Dear Madame Secretary:
I write your office in regards to the request for medical and science personnel. I am currently employed at List Memorial Hospital in Annapolis, MD as the Executive Director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. However, since acquiring this position, I have come to realize that administrative duties do not suite me well. It is for this reason that I am seeking other career opportunities, such as the one you are providing.
I believe you'll find that, as a world-renowned Biomedical Engineer, I have ample experience in both medicine and other biological sciences, and am therefore highly qualified for this position. Working in a hospital for upwards of 8 years has allowed me to develop essential computer and managerial skills, which are only supported by my years of teaching. I have simultaneously been conducting research on metahuman genetics, a field I have been working in for over 17 years. Together, these experiences have shaped me into a skilled, well-rounded scientist, with a natural aptitude for research.
Attached to this e-mail is a pdf file containing my Curriculum Vitae for your review. I shall contact your office within the next ten business days to check on the status of my application. In the meantime, should you feel the need to schedule an interview, you may contact me at this e-mail or by the provided phone number. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alana Carson

RESEARCH INTERESTS1. The sequence of and variations in the metahuman genome.
2. The relation of the metahuman DNA sequence and chromosomal location to expressed traits.
3. The extension of analytical techniques used on the metahuman genome to other genetic mutations in humans.
My primary interest is in the study of the metahuman genome. While the focus of my research remains in the sequence of the gene that causes metahumanism, I additionally seek general patterns between gene sequence and expressed traits. With the help of volunteers, we can delve into the genetic makeup of a large variety of metahumans. By analyzing the genome and comparing the effected DNA sequence to correlating ability types, it is possible to pinpoint the exact cause of mutation in metahumans. If successful, I hope to apply these same methods to other genetic mutations in order to assist in research on the prevention and cure of disease.
