Outfit: XDani had just finished texting Robbie that it was cool with her if he was going to be out with a friend for a while, even if that friend was LaRousse. She sighed, stared at the ceiling, and then flopped over to look at Switchblade. He appeared to be sleeping, and his dish was empty, so Dani got up and got his food bag out. She found it a bit odd that he wasn't even twitching at the rustle of the plastic, but shrugged it off and opened the little hatch in the cage, poured the food in, and put the bag away. When she looked back at the hamster, worry began to take effect, and she opened the main hatch, poking Switchblade gently.
Nothing.
"No, no, no, no." She murmured, almost like a prayer. "Come on, wake up, Switchy. I believe in you!" Her encouragement brought no reaction. She pulled him out and cradled him in the palm of her hand, holding him close to her chest. She sat on the floor, rubbing his head slowly with her thumb. "Come on, Switchblade. You can't leave me, dammit. Things were just going fucking right." Her voice cracked, and she realized she hadn't stopped herself before she started crying. The tiny drops of salt water dripping from her chin to land on the hamster were also a nice clue. She rubbed one cheek dry on her shoulder and glared at the little bits of moisture absorbing into the fur of the motionless rodent in her hands.
She was thankful she was the only one in the room right now, because she had left her door open. Well, actually, Park was in the room, too, but he had his door closed last she checked. (Thank gods). Hopefully he didn't get hungry or something.
Wait. Park. She turned around, looked out her door. There. Jared had left his door open, which meant he was not in there. Which meant he was in the common area. She took as deep a breath as she could manage and called out softly. "Jared?" She winced. She sounded pathetic, even to herself. "Um, Jared." God, what was she doing? He's the enemy!
...But, then again, he was the only one that wouldn't try to smother her right at that moment. So maybe she had made the right choice.
