A Sing Song Sleepover (Chloe)

Dorothy grinned as she popped the popcorn. She looked at the clock. Seven on the dot. She still had a few minutes before Chloe would show up so she was glad that she had time to set up. It had been a while since the two had gotten together and now a sleepover was planned.

With Disney movies. There had to be Disney movies.

As she heard the doorbell ring she quickly walked over. "Clooooooooooooo come in!" Everything was all set up and the popcorn was beeping. "I made popcorn!"

Chloe was absolutely a 13 year old girl in the body of a 24 year old woman. So it would come as no surprise to anyone that knew her that she was absolutely giddy about having a sleepover with Dorrie. After spending several minutes deciding on what pajamas to wear (she settled on her pink Hello Kitty ones) and then another half an hour writing Ella a little love note with details on her whereabouts for the night, among other things, she was finally ready to head out.

She tucked her slippers into her overnight bag as she skipped merrily out the door, car keys jingling in hand, and she sung loudly and gleefully along to some mushy pop music on the familiar drive to the campus. When she finally gave a hearty knock on Dorrie's door and was ushered inside, she threw her arms around her friend in an eager hug. "Yay! Tonight's going to be a blast!" She practically hopped in spot while Dorothy went to get the popcorn, then dug in her bag and pulled out several bags of candy. "And I have sweets!"

Chloe helped herself to Dorrie's couch, plopping down and starting to unpack her bag of sleepover necessities: fleecy blankets, slippers, plushie ducks, etc. "Sooooo! What's first on the agenda?"

Even though Dorothy was quite a bit older then Chloe she still considered the younger woman more of a little sister then anything else. She was too old to be one of her "kids" and she was too young to be one of her "mentors" so it was apparent she would fall into the category of family. Since she was younger. It became sister.

She grinned as she was hugged and pulled her inside." You know it sis," Dorothy grinned. By now Chloe would be used to the nickname she had received. Grinning she looked over towards her friend and gasped when the candy pulled out. "Oooooooooooooh Candy. I must say darling you did excellent." Candy was always wonderful and Dorothy was amazed Chloe had remembered.

Dorothy grinned as Chloe started to unload. She was coming over with the popcorn setting the bowl on the table as she went back to the counter and grabbed the drinks pulling her up on the couch to sit. " You can unload later. lets start movies!" Grinning she handed the drink, an apple martini, to Chloe and pressed play.

Soon enough Beauty and the Beast came on.

Chloe's smile spread over the entirety of her face, her eyes alight with joy. Anytime spent with Dorothy was bound to be exciting and when it involved being able to act like kids again, she was even happier. Sliding her finger under the flap of the box of skittles, she pried it open and stuffed a small handful in her mouth while she awaited Dorrie's arrival with the popcorn. Can't deny that sweet tooth.

"I'm pretty sure the guy at the convenience store thought I was crazy. Showing up in my pajamas and buying loads of candy." She giggled, throwing the fuzzy blanket over Dorrie's lap when the older woman took a seat beside her. "Oooh~ We're starting the night off right!" Chloe took her glass and gently clinked it against Dorothy's own, her toes wiggling happily inside her slippers (which she had already changed into.) "Cheers!"

Tucking her legs up underneath her and scooting over to Dorrie, Chloe sipped her martini then rested her head against her shoulder. "Beauty and the Beast! Classic!" She hummed along with the opening bars of the song. "I always wanted to have talking furniture." ... yes, leave it to Chloe to be excited about the prospect of a talking wardrobe or clock.

Dorothy grinned as Chloe smiled at her. She always felt like a little kid when the two wee together. It was fun to be young again and she was immensely glad she didn't have to be reasonable for the kids just this one night. Julia was working tonight and was under strict orders not to bother Dorothy, unless of course it was an emergency. Dorothy herself was taking a personal night. The fact that she could act like a little kid again was a bonus.

Dorothy could only grin as Chloe supposed she was thought to be crazy. "Only the best kind of crazy Darling. Only the best."She had to laugh at the mental picture she had though and only thought of what the cashier had to say. She gave a laugh as Chloe took a sip and clinked her glass to Dorothy's, who unlike Chloe, had vodka in.

Dorothy had to grin as Chloe got closer ready for the movie to start. She nodded her eyes on the screen as the movie started. There was something about Belle that made Dorothy smile. The fact that she outsmarted Gaston at every turn helped as well. " You know..." Dorothy grinned at the thought. "Its coming out in 3D soon... we should totally go see it."

If Chloe was a puppy, she would have been wagging as Dorrie complimented her on being the best kind of crazy, but because she didn't have a tail, she settled for wiggling happily next to her friend. Can't sit still for a moment, that one. "So you're not going to put me in a straight jacket and send me off to the creepy men in white lab coats? Phew!"

Snuggling closer into Dorothy's side, Chloe tried to settle her excitement long enough to sit through a movie without fidgeting (a nigh impossible feat) when the re-release was brought to her attention. "REALLY? Omigod, we SO have to go! We'll make it another girl's night! Have dinner, see a movie, maybe do a little shopping!" There was a slight pause while Chloe took a breath, then continued on. "And! Then we can go dancing!" Since Ella had introduced her to the club scene, Chloe found she really enjoyed it... as long as she had someone there to protect her from the creepy men that didn't seem to understand the word "no."

"You know..." Chloe tilted her chin up to look at Dorrie's face. "Is it bad that I was so disappointed when the Beast turned human again? I mean he was so much cuter as a fuzzy-wuzzy monster-face!"

Dorothy was amused as her friend wiggled against her. It wasn't often she saw Chloe this happy and was glad she was being a cheer-her-up-er. " Why would I do that? , your the one who would control those men anyway" Dorothy gave a catish grin and smirked just a bit. " Don't worry if that ever happened I'd come rescue you. The men in white coats would never suspect a chinchilla to be of harm."

Dorothy nodded to every single word that Chloe was rambling off. It sounded like a good plan and she was starting to get excited now. Then she got to the club scene comment. "I didn't know you went clubbing." This was something new. Normally the Chloe Dorothy knew didn't even know about the Club scene in this tiny little town. Dorothy herself had visited the clubs many times when she was younger. It was a thrill and a way to get away from her job and her schooling. She wouldn't be surprised if she was remembered. Some of her best memories were made there. But, she was a little apprehensive about it now. She thought she might be a little too old for the club scene. She was nearing her forties after all. " Maybe the clubbing isn't such a good idea."

Dorothy looked down at her friend who was curled up against her. "Well I don't think it is bad per se, but i think it is different." Dorothy had to grin. "But when has Hammel ever been normal?" Dorothy raised a eyebrow again at her friend. "What would you have happen instead?"

"My hero!" Chloe put her hand to her forehead and pretended to swoon into Dorrie's lap. "Nice to know you would break me out of a mental hospital. Talk about a best friend!" She giggled, sitting back up and wrapping her arms around Dorothy for a tight hug. "And I'd do the same for you too! Well, I mean, if I ever needed to." She figured her odds for ending up at an institution were a lot higher than Dorothy's.

Chloe's hands were gesturing wildly while she babbled as she had a tendency to talk with her hands when she was excited. And to say she was excited now would definitely be an understatement. "Oh! My girlfriend took me! And I love it!" Chloe's toes wiggled inside her slippers, giggling brightly. "At first I was a little nervous, but once we started dancing it was a total blast!" But when Dorothy seemed apprehensive, Chloe slumped down. "Really? Awww, okayyyy." She was pouting now, having been really looking forward to going dancing with her friend, but if Dorrie didn't want to go, Chloe wasn't going to make her.

She chewed on her lip thoughtfully, thinking of an alternative outcome for the movie. "I don't know, maybe Belle could turn into a lady-beast and they can go on being cute and fluffy!" Tapping her finger on her chin, she supplied another answer. "Or they could have at least drawn him looking more handsome as a prince. Seriously biggest let down ever!"

Dorothy grinned and caught her dramatically as she swooned. "It would be my honor princess." Because it would. No mater what the time was she would always make time for her little sister, even if hey weren't really sisters. Grinning at her Dorothy smiled. "I don't know, I probably have a higher chance of going to one then you" Dorothy smirked then snuggled closer to her friend. "Haven't you heard darling? I'm crazzzzzzzy."

Dorothy partially forwned at Chloes words. "Girlfriend? are you still with her?" Honestly Dorothy didn't think that it would last that long. She still wasn't sure about Ella being the right one. Something was off and they all knew it. She could dance but she didn't like making a fool out of herself in the eyes of others. That was just unprofessional.

Dorothy smiled at her friend. " Hmmmm I dunno.. how would that break the curse though?" Dorothy grinned and looked at her friend. "Wonder what she would have looked like?"

Chloe's eyebrows drew together and she appraised Dorothy while stroking her chin thoughtfully. "Well, sis, if you're crazy, then I must be absolutely bonkers!" Giggling, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Hurry! Get the straight jacket before I start foaming at the mouth!" She stopped for a moment, pursed her lips, then asked, "Oh wait, does that only happen with rabid dogs?"

Once her little gigglefit had subsided, she wrapped her arm around Dorrie and rested her cheek against her friend's shoulder, quite content to snuggle up with her for the evening. "Yeah, we're still together." A faint blush dusted over the bridge of Chloe's nose. "I really like her." As if that wasn't obvious from how often she spent just daydreaming about Ella. And she didn't really have a clue that things might not have been as peaceful or as perfect as she thought.

Beaming right back up at Dorrie, Chloe just shrugged. "I don't know, but it would have been cute! Who could say no to fluffy beast love?"

Dorothy laughed as Chloe tried to act like a mentally unstable person. " Those and epileptics." It was sad really.Dorothy gave a laugh before sipping her drink, readjusting the blanket she had. "What movie do you want to watch next?"

Dorothy had to bite her tongue from saying anything. She had heard of Ella's... exploits other then her friend before. This was when they were in a relationship. She had a feeling Chloe knew, but chose to ignore it. " Do you? and does she feel the same?" Dorothy had to make sure. This was her little sister after all. Anyone who hurt her was hurting family. "Will you come to me if anything happened?" That wasn't saying anything would, just a warning.

"Then it would be more like the Fox and the Hound." Dorrie gave a small laugh before shaking her head. "Disregarding gender of course."
