Can't Catch My Breath (Open)

Running. Always a good idea when one needs to relieve stress. At least for Adrianna it was a good reliever. This whole month had just gone down hill completely. Graduation had happened and Luke was gone, sure Greece had been absolutely perfect, but that's what made it the hardest. Adrian hadn't been out of her dorm since graduation. Now she was running around the track at five in the morning. She never got up early, never. The only reason she was up at five was because she hadn't slept at all the night before. This was definitely not like Adri at all.

Everything had gone wrong. Between her mother getting sick and everything just happening so fast, Adrian could barely keep up. As she ran around the track she imagined running from every problem that had presented itself in the past month. She just wanted to get away from it all. Of course being stuck in a school like Hammel, she couldn't escape from every problem. Every time she thought of Luke leaving, her stomach flipped. Sure, they had only dated for a little while, but it had been the one relationship she'd had. Guys liked her in California, but she was too young to have any serious connection with any of them. Luke had been the guy she thought she'd date for the rest of her time at Hammel. Until he left.

Adrianna kept a steady pace, her thick brown locks pulled back in a ponytail. She had her ipod headphones in and was focusing strictly on her breathing pattern, no problems, no people, just the track. She hoped no one would come out to see her because well, she didn't want to deal with anyone. If Zac showed up, she'd ignore him, if Braxton showed up, she'd probably ignore him too. They had just been so pleasant before when she had a better reason for being upset. She hated them both, but the one person she dreaded would see her...was Lucah.

Lucah was by far the worst person to see at this point in time. He had predicted that her relationship would end because of graduation and he was right. That was the most annoying part. He had known and he would torture her because of it. He just wasn't a happy guy. He didn't care about anyone's feelings...much like Zac.

Adrian picked up the pace once she felt the flush of anger surge through her. It was enough to get her adrenaline going. They were all jerks. Just like everyone else.

[Robbie Wilkes]

Robbie looked out the window to see that the weather was a good one for a run so out came the sweats and a grey sleeveless wife beater. Not the best running attire but Robbie was not known for his practicality.

With his MP3 blasting a song with an 8-bit track, he warmed up, willing the sun to hide behind the clouds so he could run without breaking a sweat. He didn't usually break into a sweat anyway but just in case...

Once he was completely warmed up and he felt himself loosening up, Robbie was ready to run. He passed a few people he recognised and stopped to talk to the ones who weren't so familiar.

After about a few laps around the compound, he ventured into the training field. It was pretty much deserted except for a dark haired girl Robbie thought was in his French class. With that in mind, Robbie went over in the hopes of discussing their latest conjunctive homework he was having a slight problem with.

But as he approached her, it became clearer that it wasn't indeed Lorraine but someone he wasn't entirely sure he knew. Hammel wasn't big, to be sure but Robbie always found that every day was an opportunity to meet someone new.

"Hey!" he greeted her cheerily, falling into step with her running pace. "Mind if I join you?"

Adrianna was going on her fifth lap around the track. She had glanced around a bit and noticed someone she hadn't really seen around. He looked like the golden boy type and that alone made her not want to meet him. She had been surrounded by that type back in California and those people annoyed her. Of course she was similar to that type, but she didn't like being shallow and egotistical. She took a deep breath you don't even know him. Don't judge too early or you'll end up just like Lucah, she thought to herself with a sigh.

Once he looked over at her she looked away and kept her eyes forward. She shook her head, trying desperately to clear it. Her pace didn't falter, she just kept going. For some reason she just couldn't keep her mind off of everything else. It was really starting to bother her.

As the blond haired boy came up beside her, she pulled her headphones out and placed them around her neck, "Hi, and not at all. It's a free country." Her tone was quiet and careful. She didn't need to be too friendly because her luck with people so far hadn't been the greatest. Maybe she was the problem...the thought struck a nerve and she sighed again, without realizing it had been out loud.

[Robbie Wilkes]

Had Robbie known the fragile state the girl was currently in, he would have steered clear of her but as it were, all he saw was a frown on a pretty girl's face so really, he wanted to cheer her up. That was all he wanted to do.

Her consent for him to join her was met with a huge smile and he picked up his pace a bit. "I don't know you. Which isn't so odd but still. Pretty girl like you, can't escape my radar so really, consider this fate intervening." He chuckled at his choice of words. Oh he can be so corny sometimes.

"I'm Robbie Wilkes. You don't have to call me Robbie Wilkes though. I do accept titles like Your Studness. But Robbie works just as fine."

Adrianna rolled her eyes and listened at his typical arrogant comments. She had been pretty spot on, but he wasn't being a jerk so she wasn't going to be mean. She smiled at his nickname and laughed lightly. Someone was a little conceded. She nodded and laughed again, "Okay, I wouldn't go as far as calling you 'Your Studness,' I think I'll stick with just calling you Robbie." She said in a more casual tone that wasn't so frigid.

"So Mr. Weather Control, what bring you out this early? Do you run every morning?" Adri asked. She had picked up on his power once he got closer. The way it felt was unique definitely. She couldn't explain the feeling, but it was pretty easy to detect by now. She just wondered if he'd pick up on what her power was, just by her question.

She always forgot that no one really knew the other person's power unless told to them. She knew everyone's power just if she was in contact with them or within a few feet of her. It just slipped her mind. That's usually how people found out her power though. There were only a few powers that allowed you to know other people's powers. Power sensory was the most commonly guessed, then there was power suppression and then what she had which was power mimicry.

[Annabelle Coronova]

Slowing a pace to a near stop, Anna had reached the green turf, and the blacktop or whatever that super absorbent track was made of. She was near the rickety bleachers, where only the few people from the local town would actually come to, just to cheer on this school that only they knew a thing or two about. But her focus wasn't on the bleachers. Instead, it was on that brunette over there, with that boy she'd recognized from before, vaguely, be it, but still recognizable. She turned off her music, took out her earphones, wrapped the cord up and just stood there. They were on the opposite side of the track, so she didn't look too creepy, but there was a reason, perhaps fate, for why she'd come to find the girl, perhaps a reason for why all of this had happened, but no need to get too heady about all this destiny mumbo jumbo. Small school, easy to find people around you that you just learned about from a complete stranger.

A pang of guilt flooded her mind for the girl that that guy had talked so fondly about. Still, he seemed distracted when he talked about her, not like he went in great deal to mention anything important about her to Bells, after all, he was the one who had chosen to speak to a stranger, not like she volunteered or anything. This girl, this Adrianna, the girl that had just lost her man to the beautiful islands of Greece. She could probably fabricate a love story about them,or find a similar mythological tale if she was that interested. But now was not the time for that. She felt like perhaps she could go and talk to the girl, casually you know, not too much pressure. After all, she didn't know what this Adrianna knew about what the guy had said, about what he was planning on doing with his life and all that and his future and everything, she didn't want to worsen the situation. So instead she'd just wait for the girl to jog along near her side, and maybe Bells could pop into their conversation, although she'd have to compete with Mr. Flirt over there. Like that's what Adrianna needed right now...

In three...two...one.. and she was off, jogging about five seconds ahead of Adrianna and Robbie, but she could surely slow down, actually, it was more logical to say that she would slow down, as Anna wasn't credited for her athletic ability. As long as she could keep up with the duo, all would be well. Turns out today would be more challenging than she already thought.

When she laughed, Robbie grinned triumphantly. At least she wasn't continuing her gloom and doom act, which was a good thing. And what Robbie had set out to do anyway. "Robbie is fine," he flicked his hand in dismissal before giving her a sideways grin.

When she called him Mr. Weather Control, Robbie laughed firstly at the nickname. Then he chuckled in amusement to find that she actually knew his ability. Mind reader? Power tracker? "Yeah, I usually do it in the mornings. When there aren't a lot of people yet." He replied, bobbing his head up and down in agreement.

"So, I'm thinking either you know me more than I gave you credit for or you're psychic. My next guess is that you're some sort of power tracker...I'm wrong aren't I?" Robbie laughed at his own incompetence. Then again, his powers had none of the awesomeness of knowing other people's powers.

Suddenly someone was running in front of them, almost tripping Robbie over. "Whoa..." Served him right for not paying attention to where he was running.

[Adrianna Carstyn]

Adrianna smiled. He ran every morning, hm maybe she had found a running partner. It had been a while since she had actually gone out and ran for a while. She enjoyed running in the morning too, because as he had said it was less crowded. It gave her time to think and relax without people interrupting.

"I don't know you, no, and I'm not psychic either. I'm a power mimic. I can tell everyone's power just by being around them. Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming being in a crowd, but it's easy to sort out powers. All of them have a different feel, I guess you could say." She shrugged and looked at the girl in front of them that Robbie had almost tripped over. Luckily Adrian had slowed down a bit before the girl jogged out in front of them. Once she was close enough Adrianna got a good feel of the retrocognition from the girl.

That was a new one. She had never really used retrocognition before. The power she had the most practice with was the cryo power Lucah and Zaeric both had. She had used tactile anesthesia once too after hanging out with Serenity. She enjoyed that one a little too much. It was pretty funny seeing Lucah drop once she had touched him. She hid the smirk on her face as she thought about it.
