Thread Roulette: Cafeteria Alphabet

Oh no! Someone's started a food fight in the cafeteria, and Adrianna Carstyn, Lucy Holiday, Craven Grimley, and Max Rose are caught in the middle of it. Participate, or run away, but you have to do something or you'll get spaghetti in your hair.

Rules: Each piece of dialogue must start with the next letter of the alphabet. The first person starts with the given letter, and then the next person uses the next letter to start their character's words.

First to post has to start dialogue with the letter R.

[Adrianna Carstyn]

Today was definitely NOT a day she wanted to be stuck in the cafeteria, but her coach had given her specific instructions...eat something. She usually ate after classes were over. The cafeteria was just a disaster area and she really didn't want to socialize when she'd rather be dancing in the auditorium like every other day.

This day, just so happened to be one of the worst days to actually go to eat lunch. She didn't know who she'd sit with and she didn't really know if she'd be eating or not. Over all, not a good start off. She had gotten her lunch, spaghetti, unfortunately was on the menu. She decided to sit in a corner of the cafeteria, looking as loner-ish as possible. Since Adrianna didn't really eat lunch often, she didn't know who she could sit with. She didn't noticed anyone she recognized.

As soon as she sat down and started eating, some random kid jumped up and screamed food fight. "Really?! Can't I just have one day to eat my food and not wear it!" She frowned, her voice luckily not all that loud. She didn't want to be a target. Especially since she was one of those girls who took pride in their appearance and it would take a weak to wash spaghetti out of her hair completely.

The food fight raged on and from all sides, food was being thrown. Adrian hadn't gotten far enough away and was blocking the flying noodles with her tray.

[Max Rose]

"Sally forth, my good men!" yelled Max, taking her usual spot for a food fight. "Sally forth and defeat our horrible foes as they line up before us!"

What is Max's usual spot for a food fight, you might ask. It's quite easy to picture and understand, actually. Max usually found herself in the middle of the cafeteria, since she'd staked out a table there several years ago and declared it the territory of the sovereign Rose nation, all ye who enter beware. Thus it became a shelter for quiet types that could deal with having an incredibly loud redhead be at the center. Or, you know, the nerds who realized that Max was super hot. At any rate, she was standing atop one of said tables, a glob of spaghetti in either hand, ready to fling.

For Max became a friggin' machine whenever these things happened. Went berserk. Absolutely friggin' crazy. She'd already stuck breadsticks in her pockets, enjoying the phallic symbols jutting out from her waist. Literally the third volley of food had landed in her hair, creating white streaks of dressing among the brilliant red strands. To top it off, Max had used spaghetti sauce to paint battle lines on her face.

Shouting incoherently, Max flung the giant armful of spaghetti toward an unsuspecting (or possibly protesting) target. For it was war,

And Max was a warrior.

[Craven Grimley]

Craven was just one of those quiet types that chose, that particular day, to have lunch with his room mate because he couldn't stand being around Gia or Adrianna. The girls were all sulky lately and he was right about ready to strangle both ot them. Today his favourite dish was on the menu. Spaghetti, because that was what he grew up eating most of. Yes, his nanny wasn't really good at cooking and when the shef had his days off, she was forced to make them all sorts, most of which was spaghetti, mince meat and one of those sauce bottles for pasta.

Craven ducked when the first glob of food came his way which is when his eyes caught Adrianna and a smirk touched his features. Max blocked his veiw by getting onto the table, causing him to follow suite. He was tired of being the guy hiding underneath the table when food fights happened. He was taking a page out of Tanner's book... Or Max's as the case might have been right now. And like Hell would he be there beside Adrian, jumping to her defence and protecting her. From what? Fun? Craven rolled his eyes, crouched down and scooped up a hand full of gooey spag.

"Target Located General Rose! And Firing!"
Craven teasingly saluted Rose and threw a big mess of spag straight at Adrianna while she kept her face open and her side defended with the tray. She was sitting a mere table away so he was sure to hit at least her chest area if nothing else.

[Lucy Holiday]

Once again Lucy was having to force herself to eat. The smells of the cafeteria caused her stomach to pitch and roll, but Lulu knew it wouldn't last long. All she needed was a few minutes for her anti nausea meds to kick in and the steriod hunger would do the rest. Sure enough, by the time she got to the front of the line her mouth was watering over the thick glob of spaghetti piled up on her plate. Lulu drooled over it as she plopped herself down at a table near the corner. The social butterfly abandoned her usual quest for company and simply dug in to the food in front of her. A few heaping bites were all she had managed before the chaos broke out.

A food fight! Awesomesauce! And for once, Lucy wasn't the one to start it. "Unbelieveable! And this time it's not even my fault! The grin on her face was broad and the enthusiasm in her voice was thick. Eager to join in the mischeif, Lucy gobbled down one last satisfying bite before hoarding ammunition. This sort of chaos was exactly what the petite brunette needed to get some of her stress out before it made her explode. Unfortunately ammunition was in short supply at the moment, so Lucy did what Lucy did best - she improvised.

After a brief moment of concentration Lucy had an entire brigade of breadsticks hovering in the air around her. Giggling wildly she sent them flying through the air in random directions. Her purple tipped fingernails dug into the slimy leftovers on her plate as she threw in a glob of real spaghetti for good measure. The glob flew off toward a battling troop nearby. Of course no one would actually be able to feel them, but the sight and smell should be convincing enough to buy her some time. Lucy let out a squee as a whole pile of noodles landed in her lap. Perfect! More ammunition!

[Adrianna Carstyn]

Of course, everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves. Everyone had that luxury of letting go and having fun. Adrianna had it too, she just didn't know how to do it. Not by acting like a child at least. She'd given up on being a child once her mother had gotten sick and she never really got it back. She didn't have that immature, care-free side that the whole cafeteria seemed to be showing, but she wanted it. She wanted to have fun.

She hadn't really been paying much attention to who was throwing the nasty stuff at her, but she caught a glimpse of one who had a wicked smirk on her face and she knew it'd be bad because she didn't have much time to react. Damn him. Good thing she wasn't too worried about the clothes, they were work-out wear anyway.

Adrianna gave him a mocking frown and looked down at the blob that had hit her, "Victim...I've become a victim. Well then, looks like I'll just have to fight back a bit. Screw being a superficial girl today. I'm gonna have me some fun." She looked down at the plate in front of her and with a look of disgust and strange curiosity, she grabbed a handful of her untouched spaghetti. And she went wild with it. Flinging noodles in every direction, but one handful would be headed directly at her opponent. The one who'd hit her first. Craven.

[Max Rose]

"WINNING!" yelled Max, stretching the word out as much as possible. She'd realized that Craven was on her side, even though she'd technically forgotten that she'd even been having lunch with him for a few seconds there, the frenzy of battle and all that. No matter. They would cut a swath through their opponents, drive their enemies before them and hear the lamentations of their women.

Noodles hung from both hands and had been looped about Max. That was one thing about standing atop a table and yelling at people: You became a target yourself. Not that Max minded that she was going to need plenty of time in the shower after this. At the rate Craven was going though, he was going to find himself dragged in there to help clean.

Max hopped off a table, nearly flipping it in the process. She reached down, trying to locate more food, and eventually located a tray laying on the ground. Grinning madly, she picked it up, tested it, then placed it onto the ground. She slid it a few feet, scooping up a generous helping of spaghetti, one mixed with nearly everything else that had been flung. She leaned back to balance it, scanning to find a target, before launching the giant load, becoming for a few seconds a catapult for food.

[Craven Grimley]

Craven was so preoccupied with hitting Adri that he hardly noticed the bread stick coming his way. He half ducked behind Max expecting to have felt the breadstick but instead he felt nothing. Just air. Craven peeked around Max at the direction said breadstick had come from and saw a girl there proudly throwing about breadsticks and spaghetti that was floating in thin air. It made Craven raise his eyebrows in surprise. And Max thought his power was cool. Just then a big glob of spaghetti hit his face and he flinched wrinkling his whole nose up.

Craven quickly wiped at the glob and another hit came. And another. He was surprised to see that Adrianna was joining in the fun. Finally she was letting loose and having some real fun, despite the fact that she was all messed up and envious of not having someone in her life. He should never have brought Gia up to Adri and they could have both still been the two single friends. He thought that she'd be happier then. It didn't matter. He had his hands more the full right now with his puppet girlfriend, his reluctant lover and of course the mess he'd made of his hair clothes and ... well the cafeteria.

It wasn't all his fault. He was a follower and not a leader. Max had kinda been the leader in this one so technically, she was to blame. He reached down and gathered a gob of spaghetti throwing it at Lucy who'd decided that they needed fake breadsticks thrown at them.
"X-men ain't got nothing on us. Do I get to be a superhero now Max, instead of a supervillian..."
He called over the chaos half watching Max's back like they were some sort of team. Her being the hero and him being the sidekick.

Max hopped off the table leaving him to be the main target for a whole LOAD of spaghetti balls. Craven gave a little scream and ducked away from all of it balling tightly to protect his chest, face and crotch.

[Lucy Holiday]

Noodles to the left of her, noodles to the right of her - NOODLES EVERYWHERE! Her imaginary bread stick brigade had bought her just enough time to stock up. Lucy finally had all the ammunition she needed. Her area was littered with slimy sauced noodles, bits and pieces of destroyed salad, broken bread sticks (yes, real ones) and globs of gooey jello. It was a food fight heaven! Her giggles turned to whole hearted laughter as she watched the flame haired girl standing on the table an declaring victory. Uh oh, the cute boy near by was on to her illusion! The look on his face made that quite clear as a bread stick vanished before it impacted him. Lucy gave him a playful wave as he targeted her.

Pandy stood up just in enough time that Craven's glob of spaghetti splashed against her legs and slithered to the floor. Lucy watched it slide down and scooped up as much of it as she could. Armed with one fist full of noodles and one fist full of wilted lettuce, she plastered a wicked grin on her face. Her Hershey colored eyes locked on to the flame haired girl and the dark haired boy. Just as she was about to fire, her eyes flew wide as Craven was pelted with noodles.

Scanning the crowd, Lucy found that the quiet girl complaining about being a victim was now in rapid fire mode. "You go, girl! Let loose, let those noodles fly! Warrior Princesses, unite!" Of course Lucy had nothing against Max and Craven. In fact Max was beautiful enough to make her blush...but she had always been one to side with the underdog. Victim turned warrior had earned her allegiance! After throwing a wink at Adrianna, Lucy emptied her hands and sent the left overs in Max and Craven's direction.

The lettuce soared toward the pair just as Max leaped off of the table. Smart girl -poor boy! Before Lucy had a chance to react, Max had reloaded and jumped back into action - and the restocked arsenal of food was heading straight for Lucy! Lucy squealed and dropped to the floor. Squatting on her ankles, Lucy hid her face and covered her head with her hands. As the massive glob sailed past her, bits of loose noodles, diced tomatoes and wilted lettuce rained down on her back. That was an impressive attack. Determined not to be bested, Lucy duck walked across the slippery floor toward Adrianna. Hopefully the fellow brunette would appreciate an ally. Along the way, Lucy plotted to cause confusion with yet another illusion. After a pause to concentrate, there were suddenly three Lucys scampering off in different directions.

[Adrianna Carstyn]

"Zut!" Adri through her hands in the air and cursed in French slightly flustered at being hit. She was happy that she'd gotten Craven though. That was her goal and now she would have to dodge hits from everyone else. Max was pretty damn good at this and she was terrified that Max would make her an even bigger target.

The other girl she noticed was one she'd never met. She seemed like she was set though too. That's when the girl started making her way towards Adrian. As the girl got closer, Aid got a better feel for the power. Illusions, as if the duplicates of the girl weren't enough to prove it. That was merely confirmation. Huh, two illusionists on one team. Now that could get dangerous. Sure, Adrian had no real experience with it, but Lucy did and Adri would get the same amount of control as her so she'd be okay.

Adrian smiled wider and continued flinging food in every direction. This was sort of fun, maybe not something she'd do every day, but it was needed today. She needed to let loose and have fun, this was just helping her do that.

[Max Rose]

"All or nothing, baby," crowed Max. Naturally she was collecting more and more food upon her body, so much that it looked like she'd already been rolling in it. Max was pretty sure she could feel pudding dripping down into her shoes, and had a feeling that a good hosing was going to follow this.

Someone cheated, using her powers to copy herself, as a handful of Lucys took off in different directions. That was the sign for others to get started too, not that they weren't likely to have been subtly using their powers all along. Now people were disappearing, flying into the air, flinging food with telekinetic force, reappearing, phasing through stuff, and doing all kinds of craziness. Not that Max could actually retaliate in that fashion, what with her power being rather up close and personal.

That hardly stopped her from getting creative. she loaded food on trays, then jumped on them, flinging massive amounts of the stuff into the air. Half the time, Max got as covered as anyone, but that hardly mattered. Wasn't like they weren't likely to just start picking stuff off the floor and hurling it now.

[Craven Grimley]

Craven let out another yelp as realization of being abandoned by Max set in. Damn. He should have realized. Flame haired girl didn't give a rat's ass when it came to war about anyone but herself. Craven was drenched in red bolognaise sauce and strings of spaghetti hanging from his shoulder and stuck to his hair. Just when Craven thought the fire was over, a piece of lettuce hit him in the face and his eyes shot to Lucy a slight pout plastered across his face before he got the hint. They were now teaming up together.

While Max was going at it solo and leaving him to get splattered. The dark heads were teaming up together. That was it! It was far better being under the table then ontop! Craven twisted round and hurried to the edge of the table. The table being all slippery and smooth didn't help a hell of a lot and he found his feet sliding out from underneath him. Craven hit the table hard and scrunched up his face in pain.

"Back... owww."
Craven groaned before sliding down underneath the table instead. Too many Lucys, A shoot-happy companion and Adrianna NOT on his side. Bad new dor Craven. He watched through the table bottoms as Lucy made her way to Adri. It smelled awful in here. He smelled awfull and he was about to puke any second. He wished he had crows to bring in dead cats now. He'd totally have all these girls running out so quick that it would be a clear victory for him.

[Lucy Holiday]

Sympathy. Ugh! Stupid human emotion. Lucy actually felt sympathy for the dude as he pouted over her lettuce attack. Shaking her head, she pushed the little twinge of guilt aside as she made her way toward Adrianna. One thing though...duck walking was not a good idea! Lucy only made a few waddles of progress before her thighs began to burn. Not to mention the floor was slick with pudding, sauce and other slime! Abandoning her crouch, Lucy made it back up to her feet and dashed over to the girl's table as quickly as she could. The slippery floor took her traction away. Lucy ended up gliding through a puddle of ranch dressing. Squealing loudly, Lucy flung her arms out and grabbed onto the edge of the girl's table to stop herself.

Lucy grinned up at the girl as she got her feet back under control. The Lucy illusions faded away as her cheeks glowed pink from the effort. "Combine forces? This is getting wild! You know what they say, two head are better than one and two brunettes are nothing but trouble." Glancing back toward her attackers, Lucy saw that the really aggressive red head had abandoned her partner completely. Poor guy! The petite girl cringed as she watched him howl in pain over his back injury. Hmmm...he didn't seem too much of a threat under there.

Lucy quickly reassessed the situation. The cafeteria was total chaos, and Lucy loved it! Sure, a food fight was fun - but a meta food fight was pure adventure! As Lucy began plotting her next tactical illusion, a whole shower of spaghetti and salad rained down on her head! Gasping, Lucy looked around to find out that the source was none other than the red haired warrior jumping on trays and sending them soaring. Her lips quirked into a smirk. She couldn't make anyone feel her illusions, but she could make them smell them! A plan! A plan was forming!
