Last night, when Vincent went to sleep, everything was normal. Moe was curled up in his arms, Sulphie was asleep at the foot of their bed, and he was happy. The minute he woke up this morning, he knew something was wrong. Moe was gone already, but that was par for the course, the little pixie boy liked to be on time for his classes, unlike Vin who only showed up when he felt like it.
The first thing he noticed was that he wasn't voraciously hungry. Two pieces of cold pizza from the fridge was enough to satisfy him, which was something almost unheard of. He would normally go through enough food in the mornings to feed a small army.
The second thing he noticed was that his train of thought wasn't jumping all over the place. He managed to go through his entire preening routine (yeah, that ego's not going anywhere) without so much as a single distraction. He didn't even stop to stare proudly at the collection of poor Evan's pants that were pinned to the wall.
And then he actually went to class and realized he already knew the things that the teacher was lecturing about. He didn't know how, but he knew the answer to every question. It freaked him out a little bit, but instead of making a scene, he left class and headed towards the lounge, taking up an armchair and sitting quietly for a long time as he just thought.
There was a whole bunch of stuff in his head that he knew he shouldn't know, but he did. For about an hour he sat there, filtering through words, facts, memories, and it dawned on him. He stood up on the chair, threw his hands up in the air, and shouted "I AM A GENIUS!" to everyone that was in the lounge. So much for not making a scene.
