Romeo could honestly say that it has never crossed his mind that his first intimate encounter would be with a guy, and a (close) friend of his at that. Nor would he have guessed that he’d actually come back for more over the course of the week.

Clearly he’s not complaining.

Despite all that though, it’s rather interesting to note that the Irish boy’s in no rush to make whatever it was between him and Craven public. He’s made it a point to drop by only when he’s sure there’s no one else in Craven’s room, and tried his best to keep their noise to a minimum. (Craven’s redhead roommate is giving him funny looks whenever he passes by her in the hallways lately). Nor has his interactions with Craven changed much – he might’ve been a bit more gentle this time around, but he’s still relatively abrasive.

As it was, the boy claims that while he likes Craven and considers him to be more than just a normal friend, he’s not entirely sure if he like likes Craven that way. The sex is goodgreat he says, but he’s not certain he’d be willing to go the extra step.

In a nutshell, Romeo’s still a douche.

He was on his way to the weights room right after his last period when he overheard a few girls in his class talking about Craven. And Gia. And how they’re supposedly together now and it’s been the sweetest thing they’ve seen.

What?!

Jaw dropping almost immediately, the boy quickly gathered his stuff and rushed to where Craven is. (Romeo clarifies that he already knew the boy’s schedule even before the whole thing started). Grabbing the boy by the arm, he gently dragged him to his room and spoke, his voice filled with urgency and concern.

“Dude, we need to talk.”

"You're missing the point, Ariel. The fact that Twillight and the Host were written by the same person has entirely no bearing to how Twillight was utter trash while the Host was a remarkable and compelling piece of Litrature"
Craven saying his his heated debate with a sixteen year old meta while they exited the biology class, The Host, in his hands which he was apparently forcing Gia to read. This was the whole point of this debat. Gia would read anything he stuffed in her hands and right now it was the Host.

The Girl's point was that Gia would do anything Craven told her to and this was completely evident to not only Craven, but to other people too. Of course, Craven being Craven he'd not only become defensive about it but was completely stearing the topic of conversation into a different direction when his arm was suddenly grabbed by no other then his tutor of the horizontal limbo. Craven shot a frown at Romeo as he was ushered away from Ariel. He hitched up his shoulder bag and nodded his goodbye to Ariel who gave him a short wave.

Suddenly they were being ushered into Craven's bedroom. Of course he was being totally gentle about it. To be honest Craven liked this side of Romeo. Protective and intimate and the times when they were together, Craven felt totally and completely ontop of the world. Maybe that's why when he was in Craven's empty room he smiled softly and moved over to the bed to sit down, setting his copy of The Host beside him as he looked up at what he now knew to be his lover.
"I'm flattered but we can't right now Romeo. I uh...What happened?"
He could immediately see something wrong in Rome's posture and it sent alarm bells ringing immediately.

Was the rumor out or somethin? About them? Craven's eyes widened and he jumped to his feet.
"What? Romeo!"
He yelped. Oh God. Gia! His eyes shot to the door and he moved toward it. He needed to get to her! To Explain!

Romeo couldn’t help but let out an audible snort of amusement when he heard Craven’s question. Had he been so sex-crazed lately that it’s the first thing that comes in his head whenever the Irish boy comes along? Not that he was complaining anyway. Guess that means he’s doing a pretty good job then.

Trust Craven to know exactly how to stroke the boy’s ever-growing ego.

But then again, now’s not the time for that. Shaking his head slightly to get the smug grin off his face, he gave Craven what he hopes is a neutral serious expression, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed as he watched the boy sit on the bed. He was just about to speak when the boy suddenly sprang up, eyes wide.

Something really is up.

Good thing he chose to lean near the door, so when Craven jumped up and threatened to go outside, it didn’t take much effort from Romeo to stop him. He simply reached across, grabbing the boy by the waist and pulling him close. “Calm down dude,” cooed the boy as he pressed the boy close to his side, playfully ruffling his hair as he led him back to bed, “Nothing happened. Yet at least.”

He led his friend back to bed, clearing his throat as they sat down. “So,” Romeo said, voice slightly shaking, “When are you going to tell me about Gia? You know, that you finally got her to go out with you?”

While Romeo doesn’t know the girl personally, Craven has mentioned her quite a lot before. He vaguely remembers even taunting the boy that he won’t be able to kiss the girl by the end of the year. Seems Craven has already won the bet and he hasn’t even bothered to tell him.

No, Romeo says he’s not jealous. Or maybe a little, but as a close friend, nothing else.

Craven was grabbbed around the waist and pulled close to Romeo. His breathing came in easy and was let out slowly again as his eyes focussed on Romeo's for the comfort he needed. The cooed words turned him to putty at which point he'd have followed Romeo whereever Romeo lead which was to the bed to sit down. Craven fliched at the word 'yet'. It was blatantly obvious that Romeo knew now. Craven groaned and stared at the roof.

"Why did you give me such a shit power. Astral projection would have come in handy right now..."
Craven mutterred at the ceiling as he flopped onto his own bed and then the questions came. His eyes slowly crawled their way to Romeo and a frown settled between his eyes before he dropped them to the ground before his head snapped up at the last question.
"GOT her to go OUT with me? God No. She suggested we try. She kissed me. She... "
Craven took a deep breath to calm himself down then quickly took up Romeo's hands.

"I was soooo mad at her for kissing me. For complicating things and now it's happened again with you."
Craven groaned and flopped back across the bed, head falling heavily into his pillow.
"Rome... I don't wanna hurt her but it's like... so different with you. No strings. No fear of hurting you..."
Then the realization settled and he snapped upward again, his hands coming to cup Romeo's face as he peered at his lover.

"You're not hurt right? You don't seem like you can hurt most of the time... This... Us...It was a dream for me. I never thought it would actually happen and Gia's like someone else's fairytale story that I'm trying to not ruin cause I promised her I'd give it a shot. Besides, it's not like you would ever come out and tell the world I'm your... you know... boyfriend or anything. I think your rep is more important then say... some stupid guy crushing on you, right Rome?"
Who was he trying to convince here? Himself or Romeo?

Another warm laugh escaped the Irish boy’s mouth when Craven mused loudly about having a different power. For someone who’s supposedly shy and socially awkward, the boy knows just when and how to break what seems like the growing tension between them. “You are such a dork, you know that,” chuckled Romeo, shaking his head as he gave the boy’s hair a good tussle, “What good would astral projection give you? Your body’d still be here.”

Then Craven started talking, clearing Romeo’s misconceptions out. God was he so wrong or what? “Fuck dude, you serious?” he asked, looking at Craven with eyes wide with a mix of surprise and delight, “She kissed you? She asked you out? And you got mad at her for kissing you? God you are such a girl.” Cue in that loud laugh Romeo used a thousand times before when he’s playing tricks on the boy, as well as that light punch that always lands just above the boy’s right elbow.

He watched as Craven suddenly flopped down the bed, running his hand through his hair to introduce at least a semblance of order to his crazy curls. He opened his mouth to playfully protest when Craven cupped his chin, but was (once again) caught off guard by the words that came out of the crow-communicator’s mouth.

By gods is he blunt or what?

For some reason, hearing those words from Craven actually hurt. True, it was pretty much what he had in mind about their special arrangement – that despite the intimacy they share, they’re just friends (no strings whatsoever), and that they keep their little agreement under wraps at any cost since they still both have images to preserve, among the few – but for some reason, hearing it from someone else other than his own mind made it seem so…bad. Like he’s been taking advantage of Craven. (Which he totally is, by the way).

Damn. He is a douche.

“So now you turn all smartypants on me?” A joke, coupled with another physical assault (read: another punch), to abate the sudden guilt he’s feeling. “Dude, you’re not stupid. You’re…you. Craven stupid maybe, but not stupid stupid. Ok?” He pulled the boy close to his chest, gently stroking his hair, not unlike that gesture that fateful night that led to them being in this situation. “If anyone tells you otherwise, tell me. I’ll beat them up, ok?”

And then he’s out of smart quips. Which only means he has to go and start talking about the hard part in the whole thing. “I…I’m sorry Cravee. It’s just that…I…I’m…not…I’m just not…”

Comfortable with it.

Ready for it.

Sure about it.

With his thoughts running in all directions, the boy’s been rendered completely mute. Lame as it may be, he decided to just bury himself in Craven’s hair, kissing it lightly as he pulled the boy closer. “Tell me you promised her you’d give you two a chance after we slept together. Please?” That’s the reason why he snatched the boy from his friends in the first place anyway.

And no, he’s not hurt. Not at all.

Craven rolled his eyes as he got lovingly teased by his crush and his cheeks flushed a bit as he slouched at the edge of the bed. He smirked at Romeo's question.
"Well sure my body would be here but I'd avoiding this for a while longer. Besides..."
I'd be safe from having to pretend we never really happened.
"I wouldn't have to listen to your rambling in the astral plane."
Craven closed his eyes and pulled away from Romeo as he fell back across the bed.

Please. Don't let this happen. Please, Craven begged to anyone out there listening to his pleas. It was futile though. He knew what he was to Romeo. Fun. A good time now that they'd learned how that worked. It hurt and he felt his jaw tense up completely, his eyes feeling a bit more moist along with it. He did a good job of hiding that though, Keeping a straight face and pretending like it didn't matter to him at all, was becoming very very difficult indeed. Craven frowned at Romeo's surprise at the fact that it was Gia making the moves on him instead of the other way around.

"Is that so impossible? For someone to actually like me Romeo? Instead of me running after them?"
Craven was kinda hurt by the fact that Romeo thought him that unattractive that he couldn;t get someone to wanna kiss him. The punches and playfulness created a knot in his throat. He was pulled into Romeo's chest again but this time his arms didn't wrap around Romeo. He was stupid. He'd been reading too many fairy tales. This wasn't Mr. Darcy! God damn it. This was painful! Another punch to his gut making Craven groan against Romeo's chest as he pulled away.

The unfinished sentence... that stumble and stutter of words. Craven stared at Romeo for a long time when the question came about Gia. His face twisted into an angry sneer before he moved to curl up on his bed eyes locking on the window.
"Does it really matter to you what happens between me and Gia? It's time for you to leave Romeo. "
It became evident now that nothing would ever happen between him and Romeo except for him to be a little plaything for Romeo to entertain himself with.

This didn't ever have to reach Gia. She didn't need to be hurting too. He was suffering enough for both of them. His eyes snapped shut as he kept himself from crying. He couldn't cry. It was embarressing in front of Romeo.
"Just go... Just Get out of my room. You never liked me. You never will like me. Just ..go..."
Craven hissed between his teeth at his crush.

“And you’re pretty confident it’s safe for you to just leave your body here? With me? Alone?” asked the boy with a laugh, obviously oblivious to the turmoil inside his friend’s head. While he knows there’s some tension, apparently Romeo thinks the little banter between them’s helpful in toning it down and is determined to keep it up for a while. Just how dense can a guy get?

This time he let Craven pull away from him, leaning down on his arms as he tilted his head up and looked at the ceiling. While the other boy’s musing had been right for the past few days, the sudden mention of Craven seeing Gia a few minutes earlier stirred something up from within the Irish boy. It’s a relatively foreign feeling to him, which is probably why he can’t even put a finger on what it was. And he felt bad about it, not only because it seems so dark and uncomfortable, but also because their whole arrangement had been to keep emotions at bay.

Let’s not forget that he was the one who suggested that in the first place.

“Wait what? Where’d that come from?” Romeo felt extremely lost. Just where had he implied that? He’s fairly sure he wasn’t all that abrasive, ‘cause he’s told Craven much worse and the boy’s handled it well (in his usual Craven way, of course). Or is Craven becoming extra sensitive around him now? Why?

Clearly the boy still doesn’t understand – he thinks Craven’s agreeing to him is brought about by their mutual need for carnal release.

Why did Craven have to be a guy anyway? Why can't he just be a girl?

“Dude, I’m actually happy for you,” explained the Irish boy, “I mean, you can finally get yourself a girlfriend! I mean Gia’s nice, right?” It may not have sounded as sincere as he would’ve wanted it to sound, but in his mind, he’s actually happy for his shy friend.

With Craven staring straight at him, Romeo instinctively turned his eyes to the side, biting his lips out of embarrassment. “I don’t want to be the one to break you two up you know,” he muttered in a near inaudible voice, “You said it yourself, she’s a fairytale, and I don’t want to ruin it.”

That’s what he tells himself that he’s been thinking the moment he heard about the two being an item. Because according to him, no matter how douche-y he can get, not once would he be the cause of a break-up. And if Craven actually promised Gia before that fateful night, Romeo’d feel incredibly guilty, since it was technically him who made the first move (and didn’t actually give Craven an option to say no).

Which is why he’s with Craven on that one. Gia doesn’t need to know. So he’ll have to stay away from her from now on. Because he knows he can’t not think about such a secret whenever he’ll see her.

He was a little surprised at Craven’s words, but decided that it’d be best to simply leave. With his actions and words, he figured he’d made himself irredeemable in the boy’s eyes already. Maybe someday, but not now. “I’m sorry dude,” he said as he stood up and walked out the door, albeit more confused than ever before.
