Odion had never said anything about what the state of their relationship would be like, and neither had Rhett. If the blonde wanted to assume they were still together, let him, but Odi didn't feel like they were. Rhett had come back, and now it felt like they were starting over. Odion had basically said they needed a break without actually saying it. Odi didn't feel bound to Rhett any more than he felt bound to well, anything else.

Odi opened his hand to the necklace that had given him so much trouble. "How did you...?" But he let the question slide. Of course Rhett knew exactly where the watch had gone. The real metaphor, was that he just finished saying he didn't want a leash, and Rhett wasn't listening. He pocketed the locket, looking at the floor. It might be going straight back into the pond. He didn't want to be reminded of what had happened. If they were starting fresh, he didn't want the locket any more than he did an hour ago.

Odion's dark eyes had noticed that Rhett still wore the bracelet he had stolen for him. It didn't mean a whole lot to him now. He was bitter over their whole relationship. Truth was, if Odi really wanted to wear the necklace, he would be doing so now already.

Odion watched Rhett. "I didn't lose it," he said, determination in his voice. His eye twitched as Lani was mentioned again. Never once had he thought about kissing Lani, but now that Rhett had mentioned it. Odi smirked. "Don't think I can promise you that, I mean, Lani's been here the past three months." He emphasized his friend's name, something in and of itself seemed to bother Rhett.

Speaking of the Captain, why hadn't he said anything yet?

"Fine, captain obvious, then just don't throw it away again." Rhett chose his words carefully, waiting to see Odion's reaction of Rhett knowing and using that nickname. "And I've been with you your whole life!" Rhett added to Odion's statement. "Why are you so adamant in..."

Rhett stopped himself from continuing that phrase. It was going to lead into a bigger discussion and fight, and perhaps it was best for Odion to process things for a while. Even if for Rhett the option of going back with him seemed the most obvious one, and the one that he was sure was going to happen, Rhett also had to consider that it was more complicated to Odion and for sure, more hurtful. Such a girl... He thought, factoring in just how sensitive his boyfriend is.

"You had all these months to kiss him," Rhett said, once again calmed. "you're not doing it now that I'm here, not in front of me." Odion should remember how jealous Rhett is, and if he caught the ginger too affectionate with Lani, Rhett didn't even want to imagine what was to happen. "You look beautiful, you know?" He closed the space between them. "Not a fan of stubble, but you rock them."

Rhett leaned in for another kiss, this time intending for a real one, not the short and infantile ones of before.

Odion's eyes narrowed. If Rhett really wanted him back, torturing him was not the solution. The useless memento now making a home in his pocket was unwanted, and Odi didn't make any vocal promises. If Rhett seemed to know so much, then he should know any second now that Odion wasn't going to keep the broken watch. They always seemed to have that special connection, though Odi was feeling more violated than honored.

Odi held Rhett's eyes, trying to study him. It was like looking at a stranger. Maybe Rhett hadn't been gone that long, but if someone met someone who had challenged them, a lot could change.

A sly smile passed over Odion's face. "No, not in front of you." The most affection that had passed between Lani and Odi was a gently nudge, unless you count Lani pinning Odi to the wall with his telekinesis. Odion wasn't exactly one to jump into just kissing someone. Like Rhett. Especially with someone he considered a friend, and who was taken.

This time, Odion took a step back. "Thank you," he said, meaning the words, but not wanting a kiss from someone who betrayed him.

For now, he needed to think things through, he needed to talk to someone he trusted. Part of him wanted Rhett but the part that knew better wanted to run in the other direction. "I have to go." He said, since Lani was waiting for him. Odion turned on the spot and headed for the gates.

Rhett needed to know that Odion was not an option. And not some dog he could leave behind while on vacation and expect that someone else wouldn't capture his heart.
