Today was one of those days where it was Just. Too. Warm. Else, the Raines twins would've been outside, playing. Instead, they did nothing all morning, ate lunch, and decided it was probably important to accomplish something today so they could be sure to be completely free this weekend with their parents.
So instead of going outside, they ventured into a place they'd only been once before in their six years of being here: The Student Lounge
Even the name sounded intimidating. Like it was a place for people who did nothing but study. All the time. Dull people. Or kids who started drinking coffee at the age of 5. Let's face it, no true kid likes coffee. To prove it, Gabriel and Uriel were definitely still kids at heart, and still hated coffee, and to be honest, probably always would.
Therefore, drinking coffee admitted your transition into adulthood. As such, they'd never drink coffee.
Thus, they had two water bottles of chocolate milk and a couple books as they meandered carefully into the lounge. There were a few people here already, most of them drinking what they could only assume to be coffee and reading very large books full of tiny print.
Or maybe Gabriel and Uriel were just letting themselves see what they expected to see. They found a little table off to the corner, settling down into the chairs, and giving each other little smirks before they settled into reading.
Only they weren't school books, or books on their usual subjects. Gabriel was reading a book about reactions (which kind of fell into his usual subject matter) and Uriel was reading a book about.. traps. Were they planning something? Were they just expanding their knowledge? They did like to read, and could certainly read plenty faster than the average human, so maybe they'd just gotten bored and had moved into different reading materials.
Or maybe they were plotting to rid the world of coffee forever. Either way, they weren't reading their usual subjects, and kept glancing around the room cautiously as if at any moment, it - or they, from being in here - might explode.
