General Appearance:
You will normally see Hoshi wandering around in a Kimono. She likes the formality of them and to her they are a glorious thing. Dressing moderately Hoshi does not believe that she should be immodest at any given time. She normally hears her dark brown hair up with some hair adornment to accompany whichever kimono she is wearing that day. If she does not it is normally in a bun. Whenever Hoshi's hair is down it is naturally wavy. Hoshi straightens it most of the time though. She finds that it looks more professional that way.
Hoshi wears, if she is with her friends "western clothes" that are somewhat classy and elegant. She does not normally believe in Jeans and a t-shirt, though if she were doing yard work she just might.
Hoshi stands at around five feet two inches and is short like most of her Asian family. Hoshi is someone who doesn't mind the her height and is perfectly fine with it. She does know how to wear heels if she is going out to a party or something, to boost her height if only by a little. Hoshi's brown eyes are complimented by light does of makeup to the face. In all she is modest about her appearance.
Personality:
Hoshi has always been the responsible one. The mature one. She had to be. Her parents just left her alone most of the time. She had t make sure she did not get into trouble and she had to be the one to work her hardest. Even though she was the baby of the family, and if she had ever asked, would have bee n given anything she wanted, Hoshi never used that fact to her advantage. Her sisters were the fun ones and her Parents were never really around for Hoshi's growing up. Her eldest sister was already fulfilling most of her parents wants and needs, and her second eldest sister tended to goof off more then study. Hoshi felt the need to prove to her parents that she was a good thing to be born. In some ways she is the typical "hime-sama".
Basing off the fact that Hoshi is mature and responsible it comes to the attention that most people find her cold and aloof when they first meet her. She is someone who will not hesitate to call you out on your mistakes and will also not be the most "comforting" of people to be around. She would rather drown herself in work, then go out and deal with feelings. Hoshi has that cold exterior that often times seems intimidating to others.
Hoshi is naturally inquisitive. She will look for the "truth" until she finds it, by any means necessary of course. She is always curious about something and is stubborn to find out all about it. She will keep with something until she loses interest in it. Then of course she will drop the subject and move onto something else.

History
Hoshi was born on July 18 1986. Her parents already had had two children, both girls, and were not expecting to have a third child. It was a welcome surprise though when they found out about Hoshi.
Growing up Hoshi was the a very serious child She wanted to prove that she was worth being brought into this world, especially after she had found out she was not a planned baby. She was serious and always worked her hardest. She did not have many friends growing up in Burlington, but she was content with that as they were all too unfocused.
When Hoshi learned more about her Japanese roots from her mother she adapted to it quickly. She Learned all she could about the country in which her grandmother came from and was more then willing to learn all she could about it. Hoshi begged her mother to teach her Japanese and finally her mother relented. Happy to get her way Hoshi took it all in stride and chose to incorporate it all into her life here in America.
Hoshi's parents mostly let her alone. They did not want to interfere with her studies, and they did not want to interfere with her life in general. Mostly her parents let her do as she pleased and kept out of her life. They did not want to pressure her or make her feel unwanted. Unknowingly to them Hoshi, because o that attitude felt the need to prove herself to them.
Thus Hoshi became the Vice president of student counsel, Vice president of the Class, and the Editor of the newspaper. She never tried for President in either student counsel o fr the class, since she wasn't the best at the social skills, but she excelled at writing and grammar. After four years at her local high-school she graduated the second in her class for grades and had a scholarship to the University of Vermont
Once she got to the University she began started to major in Journalism. It was during this time period she really started to take more of an interest in her family roots, ad how they were centered in Japan. Her grandparents still lived over there and she had gotten quite close to them over the years. Hoshi got it into her mind to g visit them the summer after she graduated. She would get to Japan by any ways possible.
Hoshi started working non-stop to pay for the trip. She was able to raise just enough money, and keep up her grades at Uni, to get permission to go from her parents. She had hesitated telling them from the start and was surprised to hear that that they would have paid her way over if she had asked. She was happy even though she was shocked, but she also felt that it would not be right.
Graduating with a B.S. in Public Communications Hoshi took a summer and made her way over to Japan. She loved it there. The culture, the environment, and even the people she loved. She loved spending time with her grandparents and quickly adapted to wearing a kimono everywhere, since of course, her grandmother wore one. She always had a smile on her face and she was absorbing everything she could before she had to go back to the United states, back to Vermont.
Her grandmother taught her the tea ceremony and the art of flower arranging. It was hard yes, but Hoshi felt like she was finally home. The summer went by quickly and Hoshi knew that she would have to return soon enough. Luckily though she would still be keeping in touch with her grandparents and would take away many things from this trip.
Coming back to the United States Hoshi felt that she was leaving behind a piece of her soul, but she also know she had to return. She did not want to return to Burlington. So when she found out her sister was located in a little town named Pilot Ridge, she decided to venture out there and see the town. Her sister had made a life for herself there and Hoshi was curious about the little town that entranced her.
Hoshi ultimately decided to move to Pilot Ridge after she found out they had no newspaper. To her that was wrong and she thought every town should have one. She had a few contacts that were able to provide the funding of the starting of the newspaper and Hoshi went about recruiting staff from her college days. She has a few of them already, and is planning on hiring more depending on the success of the newspaper.
Hoshi has finally finished the move to Pilot Ridge and frequents her sister's apartment often. They have grown closer since they both live in the same town and Hoshi feels that she is able to connect with her more now that they are older. Hoshi is anticipating getting the newspaper up and running and publishing news about this small town of Pilot Ridge.
