That is not what you're supposed to be doing with your food!

Lani yawned, it had been a while since he had gotten up for his classes. Or rather that he hadn't been so tired he couldn't even imagine awakening. It had been a rough couple of weeks and ironically he was finding comfort in school work. It was enlightening at best and distracting at worst. Oh well, he wasn't really doing this to graduate, that ship had sailed long ago. Either way he was glad for the break, though he was really wishing that lunch was better served. Cafeteria food was never the most wonderful, but hey it was food and Lani couldn't complain. Would he kill for some of his mother's cooking? Probably. Oh well, the best he could do was salt and pepper so he examined the mystery meat before risking his life by getting some. He grabbed a grilled cheese sandwich and a salad just to be safe unless the meat ended up being truly inedible.

Dressed in jeans and a longsleeved shirt under a button up to ward against the persistent chill in the air. He paced out of the kitchen grabbed silverware as he passed and finding his hands a little full grabbed a cup filling it with water with his power. Telekinesis certainly had it's upsides. It was so crowded, Lani looked around for a familiar face and finding none found space at a table by the window. He set his plate and bowl down before grabbing his cup from midair. It was much safer that his power didn't try details like placing things on tables. That never really ended well. He looked down at his food feeling less hungry the more he looked at it. He poked it with his fork and was at least pleased to note that it didn't move.

He picked at it his emotions only adding to the turmoil in his life. This were so confusing, he felt that at any moment he might just break down, but as tempting as that was it couldn't be done. He blinked hard and looked back at the food knowing if he didn't eat something he was going to start looking as skeletal as Odion. There had to be something to make this more appetizing. He added salt and a little pepper and took a hesitant bite after sawing at the meat for what seemed like hours. He chewed experimentally and was rather glad he had gotten the safe grilled cheese. But what to do with the meat. Lani was a fan of pranks and he hadn't played any in a really long time. An impish grin on his face his power grabbed hold of the slab of bad meat and it went on the floor. Where it started to slither between the tables. It didn't take long for people to notice and start shrieking. He couldn't help it he grabbed other discarded meats and joined them to the herd.

[D]A[N]I[C]C!?

Blond dude didn't know what Dani was doing, and Dani didn't know what blond dude was doing. But two food-related, ahem, issues in the same day probably didn't bode well for the cleanup crew. Or that poor girl with the high ponytail trying to escape from the slithering meat.

Dani had a plan that was put into motion the day before, with the cafeteria's supply of mashed potatoes mysteriously vanishing before lunch. Some fishing wire and other bits and bobs meant some lucky few who stepped in just the right places would make a lovely flood of watery potato mush rain down upon their heads.

Dani was munching on something she hadn't bothered to even think about before grabbing and throwing in her mouth, looking around the room to try and guess who would trip the trap first--and what fun that was to think, trip the trap--when she heard a high shriek from nearby that made her jump. She looked around for the source of the commotion when she saw... Meat.

Meat. On the ground. Moving around.

She was torn between laughing and backing slowly away. In the end, she decided on the middle ground: leaping dramatically to the nearest slithery chunk and stabbing it with a fork, shouting, "For Gryfindor!" before standing up and realizing just how gross this situation could be if she were anyone else.

Right about then, she heard the telltale splash-gasp of her first victim. The rest would follow within about thirty seconds, if foot traffic remained the same.

It took all of Lani's skill not to bust up laughing when people noticed the moving meat. It would be rather terrifying to someone who had no idea what was going on. But seriously, this was a school busting at the seams with people with crazy powers so it was relatively safe to rule out the fact that the meat was alive. People pointed and some screamed others laughed and tossed their meat to join the army. The lunch crew was going to kill him.

A few of the guys who knew him found him sitting innocently watching the action a sly smile smile on his face and met his eye. He winked and now he had other people in on the joke. He missed doing stuff like this. His life had become far to serious lately.

A shout cried out a few tables away and Lani nearly spewed the water he had just tried to swallow as she attacked his meat army. If only he knew someone who could project their voice then he could give his meat voices. That might just be a little too much though. He had barely recovered from his guffaw when there was a sploosh and all eyes turned to a poor girl now covered in some gross white stuff.

The poor girl wasn't getting sympathy as the cafeteria erupted in a mix of noises some angry others laughing. Too bad for the people that tried to help and more got doused by whatever it was. That was when Lani decided he needed to get in on this. He grabbed his meat arms and turned them toward the poor wet souls. Well minus their one fallen comrade under that woman's fork. He looked at the girl trying to catch her eye, he had a feeling she had something to do with the mashed potato mess.

None of the faculty members ever truly expected the student cafeteria to be quiet during the lunch hour. The students would talk until they were practically yelling over each other, and too often food fights broke out. There was a reason that security was rarely far from the room at peak activity times.

Normally Mally would have brought a lunch, but she’d been stuck on the phone for ages the night before with her sister. Not that she hadn’t enjoyed it. She was close to her sister, and it was always a good time when they talked.

Talking, however, did not get food made. So instead of bringing things from home, she was heading to the cafeteria to get something. She’d been working on baking with her students all morning, and while cookies and pastries were fantastic, they did not make a particularly good lunch.

She was looking at the choices when she started hearing shrieks. She glanced back, but nothing seemed all that out of place. Probably just boys threatening to do something disgusting with their food. Nothing to worry too much about.

The ‘For Gryffindor!’ shout was a little more concerning. Moving from bystander to teacher mode, Mallory slipped away from the line to try to figure out who was causing trouble.

And then control went completely out the window as a poor female student found herself covered in mashed potatoes. Mallory gasped before going to her aid. “Are you okay, sweetie?”

... Okay, was that moving meat on the floor?

The redhead inhaled sharply before raising her voice in a warning tone. Though she didn’t look particularly threatening, she was rather good at becoming stern when she needed to be. “Who is responsible for this?” Whoever it was, they were going to be in big, big trouble.
