at least three of the quizzes linked together.

"Oh man," said Izzy, flipping through papers. This... sucked. He flipped faster and faster, got to the end, and ended up scribbling down a few other questions. About that time, he heard footsteps, and looked up just in time to see... someone. He was really hoping it would be Mr. Silverstein.

Or, you know, not. Because Izzy certainly wouldn't balk at having more time to get something down.
