The first time Harmony saw Vincent was when she was out with her uncle at the mall. He had taken her there to the music store to pick up a few cd’s. As they were walking back to their care, Harmony saw an older boy arguing loudly to one of the security guards.
“The sign clearly says No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service. There’s not one word about if I have to wear pants.”
Although Harmony wasn’t one for running around in her underwear, she couldn’t help but giggle at the way the boy was making the man’s face turn bright red. It was just so awesome to see someone causing so much fury in a member of authority.
But Josef had led her quickly away from the pants-less boy before Harmony could catch anymore of the conversation.
It wasn’t until a week later that Harmony saw him at Hammel. This time he was spraying random students in the face with silly string and laughing wildly as they screamed or stormed away. She’d considered skipping her training session just to watch him, but she’d skipped the past two and she didn’t want to risk her mother getting called.
That night in her dorm room, she lay awake wondering how she could track him down. It wasn’t just that he was cool…he was…kind…cute. At first she’d hated herself for admitting the feeling. But this wasn’t the same kind of cute that she tormented other girls her age for feeling. This was the cool kind. After all, it wasn’t that she wanted to kiss him…at least not yet…she just wanted to be around him. A lot. He wasn’t like other boys, all preppy and goody-two-shoed. He was a rebel. A cute rebel.
So the next day, she’d spent the morning peaking in classrooms and student lounges hoping to see him around. It wasn’t until the afternoon that she spotted him at the end of the hallway.
“Hey you,” she said, running towards him. Once she was next to him, though, she realized she didn’t know what she was supposed to say next. She started to blush a little as she looked for the words. “I..uh…saw you without your pants…”
