This is set this coming weekend: January 28th 2012
Snow dusted her royal purple pea coat and the purple hat pulled down far over her ears; snow turned slush made a trail behind her, trekked in from outside.
Her father would be so ashamed.
She shivered, hugging her arms to her chest and standing just inside the door, reveling in the warmth that was a heated building. God bless technology; she wouldn't want to try and survive without such graces.
"So coooold." She muttered. It was only 36 degrees according to the weather channel, not any colder than it had ever gotten in New York, but it was cold enough, cold enough to warrant staying indoors. Certainly if she hadn't already told her dad she was coming for the weekend she would have holed up in her dorm with a mug of hot cocoa.
It was no wonder some animals hibernated through the winter.
Movement from the corner of her eye caught her attention, and she turned to see a Dragon.
Okay, not a real dragon, but damn, those wings sure looked like they belonged on one! The face looked familiar, too, although she couldn't place it; she didn't think she'd seen anyone with dragon wings before. Why hadn't her dad told her he knew someone with dragon wings? He didn't have a name tag, so he probably worked here, and she didn't know, and it was so unfair! If she'd known she wouldn't have asked Doc N to don that dragon costume for the end of her treasure hunt; she could have asked a real live dragon to do it for her!
As her thoughts spun to an end she realized she had been staring, and she promptly shut her mouth.
Real smooth, Ginny.
"Uhhh." She began, giving him a wave. "I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led. And through the air. And uhhh I guess I totally don't walk unseen since you....are seeing me."
She offered him a grin at that. "And I promise I'm not here to steal your treasure or whatever since I don't think working at Hammel gives you much of a horde. You do work at Hammel, right?"
