It was snowing, which meant most of the students and staff of Hammel were inside. It was the type of day where curling up and drinking hot coco or tea was the perfect thing to do. Perhaps with a good book, or if you were studious, some homework. Abbey chose a good book. She rarely, if ever, did her homework. Curled up by a window on the first floor of the dorms, she got a good view of the snow while staying nice and warm. She had her favorite book, The Catcher in the Rye, some hot coco, and comfy hoodie. The black one with little pink skulls printed on it.
She had her knees pulled up to her chest, fitting perfectly into the small chair. The coco was on the window, her book balanced on her knees. Occasionally she looked up to peek out the window. Abbey had always loved the snow. There was something just a little bit magical about the look of it. All the little fluffy snowflakes. Then for a little while, before anyone touched it, it was this perfect, glittering white blanket over the world. Pausing her reading, she dog-eared the page and pressed a hand to the glass. Snow always made her miss her mom.
Sighing she turned to take a sip of her hot coco. Taking a couple gulps, she kept watching the snow. Abbey hoped it wouldn’t turn into a full-blown storm. A full-blown storm meant way too much time spent inside. She picked up the book again and was about to start reading when she heard a noise. Looking up, she saw a boy, a rather cute boy, walk into the dorms. She smiled and set her book down. ”Hi, there. I’m Abbey.” She smiled up at him.
