Lani's head bobbed as the sound pounded in through his earbuds. He hadn't had a day so bright in a while. It was sunny and things had been going well. His payday a few nights ago had let him off the hook for at least a few weeks. So he needed to play catch up in his classes. He smiled a little at that thought; he wasn't going to catch up. Sure he had his book bag with the intention of studying, but it was such a glorious day. He was glad he was dressed in light weight sneakers and jeans and a cozy hoodie. Spring had arrived early and the last dusting of snow had melted but there was a promise of snow later that night. He had a lot to think about. A lot had happened in the past few weeks, besides meeting Adrianna he had also met Martin, or rather as his file said Odion, but he wasn't sure why the man had lied to him but he would find out.
His boss had given him a break and so Lani had all of this time to himself suddenly and had decided that he would try to spend it alone to try to gather his thoughts. He wasn't sure whether or not he liked Martin yet. He certainly was the most frustrating person Lani had met in a while but at the same time he seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. Adrianna, he wasn't sure what he was going to do. He was smitten with the girl, but it terrified him how innocent and dependent she was on people. She trusted too easily and he was starting to wonder if she was afraid of him leaving. His freedom was being threatened and he wasn't sure he liked it. Too much happening at once. His secret was being threatened and his love life had suddenly become more active in the past week than it had in seventeen years.
And to add onto that, he only had a few weeks until he turned eighteen and he would check out of Hammel. If he could of course. He still needed to ask someone about that. Generally Lani wouldn't ask but he had a bad feeling that if he just up and left people might be a little disturbed and come after him, especially since he had made minimal progress in the eyes of his trainer. Lani didn't care; he had enough control, well no that was a lie too. He could figure it out on his own, though. "Carry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are done," He hummed unaware that his hum had actually turned into soft singing. "I was soaring ever higher! But I flew too high!" He shuffled a little thinking about the moves Adrianna had taught him. He was still awful but then again there was no one around... At least that he knew of.
He grinned and did a small air guitar solo. It was rather amazing the kinds of things people will do when they think no one was watching. He fountain and rolling up his sleeve he touched the water and called all the quarters to his hand. He pocketed them and smiled. What? He needed laundry money. He took a penny and started moving it around his hand like a little bird. He looked up and his smile turned to an expression of shock as he saw a person standing there. He pulled out his earbuds and shook his head a little. "Wow, sorry I didn't see you there."
