So three months now. Three months. It had been that long. She'd been at Hammel that long and she was really feeling the burn to be back on the streets of Naples singing opera with her mother and laughing with her hugely extended family. Delilah had made little progress in the way of making friends so far. Not because she wasn't trying. Mainly because she was just so accident prone that people dodged or flinched when ever they saw her walking down the hallways. It was cold out and yet, the young female was walking down town sipping on a slush puppie.
Ever since arriving in America she'd been addicted to slush puppies. They were just so good and brain freeze was a pleasant yet strange feeling for her so she sipped whatever she could down as fast as she possibly could hoping to leave her mind comfortably numb. Her mind so often was not comfortably numb. She still felt guilty for having cheated on her boyfriend with a girl and a girl she wasn't supposed to be around in the first place because she had been raised a catholic. Never mind... that was in the past.
Surely with the amount of hail marys she'd done and the hours of apologizing she'd have been forgiven and she promised never to do any of that again. Lily shook her head, eyes keeping track of the news in that week's paper as she walked down the street. This might have been an easy activity for most people but with Lily it spelled disaster. Before she could even yelp or scream, her body was brought to an abrupt hault by the fact that she had not seen the crate in front of her filled with apples. Her drink had gone flying out of her hand.
Apples had scattered into the walkway where people could have easy fell on them and crashed to the ground and by the time Delilah had recovered her scattered brain in time to look up, she noticed that someone had taken the blunt hit of her cold slushy. Lily slowly pulled herself from her strewn out possition across the crate with the expression like she was about to get murdered by the slushy drenched person then she started gathering apples and slowly returning them to the crate sparing a glance ever few seconds at the person.
