Sitting Alone.. (OPEN)

[Madison Knight]

She hated being new. Madison was not the biggest social person but she wished she could be. She had gotten a tray of food from the line before sitting down at a table no one was sitting at and looking around. She noticed little cliques everywhere and sighed looking down at the food after a moment. She wondered if she'd meet anyone cool around here. After another sigh she poked her food with the fork and started eating.

She dug threw her bag and pulled out a text book. She decided having a pitty party was not worth it and she had a little work to do to catch up with the kids in her classes and why not do it now. She cracked open her english book reading as she ate.

"You're in my seat, newkid." Rhett took a seat diagonally from the brunette girl.

It wasn't really -his- sit per se, it's not like he owned it since for that you had to either be extremely popular or bad-ass, and those kids don't sit in the cafeteria, but he had been taking that same sit for quite a while as of lately, and since it wasn't busy lunch hour, most people took their usual places. Contrary to what it may have sounded like, having the, clearly, new girl occupying his seat didn't bug the blonde. Why would it? It was just fun to bother new students, welcoming them properly to what Hammel is really about: a bunch of powered kids thirsting for drama.

If you think of it well enough, Rhett was just doing this poor girl a favor.

"It's fine, you can keep it for today." He looked at his food while twisting his lips. He'll never get used to how un-fun the cafeteria food is. "Tomorrow, however, you have to pay rent if you want to keep it."

Oh, how scary. Was that all he could do? Maybe he wasn't as troublemaker as he... who was he kidding. He really didn't want to be a trouble or drama-maker. Certain Asians around school are better for those jobs. Rhett was much better for the retaliation-kind-of jobs, and this girl didn't really had anything on him.

If you think of it well enough, he was actually being nice by starting a conversation.

"I-I'm sorry." she said sitting up quickly wishing she hadn't come once again. She was really lonely her two best friends being normal were back at their old school, at their old table that no one bothered them at. She looked down at her book when she heard him say she could stay today and she sighed looking him in the eyes. She was timid and shy but the comment about rent, really did not scare her.

"Are you trying to get me to believe you'll try to 'take my lunch money' if I sit here again?" she said boldly not sure why but comments like that always seemed to annoy her. she sighed shaking her head and running her fingers threw her hair. "I am going to have to call you out on that, though it may end up in me getting hurt." she said and closed her text book pushing it aside and eating her food. She kept her eyes on him to afraid to take them off.

"And my name isn't 'newkid' its Madison, thanks for asking by the way." she said knowing he had not asked. She really wish she knew why she was suddenly so brave, she didn't even know his power let alone who he was maybe she'd end up getting hurt after all. She sighed at the thought.

[Rhett Goddard]

As she stuttered her apology, Rhett only eyed her from the corner of his eye. Was she really thinking he was a bully? Wasn't he missing the big muscles, football blazer and a blonde cheerleader clung to his arm? Yes, Rhett was not exactly the good boy on school either, but if someone was to mistake him for a bully, he was more a of psychological one, rather actually, and blatantly, attempting to take lunch-money from children. Fortunately for her own image, the girl stood up to him verbally. It didn't surprise him, but he wasn't actually expecting this either.

"People don't take jokes well around here, do they?" He said without looking at her, more focused on what was in his plate.

He launched his spork into it, leaving it stuck into the meat. The fact that the food didn't look appealing at all made Rhett realize that maybe he just wasn't that hungry. He looked at his watch, at least an hour until his next class. He sighed and looked back at the girl.

"Just what are you staring at, huh?" He leaned back in his seat. Her mention of her first name made her last name spark into Rhett's mind. "And you'r last name is Knight, I know that." He rolled his eyes and once again landed his view at his plate. "It doesn't mean 'newkid' is any less accurate, and if by any reason you happen to feel like you may have a problem with that," He placed his hands behind his neck. "well you can't just stop being new. But you can't really, can you? So you're screwed. And stuck with it." He turned his face to look at her. "Don't worry, though, unfortunately that 'new' smell fades pretty quickly."

She sighed softly hearing about how he was joking and he told her her last name she just shook her head. "I don't want to be 'newkid' she said miserably as she sat back in the chair putting her fork down and crossed her arms unhappily. She did not want to be the new kid but she was paranoid about doing something that would make it worse then being a new kid. She sighed after a moment looking at him. "whats your name anyway?" she asked tilting her head slightly.

"Since you seem to know mine isn't it fair that I know yours?" She ran her fingers threw her hair again a nervous action. She was trying to be cool but was failing pretty bad at it. She sighed softly. "sorry if I didn't get your joke, I don't know anyone here so I don't know who to avoid..."

[Adrianna Carstyn]

Adrianna was skipping practice in the Auditorium for the day. She could practice any time she wanted. Coach never denied her the chance to practice especially after her incident with the ankle. She was either running or practicing so that she could keep her ankle strong. If it gave out during a performance, she'd be totally screwed. And that was definitely not an option for the perfectionist.

Eating was one of the things that'd probably help her get stronger. The girl was a twig, a healthy twig, but she still needed potassium and calcium in her diet. Lunch today for her was milk and a banana. It wasn't much, but it was enough to get her through until dinner. She was making her way through the cafeteria with her lunch in hand. The different feelings of powers surged through the large room and she tried to push past it. It was one of the few downfalls of her power, but it was sorta cool at the same time.

Adri passed by a table and got a familiar twinge from a power and a not-so familiar feeling as well. Sure, she'd felt duplication before, but the person was different. She glanced over and saw a younger girl sitting at a table, and across from her was exactly who she'd thought it was. Rhett Goddard. The boy she'd had a rough meeting with, but soon got over it. Yes, he'd been involved in one of her most dramatic events of her time at Hammel, but she didn't mind him anymore. The hard feelings had vanished.

She bit her lip as she debated on whether she should save the poor girl or just pass by. Her friendly instincts won and she set her food next to the girl. "Rhett, is it really necessary to pick on the younger students? I know you try for the 'I'm tough' exterior thing, but it doesn't always work." She smiled at him with no bitterness in it. This was the first time she'd seen him since he had towed Izzy out of her dorm after being drugged by Fifi. They'd sort of mended their bad first impression, but she knew it didn't make them friends.

"Don't worry hun, he's not one of the bad ones you gotta avoid. And neither am I. I'm Adrianna," Her smile was polite and kind. Much as her personality was.

"Too bad you can't fix it," He went back to stare at what little sad lunch he had. Maybe he should start cooking and bringing some food, though he doubted he could make anything better. "since you are, as I have managed to say far too many times now, new."

Rhett took his cellphone from his pocket, wondering what his boyfriend was up to, but he had no missed calls or texts from him, which usually meant he was probably busy. Maybe he should surprised the ginger by randomly texting him. Maybe. Just maybe. Nah. He placed his cellphone back in his pocket as Madison continued talking. He sighed with a very subtle smile.

"It's Allex." He said as he noticed Adrianna walking up to them. And the party is now complete. "Oh, but am I picking on you, dearest Ms. Knight?" He looked at the new kid before turning to look at Adrianna. "Well, at least you know me for who I really am deep inside, apparently." He said rather monotonously while looking up, which he thought was about enough to show just how sarcastic he was being. "What an almost imponderable joy."

Rhett wondered what made Adrianna think Rhett was not one of the bad ones. If anything, he still thought he in the complete opposite of her best friends list, and he probably was, but he didn't know she thought of him as one of the good guys. Then again, he thought the words she had chosen. She said he was not a bad guy, but she didn't say he was a good one either. Neutral. He liked that, not because he was actually neutral, but because that way when he chooses a side and shows his cards, and he will eventually, people like her will most-likely not expect it.

"Oh lookie, brand new and you already have an new best-friend-forever." Rhett crossed his arms while looking at Madison. "My best of wishes to both of you, I'm almost jealous."

She sighed with relief noticeably when the girl came over and sat with them. She saw the very light food she was eating but didn't think much of it. She had already lost her appetite feeling like she had to defend her self with being new. She glared at the boy sitting across form her. She was already done with the conversation but was distracted, momentarily by the girl. "I am Madison but you can call me Maddy." She looked at the boy. "you can call me Madison not Ms. Knight." she said firmly. She sighed after a moment shifting on the chair. She wanted to get up and walk away before she lost her temper.

"Its nice to meet you though, Adrianna." she said smiling. "Are you sure about him not being a bad guy to be avoided? He does sort of seem like someone I should, Between the attitude and 'jokes'." she did not mean to talk about him liek he wasn't there but, that was seemingly her mood. She sighed after a moment and looked at him.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to act like that I just, ugh. As mentioned before, I hate being new, and not knowing people and you are acting a little bit like an ass." she said pushing her plate away officially losing her appetite.

Adrianna smiled at the girl and rolled her eyes at Rhett. "Nice try with the Alex thing by the way. It might have worked on Craven, but I kinda ruined it for you here." She watched as Rhett went on his spew of sarcasm and waited until he was done.

Before she could get a word out, Madison spoke and she shrugged, "He could be worse. Trust me, there are a few people that are much worse than him. I think you'd agree with me on that wouldn't you Rhett?" She asked, though she wasn't expected him to actually agree with her. She had no clue what he thought about Charlotte or Mia, though he was sure Zac wasn't really a friend of his.

Adrian laughed at the younger girl's bluntness and looked up at Rhett, "Wow, seems like this one's got some spunk. You keep that up, you'll do just fine here. Don't let people walk all over you, there are some who will try." She thought back to the trio she'd thought were the worst people at Hammel. Sure, there were more, but they had the worst reputations and many cruel involvements.

"You wanna know who to watch for? You hear the names Zac LaRousse, Mia Keystone or Charlotte Styles, and you run. Unless you want to be verbally or physically abused by any of those three, I've only dealt with Zac, but I've heard the girls are just as brutal." She said in a more serious tone to warn the girl. She wasn't exactly sure if Zac, Mia or Charlotte would take it easy on the younger girl, but she wasn't sure Madison wanted to take any chances like that.

"Oh, I know I can," Rhett wasn't calling Madison by her last name out of respect, it was more of a "what sounds better at the moment" kind of thing. "I just chose not to."

And BAM. Now, Rhett didn't particularly disliked Adrianna, he thought she didn't deserve such enough importance like to be disliked, but it definitely sounded like Adrianna wanted that spot. As much as Rhett enjoyed smart verbal competition, the key word was smart. There were too many people in the world that liked to pretend being smartasses, but few of them were actually smart. Rhett liked to believe he was one of them, and he had met at least a couple of others that landed the same spot, but Adrianna was definitely not one of them. Rhett was pretty fine with being antagonized, but being antagonized by someone that has absolutely nothing on him? Rhett was going to prove Adrianna right, he could indeed be worse. And he was.

"You know, Mercedes, just because most people call you Adrianna doesn't mean your name is not Mercedes as well." He kept himself being leant back in his chair. "You know, such as hers," He cocked his head a little towards Madison. "is Leigh, and just as your current bullseyed guy's name's Karl with a K." He let the words sink in for a moment, but continued talking before she could respond to it. "What kind of name is Karl, with a K, anyway? Not like Lani is any better anyway. Then again you've always had a passion for strangely named boys hadn't you? I mean, Talen, Craven, Lani, do you look for names originality besides charming chivalry?" Rhett leaned forward and placed his elbows in the table, using his hands to support his head. "I don't blame you thought, most people in Hammel are actually weirdly named and you've just... happened to have liked a high quantity of guys here at some point. But you know, that's quite off topic, I'm sure you don't want me talking about so many private stuff here out loud, so let me get back in track," He took a deep breath and continued saying slowly. "next time you want to look like you know more than me or just plainly try make me look bad, you might as well use what is probably your most unique ability, power mimicry, on me and copy my ESP. That won't put you anywhere near me, of course not, but it will make your attempts a little more time-worthy for me." He leaned back once again and rolled his eyes. "Although now that I think about it your best ability is probably mopping all over Hammel because of -insert here pretty much anything about your life-, so let's scratch that part."

Being done with his little speech to Adrianna, he finally turned to Madison. No. She hadn't done anything wrong, she didn't deserve being treated that badly just now. Adrianna was right indeed, Rhett was not anywhere near the worse guys at Hammel. Unlike the trinity she mentioned, he very unusually went and verbally abuse someone who's not looking for it.

"Now, Ms. Knight," He said warmly to Madison. "that was acting a bit like an ass. And this is me being very friendly." He turned towards Adrianna again. "Word of advice, Lani is unsure about his sexuality, or at least he was not that long ago. So heads up, you don't want history to repeat, do you?"

"If thats you friendly I'm pretty sure I'll be avoiding you even if you are not ones she warned me about. And don't mention my middle name. I hate BOTH that your calling me so once again I'll say, Call me Madison or nothing at all." she said and looked at Adrianna. "your perception of him may be wrong, All I see is an ass who seems to be beating you verbally." she crossed her arms and sighed. She had only been here a short time and already disliked someone. She felt helpless when she ran out of things to say to him and just sat there silently. She hated her middle name with a passion and didn't like to be called something so formal by another student. it just felt weird.

She also felt bad for the other girl that he was being such a jerk to her about things, it did not seem fair for him to use his ability to be so rude. She sighed once again trying to calm down. Maybe she needed to go for a run or something before the next class started. that usually helped her feel better.

[Adrianna Carstyn]

Adrianna had only been joking. Innocent remarks were all she ever made. Little did she knew that she'd opened a flood gate of cruel comments. It seemed she was not on as good of terms with Rhett as she'd thought. The girl was far too oblivious for her own good. Thinking that she'd actually be able to be friends with Rhett was crazy. Not even friends though. She'd expected being acquaintances, was that really so terrible?

She kept a polite smile on her face and waited for him to finish, "Wasn't it you telling her that no one could take a joke at this school? It would seem that you are much the same." Adri was keeping her tone light and nonchalant for the time being, but beneath her carefree exterior, there was a twinge of pain. She'd been over Talen for a good while now. She didn't even hate him. She didn't blame him for cheating, she blamed him for not trying. But the boy in front of her knew she still had trouble with it. She had been hurt because in some ways Tal had been her first love. Upon first meeting each other they'd had more chemistry than her and Luke had in their entire relationship. It may not have been love, but it was strong enough to hurt.

Craven's name struck a deeper nerve. Things were on the mend now, but she still didn't like hearing about her feelings from someone else that didn't understand as much as he thought he did. He knew Craven, but he didn't know her. Not in the true sense of the word. He knew what he got from his power, which was a lot, but nothing deep.

And then there was Lani. The boy she had simply talked to. Yes, she liked talking to him and they got along great. But she hadn't thrown herself at him, nor did she expect him to like her. She didn't see him going for a girl that was damaged goods. Rhett was right. She moped around Hammel because she had a lot of problems and very few people to talk to. Craven was out of the question. Robbie was busy. They were the only two people she went to when she needed to vent. And she could no longer do that. So she resorted to moping.

"And thanks for the warning, but I can manage. I'll be expecting the worst possible outcome, especially if he's hanging around you at all. I appreciate your concern, but we weren't talking about me." Her tone held no anger, no frustration, just simplicity. She refused to let on what she felt. His power probably would pick up on it, but she didn't care. Adrian turned to Madison as she spoke, "He may be an ass sometimes, but he's nothing compared to the other three. Imagine him, but worse and you'll get a bit more of an understanding of why I don't consider him being too horrible."

"Oh, no one can." Rhett affirmed Adrianna's question. Perhaps this school was indeed taking a toll on him. "Fine." Rhett said to Madison's rambling about her name. "Nothing-at-all will be. Although excuse me if I short it just to 'nothing'." He said seriously, not feeling like an extra-sarcastic tone was needed by now anyway. "You know, because I think we're good friends enough to call each other by nicknames."

The blonde was beyond fine with the newkid telling him she was going to avoid him as well. If anything, it was lucky for him, as much as he liked bothering people up, it was always easier not to. Being called an ass made him remember once again of Odion, who never got tired of calling him that, but if there was anything amusing about it, and there was not, was that the girl kept talking to Adrianna as if Rhett weren't there for some seconds, not long after she had already said she didn't mean to act like that. There was no reason to be surprised anyway, it's not like hes ever wanted the attention for himself. If anything, he'd have liked to have invisibility as a power, but he'd never trade his ESP for anything.

"Oh, don't worry Mercy," He smiled softly. "blondes are not my kind of thing and I wouldn't do that to you. Again." And it was again about just how the mentioned trio and how good Rhett was compared to them. He didn't quite feel the same way. He had personally met two of the three, and they weren't horrible, they were... interesting. Particularly more if compared with the likes of Adrianna and Madison, for example. If anything, he should be hanging out with them and not with these two, but there was no interest in neither party for that to happen. At least as of yet, anyway. "They're not that bad," He said to Nothing-at-all. "you just can't give them weapons to attack you. Although for that you have to remember everything can and will be used against you when the right time comes, as I just proved." He remembered what was perhaps their evilest master-plan to date and looked at Adrianna for a moment before returning his atention to Madison. "At least it's fairly safe to get triple-x with someone on campus now since I doubt they'd pull the same trick twice, so consider yourself arriving at the happy-Hammel-times."
