RC didn’t know what do think about all this. He’d heard about the prank at The Talk; word travelled fast, and contrary to popular belief he did have friends. What had really solidified everything for him was when he’d heard JD, his roommate, getting chewed out by another student for his hand in the matter. The whole thing…it made his stomach turn. Contact embarrassment set in anytime he even thought about it. And JD was a good guy! He couldn’t think of anything that would make him do something so low down…
That was until he heard about the masterminds.
He should have known.
He’d never gotten along with Zac, and it was only recently that he’d actually started disliking his teammate. LaRousse was egocentric and rude, mean on almost every occasion. He was a bully. RC could usually let his comments slide, but it bugged him. It really bugged him. Having always been the easy-going one, RC was caught off guard by his rage on the entire matter.
Zac had not only broken the law and gotten away with it, but he’d possibly ruined some people’s lives. And that Misato kid?
RC had to take a break in his laps, shaking his shaggy hair free of pool water as he glowered at the poolside, thinking what he would have done if one of those people had been one of his siblings. Velma or Conrad, exposed like that? Or worse, one of the little ones if they had been old enough? The thought of someone putting Jean or Elle’s or the twins’ business on display like that…
RC growled quietly and pulled himself out of the pool, taking in several deep breaths to calm his nerves. It was going to affect his next mock swim meet if he didn’t reel in his anger correctly. Even if he was just swimming for kicks against fellow Hammelites, he needed to focus. LaRousse could be bothered with later. RC doubted administration would let him compete, even if he was a talent in the pool.
