If Avi was a good normal girl she wouldn't be here. If Avi was able to stand her english class she wouldn't be here.If Avi was a perfect person she wouldn't be here.

Alas Avi was none of those things.

This is how she found herself sitting in her pool chair. in just her bathing suit floating on the water, happily sleeping her English class away.

In all fairness she hadn't meant to skip English. She had a free period before that and went to the pool to sleep. She couldn't swim but she could float. With some help of course.

Avi had just woken up, to something wet. It seemed that in her sleep her chair had popped. And now it was gone from underneath her. Avi was struggling to get to the side. Unfortunately she was in the middle of the pool, in the deep end.

This led to one drowning Avi and a lot of waves being splashed.

Who would save her now?

While there were many things that Archer did not like about the school he was stuck at, an indoor pool was most certainly not one of them. Especially during the winter, seeing that it was too cold outside for him to fall asleep at the edge of the lake like he had before it got too cold. For the past hour he'd been lazing around by the pools edge in dog form, the eighty pound brown furred, white bellied bull arab enjoying the peace and quiet of an almost empty pool room.

Then of course Avi had to go and ruin it by rolling off her floaty chair.

The sound of splashing reached Archer's floppy ears, upon where he'd rise to his feet in a groggy sleep induced daze. Said daze would vanish the moment that he realized what was going on and with all haste he'd lunge forward and launch himself into the pool. The powerful, battle scarred canine surged through the water like a dog on a mission and soon he'd be submerged, shoving himself underneath Avi and exerting all the power in his canine body to carry her up and towards the surface.

Avi was trying her hardest to keep her head above water. That was what one was supposed to do right? It was hard trying to keep above water and she was quickly losing her breath.

Avi's power was coming into full force, it was trying to breath the air into her lungs, forcing pathways to keep her breathing. She was struggling desperately and when she thought all was lost she felt something underneath her.

Soon enough Avi reached the surface, and breathed in deeply, the air she so craved. Her arms reached out and she found a hold, it seemed she was on the edge of the pool. She pushed herself up and out coughing up water, sitting straight trying to get it all out of her lungs.

IN the midst of all this she realized a dog had saved her. She only knew one of those and the only dog she knew that was smart enough to save her was Archer. " Th... Thanks..." Avi managed to get out between coughs.

As for Archer, he'd simply go under again, resurfacing seconds later at full paddle so he could get his front paws onto the edge of the pool. It would take all but several seconds for the muscle bound canine to drag himself out of the water. Avi, for interrupting his nap, would get a face full of sprayed water as he shook out his coat, followed by a heavy bark and Archer proceeding towards where he'd left his gym bag.

He'd return a few moments later with a pair of black swim trunks. Tossing them into the water, Archer would go into the pool again and disappear under the water. Several seconds later, he'd appear again, this time in human form. The athletically muscled teenager would drag himself once again out of the water, this time in human form and wearing swim trunks. The only similarities between his human and dog form were the boar tusk scars and the fact that both were very well put together physically.

"Don't mention it," he said as he took a seat next to her on the edge of the pool.

Avi was coughing enough that it probably could be heard from outside. She was trying in desperation to catch her breath and it wasn't working that well. At least she was still breathing. When Archer Jumped up and barked at her, She shielded her eyes as the water came back further drenching her and getting her wet.

Deep breaths, in and out in and out. Avi was trying to calm herself and get the water out. She was finally starting to get calm, and be able to breathe right when another coughing fit came. Avi was now hunched over trying to stop. It wasn't working very well.

When Archer, non dog form, emerged from the water she glanced over at him and nodded, once again thanking him, in her way. "M' sorry". Avi didn't apologize very often and this time she meant it. She really was sorry and she really was grateful. Not sure what to say she just looked down and after a few minutes of silence mumbled again. "Thank you Archer."

It would be about now that Archer would fully realize that Avi was having trouble catching her breath. He'd get up and move over to the girl he'd dragged out of the water. "Lean forward, see if you can retch the rest of it out." He seemed to be a bit worried about Avi and for once there was actual concern in his words. Turns out Archer wasn't as big of a stone cold asshole as he let on. He'd move to rub and pat her back as he spoke.

"If you need to, stick a finger down your throat to get your gag reflex going," he suggested.

"Don't worry about it," he said, in response to her apology. It wasn't like she'd actually done anything wrong, he told himself. But then he knew how much of a habit it was for some people to apologize for things they shouldn't be sorry for. At this point, all that was important to Archer was making sure that he did not have to help her to the infirmary.

Avi was still coughing away, keeping herself breathing was the most important thing. She didn't notice as Archer came over and tried to help. She did hear him speak though and did as she was told leaning as far forward as she could, trying to keep herself alive. It was weird to see archer like this. In all the time that she knew him he didn't seem to be the sort to do this for someone. She didn't think he would be the kid to let someone die, no, but she would think he would be the type to leave them alone after that.

Avi shook her head at his suggestion finally catching her breath. "I'm ok"

Avi just looked down at the floor, trying to concentrate. The fact that Archer didn't make a big deal out of it made Avi blush a bit. She wasn't supposed to be drowning. She was supposed to be sleeping. Unfortunately her float had deflated and she looked down pitifully as her hair dripped onto her hands. " I can't swim."

"Well good," said Archer, when Avi informed that she was indeed going to be alright. Removing his hand from her back, he'd turn his attention to where her inflatable chair had gone the way of the titanic. Turning his attention back to her, he'd give her a quick look over before slowly rising to his feet, water dripping down off of him. These days, most of Archer's doggy instincts didn't transition over to his human form unless he was feeling a boat load of stress, so Avi was spared from a second shower.

"First Zac, now you.. really hope that me saving peoples asses doesn't become a regular thing around here." Last thing Archer needed was to gain the notoriety that most of the students on campus seemed to always be in search of. With Avi's well being still on his mind, he didn't notice his little blurb about an incident both he and Zac agreed to keep quiet about for their mutual well being.

For the third time that day, Archer would make his way back into the pool, though this time with the aid of his hands to do so. As for Avi saying that she couldn't swim? "I figured," he'd respond, before kicking off the side of the pool and swimming out to retrieve her sunken piece of pool furniture.

Avi just nodded as she recovered from the coughing. She did feel his hand leave her back though as he went off to unknown places. She looked up and was surprised to see him just looking at her. Now she knew that she wasn't normally so... docile, but this was a special occasion. She had almost drowned for crying out loud. That might have warranted her behavior if you thought about it.

Wait what? What did he do with Zac? it really wasn't any of her business, and in a normal case she would have pushed it but right now she was just staying quiet and concentrating on breathing normally. She winced though when he said it like it was a bad thing. She felt the need to apologize again. "Sorry you had to..." Avi bit her lip before glancing up."I didn't mean to" She felt like she was about to cry but right now she didn't want to do it in front of Archer. How much more pitiful could she get?

Avi just sat there and pulled her knees to her chest, trying to calm herself down. She hadn't felt this useless in a long time. Now she knew why she didn't like it very much. She watched as Archer dove back into the pool and went to retrieve her titanic of a inflatable chair. This was why she normally stayed away from water. It ended up almost drowning her.
