Who Doesn't Like Parties? (OPEN)

Music blasting...check. Bodies thrashing...check. Bass thumping...duh! Party time.

Adrian being the party girl that she was, decided she'd finally throw a total bash. It was a late birthday present to herself, but not presents were needed. She decided to have a full campus blow-out. Everyone invited, even the people that hated her. She had been deprived of parties for way too long and she finally took matters into her own hands.

Of course she had cleared it with the dormies first, couldn't have a great party if the roommates weren't havin' it. Adri had spent a few days planning it. She put fliers up all over campus and everyone was welcome. This wouldn't be a time for drama and hatred, Adrian just wanted to have fun and be care free for one night. Not to mention she hadn't thrown a party at Hammel yet. She was curious to see who all would show up. Part of her even wondered if Zac would come to torture her and bring Stella so he could show her off. Maybe Ash would even bring his new girlfriend. She didn't care either way, even Zac wouldn't ruin her night, or at least she hoped. Even if he tried, she would attempt being nice, just to make sure nothing too bad happened.

Adri had also invited another boy. Someone she had met when he discovered her dancing in the --what she thought was abandoned-- Auditorium. They had shared a nice slow dance to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton and she had been hooked. Well this would be a test to see just how things were going to happen.

She walked around the dorm after several groups had already filed in. She went around to see if people were having fun and if things were okay. Drinks were displayed in the kitchen, just about every pop beverage and juice beverage she could get, plus some water. Surely one of the seniors would bring alcohol because...well that's just how they were. Adrianna pulled her slim-fitting dress down on the bottom and pulled her hair around her shoulder as she looked around.

Now to wait until the fun really started...

Rhett swiftly slipped in the room and grabbed the nearest can of Pepsi he could found. What did those things had anyway that were so tasteful? Maybe his ESP will someday tell him. Or maybe he'll think about it next time he's in front of a computer and google it. Then again he hates the things and hasn't touched his laptop in about a month or so.

Examining the "partying" students in the room made Rhett remember how America was so different from Europe. He was only wearing a loose pale yellow simple shirt with a V neck, white jeans and white sneakers, an outfit that would very perfectly make him fit in most European indie kids, but it just bluntly made him stand out a bit in this particular party, which wasn't that enjoyable. Well he didn't really care that much. Firstly, he liked his style very much and had no plans to change it just to fit in. Secondly, why would he want to fit in? and Thirdly, it wasn't about enjoying the party this time.

Three sips into his beverage Rhett had already located this party's organizer in the crowd. As any good host, she was walking all over the place, trying to make everyone enjoy themselves and probably not enjoying herself that much. Rhett sighed. He couldn't really see the point on that, but well, it was just the way it worked, and it's not like his attendance to such party, one that he was not invited to, actually, was going to make Adrianna enjoy the time any more. To her, he probably was nothing but that evil guy who her boyfriend cheated on with once. Maybe she was paranoid enough and she would think that he was here to rob her newest boyfriend, if she had one. Maybe to her, Rhett's only reason to exist was to ruin her love life. It was a dramatic thought, of course, but then again, he was not there to make her feel better either, was he?

Halfway into his Pepsi, Adrianna finally glanced around the wall Rhett was silently leaning to long enough for him to affirm she had noticed him. So he waved at her with a soft smile.

It’s really amazing what two months of isolation can do to a guy. Normally parties like these – just in a person’s room, organized with such mediocrity that (in Zac’s eyes) even his dog, should he have one, would do a job ten times better – the mimic would just let pass by. Read the invite, huff, then throw it in the trash. If he doesn’t burn it or shred it first anyway.

But as it was, the pompous teen had seemingly yearned for human contact that he’s decided to make an appearance. Sure his expectations were still rather low, but at least crashing it seems to a bit more fun than simply staying in his room and catching up on those TV shows he’s missed over the past months.

So, dressed in an all-black ensemble – long sleeves, skinny jeans and military boots – the boy casually entered the room, surprised it didn’t feel all crowded and humid already. The dorm suites were big, but he doubts they’d be big enough to handle all the people coming. If the number of attendees were equal to the number of flyers about the party he’s seen around school anyway.

Within moments, Zac was completely within the party mood, casually chatting with two girls he vaguely remembered to be shown in the slideshow. Seems time heals wounds apparently, as they seem all but willing to throw themselves at him already. Either that, or they just didn’t see themselves in the said presentation.

Excusing himself for a moment to grab a drink, Zac accidentally bumped onto someone. And lo and behold, it’s his favourite blonde. “Please tell me you’re not following me,” he said, rolling his eyes, unaware if he accidentally made the European spill his drink on himself, “And where’s your ginger arm warmer? Or are you going after your first boyfriend’s ex now?”

Technically, this would be Izzy's first real party since his arrival in Hammel. Which meant that he wasn't quite sure what the code for such things actually was. Most of the parties back home were more of the "let's get together with stuff to drink and loud music and see what happens." More often than not "what happens" usually involved stupidity and girls, sometimes both at the same time.

Anyway, he'd known the girl throwing the party, though they hadn't really talked since the whole "I put you in the infirmary" bit. Still, Izzy couldn't exactly turn down a chance to run into Adrianna again in a party scene, even if he was convinced that would be a disaster. Even better: he'd been able to focus his power better now, and he was pretty sure he had something resembling a better handle on it. Meaning that he could usually follow conversations and such. He'd even considered talking Anya into letting him have a power free hour, but he knew better.

ENOUGH BACKSTORY, FATE, GET WITH THE PARTY.

Izzy walked in, oddly not far behind Rhett, also hitting the refreshment table. He kept a little clear of his roommate though, not wanting the other guy to think Izzy was a stalker or something. Izzy didn't recognize anybody else though, save for Adrianna, and he still wasn't sure if he should be approaching her or not. So he grabbed his drink and was determined to wander until he started bumping into people. It should totally work. Even if there was an obnoxious Asian kid yelling. Why did that guy look familiar...? Izzy paused, staring and crinkling his brow as he tried to figure it out. So, yeah, mostly standing with a Pepsi in hand, staring at someone he thought he remembered.

Why am I not surprised of LaRousse here? Rhett sipped from his Pepsi as the Asian kid approached. For some seconds he remembered their meeting and wondered if Zac did too. If he did, he should be being more respectful to Rhett, though, since Rhett still has leverage over him, promise or not. Then again, it didn't surprise Rhett that this leverage didn't affect Zac's behavior at all. If he were any different to Rhett it would mean there's something weird, and LaRousse obviously didn't want people thinking that. If they were alone, though, things would be different, but Rhett wouldn't be caught dead alone with Zac in a million years.

"But I am following you." The accented word should have tipped the sarcasm off of the sentence.

He wondered how did Zac know about Odion. Then again, they weren't exactly a secret, but he didn't know they were worthy of hall-gossip. Well, at least Rumor hadn't posted about it in his blog yet, that was something to be grateful. The question then was, is Zac a gossipy cleaning lady or was he interested in Rhett's life? Rhett prayed for the first one.

"Well, where's your firefly?" Rhett was not giving Zac the pleasure of asking his questions. "Or are you going after non-glowing, non-pointy girls tonight?" He calmly continued his canned beverage. "I got your letter, by the way. Heart-touching. You should work on your orthography." Noticing his soon-to-be ex-roommate staring at them for some reason, Rhett tilted his head and raising an eyebrow. "Hmm. Seems you have another blonde fan." Rhett didn't find mandatory to put a sarcastic tone to his talking anymore. It had to be obvious by now. "Bet you never get tired of us stalking you."

People had started flooding in all of a sudden, so she continued with her rounds and made sure she got to everyone. It was nice having so many people come to her first party. Good music was still filling the dorm and it was getting slightly crowded.

The first person Adrianna noticed was a blond boy that she had only really seen once or twice. This boy had also caused her a bit of a problem, but she didn't blame him. Rhett, the one that Tal had cheated on her with. She hadn't really seen him much since their last encounter and she didn't really expect to see him here. She wondered why he was there in the first place. Maybe just to hang out, maybe to taunt her. She didn't know, but she saw him smile at her and she returned it before walking into another room.

Adrian heard Zac before she saw him. Rude comments flying already. She ignored them and him. So as she turned to make her way back around the crowd, she ended up running into someone else. "Sorry," She started, then cut off when she saw that it was Izzy. She hadn't seen him since the accident and he had been practically avoiding her.

Adri didn't want to start anything, but she was hurt. She placed her hands on her hips and looked up at him defiantly, "Oh so you can avoid me whenever I try talking to you, but you still come to my party? That's a bit contradictory isn't it?" She didn't use an angry or annoyed tone, not like she wanted to. Instead her tone was soft and a little hesitant. Izzy had been nice to her and she had helped him for a reason. She didn't want to fight with him.

Wow, it seemed like the Asian and Rhett were engaging in an all-out catfight or something. Izzy wanted to leap to the defense of his roommate and friend, though at this point, he was beginning to wonder if that was at all necessary. Besides, there was the whole lack of Odion here. Where was Rhett's, uh, "special friend?" Should Izzy be asking that? He moved to head toward the roommate, only to bump into someone else instead.

Boy, this wouldn't be at all awkward.

"Not really," tried Izzy, shifting. "I mean, I wasn't really trying to avoid you," except for the whole fact that he was, and he had been, and that he had even been planning on doing that here, had he not been stunned by a catfight or something. "It's just been, uh, I had a lot of stuff going on and, uh, I didn't want to bother you or anything."

A pause, one that would probably be met with much glaring and or other bad expressions. Thank God for music and catty Asians. "So, I heard this was for your birthday. Sorry I missed it. I could play you a song or something to make it up, if you, uh, want."

See, this wasn't awkward at all, now was it? Now Izzy just needed to stop shifting and thinking about collapsing bubbles of time and carrying the girl in front of him when she was nearly naked up several flights of stares after pretty much knocking her unconscious thanks to an overdose of a power that he really should have control of though he did have better control of it now, but how could he really explain that unless he just outright said it.

But really, what were the chances of that happening?

Much like what Rhett thought, Zac knows better than to act differently around the blonde. He’s already made the mistake of overreacting when the blonde first blurted out a tidbit about him that he thought he’s hidden perfectly; it’s so not going to happen again. (He seriously thinks that the boy’s a powerful telepath. If only he could get either Dr. Neville or Mr. Campbell to teach him how to form mental shields). So despite the fact that Rhett not only knows about his stuffed animal collection but also about his ‘buddies’, odd quirks and other extremely dangerous ammo, he’d never stop being a jerk to him when people are around.

Besides, he’s already so submissive and quiet and nice whenever he’s stuck with the blonde in the weights room at night. He can’t let him win all the time, can’t he?

“Careful Rhett. Ginger might know about what you just said. I wouldn’t want to be the cause of your breakup. And besides, that’s your specialty, right? One of the reasons why Adrianna loves you so much,” he said with as much sarcasm as the blonde before him gave. Then an idea hit him. If he couldn’t get back at Rhett for all the torturing he’s been giving him, maybe he could have a go through the Irish boy.

Hmm.

“Stella’s not into parties.” He’ll just leave it at that; he has a front to keep up after all. Though it is rather surprising that Rhett had actually believed Rumour. “Is there anything wrong with that? Should I be going after irritating blonde stalkers tonight?”

Grabbing a paper cup and mixing Pepsi and Sprite together, he promptly turned back and gave Rhett a hearty laugh when he mentioned about the apologies. “Oh, should I have added a kiss to seal the deal?” He grabbed the blonde’s chin and tilted it up a bit, pulling his face close before sticking his tongue out and giving Rhett a shove.

“So where’s our lovely host again?”

"Right." What could Rhett say? Zac was actually right. It was barely arguably, but well, Rhett was just not anybody. "At least that's what, one person that loves me. What are your numbers again? Thirty-what? How many apology letters was it that you wrote exactly to yours fans that must be loving you dearly?"

There. Aggressive. Maybe too aggressive, it wasn't Rhett style, but well, Zac was no ordinary rival in verbal matches. He could even argue that they were not that different when it came to treat people coldly and without remorse most of the time just for the... entertaining of it. Yet, even if he was not a proud person, Rhett thought he was better than Zac. Rhett was no "aura" person, but there was something about the Asian boy that just always seemed to scream "evil", whereas in Rhett it was just a "potential evil", or so he wanted to think, anyway. To affirm his judgement, there were for sure more people in school that hated Zac than those that hated Rhett.

"Well you already came after me, didn't you?" With the mood a little bit lighter in the conversation, the blonde continued his Pepsi, eyeing the conversation behind the Korean boy. "Oh crap." Rhett said in his most unexcited voice while rolling his eyes and making and exaggerated frown in his face. "Seems like Adrianna stole your other blonde stalker." Predicting the most obvious comment at that, Rhett went ahead and said it first. "What do you say, should I give her advice on how to do it?"

So Rhett had completely left out the part about his little ginger lover. Clever.

Time for Zac to bring him back in the conversation again then.

“At least two,” corrected Zac with a slight raise of his eyebrow, “You seem to have forgotten to include Odion. Or do you not consider his affection as love?” Change sly smirk into a puzzled, seemingly hurt, pout. “Is he just some little fucktoy to you?” He let out a slight yawn, narrowly missing a guy’s mouth as he stretched his arms out. “And Goddard, get your numbers right. It’s seventy-three, since I was a loudmouth and had to write a separate one for their parents. And yes, divorcees get one each.” A pain in the ass to write by hand back then, but knowing that he’s tormented that much in one prank gives him some odd satisfaction.

“That’s not counting the ones that loved me that graduated already. Or the ones that weren’t included in the slideshow because no one would get down with them. Should I give you a list?” Two months of detention and it still hasn’t taught him shame. Irredeemable? More than likely.

He didn’t really care all that much for the conversation happening between their host (he didn’t even know the blonde talking to her), but if Rhett thinks it’s interesting, might as well have a go at it. “Pfft. Childish drama. You really want to get involved in that?” His love story with Talen was one thing, but this? Too petty even for his tastes.

Doesn’t mean he’ll it go easily though.

“What the boy here is trying to say, Adrianna, is that he’s way too busy sleeping with Rhett over here to notice you. And yes, he stole your boyfriend, or what would’ve been your boyfriend, once more. Isn’t that lovely?” He gave Rhett a smug wink.

“This party’s for your birthday? Goodness. Happy birthday. I’ll mail you your gift tomorrow. So sorry.”

Adrianna listened to Izzy's excuses and frowned. Busy. Right. She didn't know what to do about it. After all, it was Izzy's choice whether he wanted to be friends with her or not. She sighed and nodded slightly, trying hard to swallow the excuses like he wanted her to.

She didn't lighten up at the mention of her birthday either. Especially when Zac decided to butt his big egotistical head into the conversation. She barely gave him a glance though. She smiled at Izzy's suggestion and that he was trying to make it up to her, "You don't have to Izzy, it's really okay." She said softly to him.

Adri turned to Rhett and Zac and smiled again. "Hey Rhett, Zac, I'm glad you both could make it. Wouldn't be much of a party without you would it Zac?" She laughed lightly, trying so hard just to get along with everyone. It was supposed to be fun.

"Yeah, it's a late birthday party I guess. And please don't worry about the present, you can save whatever it will be for someone you actually like and aren't trying to torture...if there is anyone like that." The last part came off harsher than she intended, but she couldn't help it. Robbie may see the nice side of Zac, but she didn't. Nor would she ever.

And for some reason, she really didn't care if she did or not. He may have thought he was better than everyone else, but in reality, he wasn't.

"Fair enough, two." Rhett agreed with Zac showing no sign of being uncomfortable at the Asian kid's constant mention of his boyfriend, even if Rhett himself was apparently avoiding mentioning him himself. "Hmm... Then it must actually be seventy-five just in school. Last I heard, your two BF's, or is it BFF's? I'm still not used to these slangs, didn't really take all what happened very well." If something had been proven by Zac and Rhett's conversation in this party, was that gossip in Hammel spread like a disease. Then again, it wasn't that unhelpful that your meta-ability is related to the information-trading area. "Seventy-five beats two. Guess you win again, as usual. I believe you can claim a prize in first floor. They give stuffed animals to pretty little girls, be sure to wear your best outfit."

Then there was Zac getting involved in Izzy's and Adrianna's conversation. And mention of Talen-stuff again. The school will never let it go, will it? Apparently Adrianna was intelligent and mature enough to let Zac's crazy comment slide through one side, choosing instead to reply to the birthday part. Selective hearing, or ignoring, actually. If everyone did that... For a moment, Rhett just imagined a frustrated Zac trying to get people mad and everyone ignoring him. Or better, everyone ignoring him altogether, like if he were invisible. He'd implode.

"Don't worry Izzy, LaRousse is always like this." He said to the fellow blonde, attempting to prevent him from getting jumpy from the Korean boy's comment. If he did, Zac would just prey on him like the newbie he still was, and Rhett owed enough to Izzy for him to deserve at least a warning/advice. "Happy late-birthday" Rhett congratulated Adrianna after she affirmed it was indeed her birthday party. "I didn't bring you a present, then again you'd have told people it's your birthday if you wanted gifts, so I should guess it's probably fine."

Was it just Izzy, or did most of the party guests here hate each other? Sure, he had this whole awkward thing going with Adrianna, and his feelings on Rhett seemed to change on a nearly daily basis, but he wasn't openly at war with either of them. Not like Zac, who apparently wanted to aim for the throat. Yet again, Izzy felt the urge to do something about the jerk. He might have too, if, you know, he wasn't being grilled already.


"Uh, no, the whole song thing, that was kinda my really lame version of giving you a present or something," said Izzy. He was digging into the pockets of his pants, pulling out a very rumpled sheet of notebook paper, filled with scribbles and notes. "I tried to write one, but I kind of suck at it, so I was thinking I could just play you something you actually, you know, liked but--"

Had Zac really just said that? Izzy turned to him, his expression mostly confused. "What the hell? I haven't done anything to you. I don't even know you. And I'm definitely not sleeping with Rhett. I'm not," Izzy waved a hand in a horrible attempt at filling in missing words, "that. I wouldn't even if I was, because I don't cheat on people."

He glanced from Adrianna to Rhett, realizing that, yeah, they hated each other too. Don't worry; he's always like this.

"And you let him? Seriously, what is wrong with you people? It's her birthday party! Can't you just play nice and pretend you don't want to kill each other for a few hours?"

Izzy really, really wanted to tell them to grow up, but he also really, really didn't want to get the crap beat out of him. Plus, Adrianna was sort of a friend (who was hot), and Rhett was kinda Izzy's roommate, and someone he could see becoming a friend.

Zac was just an asshole.

And once again Rhett sneakily dropped the topic about his little ginger boy. Fortunately for Rhett, Zac finally understood that he won’t be getting anything out of the blonde tonight. Doesn’t mean he won’t try next time though (there are more parties to come, not to mention those nights when they see each other at the gym might prove useful).

He would’ve left it at that, but then Rhett had to mention his little secret. The one he had to remove from his room and place somewhere else just in case the blonde decides to spill his little secret out to a certain blog. “You find me pretty? I’m touched,” was all he could say. He didn’t know what to say about it before, he still doesn’t know what to say about it now.

But he does know that he’ll be sending a few notable pictures to a certain ginger once he gets back to his room tonight.

“Of course. I figured since I already caused you enough pain by revealing to the world that your boyfriend chose a guy over you, I’ll make it up by giving your party a little star power.” His hand waved around the people in the party, as if they’re all there because of him. “If only I could convince them that it wasn’t your incompetence in bed that turned him gay, I would. Because heaven knows you’re such a dirty whore, right?”

Where Zac pulls these things out of, it’s probably better that we don’t know.

He let out a sarcastic laugh at Izzy’s reaction, messing the boy’s hair up a bit. “Well now you do. Nice to meet you Izzy,” he said with the most insincere grin he can muster, coupling it with the roll of his eyes. “What? Gay? You do know that the tone you used is rather offensive. Tsk tsk. Like the whole word is taboo.” He promptly grabbed Rhett, slung his arms over his shoulders like they’re best buds, and gave his chest a pat. “And Rhett’s offended. Why wouldn’t you want to sleep with him? Is Talen around? I betcha he could tell you all about Rhett’s good qualities. Though Aid, you might want to turn around for a bit.”

Apologies in behalf of Zac. He just can’t play along nice with others as it seems.

Adrianna was a bit overwhelmed with all of her feelings. She hated Zac and didn't even know why he had to be there. She wasn't a huge fan of Rhett considering that the only time she had even met him was when he decided to be a jerk to her after he had helped her ex cheat and then there was Izzy. He was trying so hard to avoid her before because he felt guilty. She just wanted one day without all of this drama to deal with. She wanted to have fun, to be the California party girl that she had been before. But apparently that had been too much to ask for.

She smiled at Izzy and looked down at the paper of scribbled lyrics. She had a feeling he was a lot better at it than she was, "Izzy I'm just glad you're here." She smiled wider and gave him a small hug. Then she turned to Rhett and continued her smile, "Yeah don't even worry about it, this isn't really for my birthday, I just needed a reason to party." She shrugged.

That's when Izzy went off and Zac took it overboard. She hadn't really seen Izzy so upset and it was flattering really that he cared so much, good to know that even if he avoided her, he still cared. She heard Zac's words and it was more or less a slap in the face, but harsher than she expected.

She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry again, her expression turned to one of the sickly sweet kind and her words matched, "You know Zac I really am so glad you could give me that star power. It really is nice of you to be here and it's also nice to know that you would try and tell everyone else that my terrible sex life wasn't the reason he went for Rhett. I am a dirty whore after all, why should I hide it? It's something to take pride in, at least...that's what you do."

It wasn't until he started going after Izzy that she lost her composure, "Ya know what Zac, you can leave. I thought you'd actually put all of this bull shit behind you for a party, but apparently I was wrong." She snapped. "And to think I was giving you a chance because of one of your loyal followers told me to. One that I trust with everything and I thought maybe you really were different. Well now that I've found out that no matter how many chances I give you that you won't change, I can kick your ass out of my party." Adrianna gritted her teeth, "Now leave before I get someone to throw you out on that big egotistical head of yours and I'm not talking about the one in your pants that I'm sure is quite small. After all, your ego has to make up for something in size." She said as she turned back to Izzy, expecting Zac to leave.

Though she expected him to, she knew he wouldn't without a few more dick head comments.
