The Basics
Name: Audrey Louise Reyn
Nicknames: Audrey
Age: 17
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Audrey's power is rather unique and rather difficult to describe. Her gift is to see sound, to taste sound. Most sound, for a normal person, comes out colorless but visible -- like a cloud, or smoke. A meta-human's sound is usually colored, brilliantly or otherwise. So Audrey always knows who is special and who isn't. Any sound, to Audrey, is substance and sustenance. Since she turned 12, Audrey's been living off sound. Food, to her, has become bland...tasteless. By "eating" another's sound, Audrey not only becomes full but can also reuse the sound, but for a very short amount of time. For instance, if she were to "eat" a bird's song, she'd be able to whistle like a bird. How long she can mimic usually depends on how much she takes, and the victim to her taking is usually left speechless for that amount of time. Maybe its from all the sounds she takes it -- but almost twice every other month, Audrey is sick with a cold or a stomach bug. Also, the fact that she can't eat normal food is a big problem for her.

The Details
Hair Color: Audrey's hair is auburn, falling to her shoulders in loose waves. She has side-sweeping bangs that she usually keeps pinned out of the way.
Eye Color: Audrey's eyes are a chocolate-y brown, with a flame of soft gold around the pupil.
Any Piercings? Audrey has both ears pierced twice, with a cartilage piercing on her left ear.
Any Tattoos? That's a little bit too permanent for Audrey's tastes; so, no.
Any Scars? One. It starts at the end of her left clavicle, and travels down about half-way to her breast.
General Appearance: Audrey's not very picky about her appearance, but that doesn't mean she doesn't try to look a little cute -- after all, strange powers aside, Audrey is a teenage girl.
Audrey tends to pull her hair back into a half-up, half-down do. Her large eyes are shadowed by thin eyebrows. Her lips are wide and are very characteristic. Anybody can look at them and know almost exactly what she's doing. Her eyes can seem a little empty at times, but her lips are always expressive. A toothless smile? She's just acting nice, really. A small, tooth smile? Alright, you've got her attention. The tiny lift of her upper lift? Disgust. The frown? Unimpressed.
Audrey has two ultimate lip weapons, however, that usually make or break a deal -- unless the person is up for a challenge. Her true smile is wide, big, looks as if it could crack the face but only brings out pure light. Its breathtaking. And then, there's the ultimate glare. Perhaps the only time her eyes take on any shape of big emotion. They narrow, her lips become a thin line...and she glares. She doesn't even blink. And to those who are unprepared or otherwise...it is almost always terrifying.
Besides that, Audrey stands at about 5'6" at a decent weight of 135 pounds. She's curvy and clear-skinned all except for a freckle below her mouth and beside her sloped nose. She usually wears jeans, no matter the weather, and is rarely seen wearing dresses. Its not that she's ashamed of her legs or anything, she's just...embarrassed by them.
Personality: Audrey is pretty average. I mean...for a meta-human.
She was more confused and angry about her power when it first happened. Now, she's just a bit bitter because she can't taste anything normal. For breakfast, she eats the sound of the morning birds' songs. For lunch, she slurps up the voices of her fellow classmates in the cafeteria. At dinner, she chews on the chirping of crickets. She can't taste food anymore, which is disheartening considering she's always loved to bake.
Audrey isn't evil, but she isn't all good either. She has her spiteful moments, too -- like anyone. She's stubborn when she really doesn't want to do anything, and can sometimes be extremely judgmental and a hypocrite. On the wrong time of the month, Audrey's been known to become a bit of a jerk. In fact, her brother John Arthur is known to call her "Paulina" during that time because its like a completely different person. But even off that time, Audrey's known for her short-temper at times.
But most of the time Audrey is pensive, understanding, a great friend. She'll listen to anyone's problems and then try to help as much as she can. She gives great advice, sometimes. She's easily surprised and quite jumpy.
Your Vices
Likes: Audrey loves the taste of sugar-covered strawberries and the smell of rain. She likes boys that can take charge and people who aren't afraid to tell her the truth. She likes people who are a little messed up. She loves fresh snow and likes to swim. Movies. And she is obsessed with wolves. They have the most gorgeous sound.
Dislikes: Audrey hates the truth but she hates lies more. She hates people who say they understand but don't know the first thing of what's happening. She doesn't like cats or bugs or small creatures that jump (like frogs or crickets). Musicals. She can't stand smokers and she has a low tolerance for drinkers.
Strengths: Audrey is an amazing baker. She can also, with extreme concentration, tell a true sound from a false one. She's amazing at English.
Weaknesses: Audrey's absolutely terrible at being healthy. She also sucks at any sciences. And, while she gives great advice, she has a problem following her own and is rather bad at telling others how she feels.
Fears: Audrey is scared that someone bad will find out about her powers -- that she is able to tell a meta-human from a normal person -- by the color of their voices. Her worst fear, however, is that one day she'll take someone's sound forever, and they'll be left mute. She's also afraid of the dark and hates horror/scary movies.
Secret: Audrey Louise has a thing for European accents.
Family Ties
Father: Howell Reyn - 53 - CEO. Audrey isn't very close to him because he's always away on business.
Mother: Elizabeth Styles Reyn - 50 - a stay at home mom but a wonderful chef -- especially when it comes to desserts. Audrey is closest to her mother.
Siblings: John Arthur Reyn - 12 - Just an annoying kid-brother. Makes Audrey's life a living hell. But she still loves the bugger.
Any Other Important People:A grandmother -- Granny Eva -- in the hospital, with a gift of her own.
History
Audrey Louise was born a completely normal girl. She went to school, had crushes, best friends. She lived with her mother, father, little brother and grandmother in a beautiful house in Dallas, Texas. Her mother was a wonderful chef, and Audrey had always loved watching her mother cook. When she turned eight, Audrey asked her mom if she could teach Audrey to cook, too. It didn't take Audrey long to figure out that she hated making every-day food. She was best at sweets. Strawberry tarts were her favorite. With her mother's tutelage, Audrey's cooking became masterful.
Audrey became popular at her junior high school for her sweets. She'd bring cupcakes of all varieties, cookies, blondies, brownies... But all of it changed when she was fourteen, and she had her first period. At first, she thought it was because of the timing that food started to taste ashen. She asked her mother about it, and Elizabeth told her that sometimes it happens.
But after that week, food never tasted. She couldn't make her sweets anymore because she couldn't taste, and she stopped bringing them to school. She slowly lost her friends, one by one. They told her she was acting strange, and she was. She started seeing things coming from mouths. It looked like clouds. Most of the time, they were bland, colorless. And other times, rarely, they were beautiful, rich colors that Audrey felt she could taste on her mouth.
She stopped eating all together, eventually. Her mother grew worried because Audrey continued to lose weight. She would wheedle Audrey, trying to get her daughter to explain. But how could she? Audrey Louise could feel herself going insane.
Audrey Louise would eat a little bit, for her mother's sanity. But the food did nothing to sate her hunger. One day, a boy who had been her friend for ages named Miles, told her that he was worried. He confessed he had always liked her as more than a friend, and seeing her in the state she was in made him worry. Audrey felt speechless and in her dumb-founded state, Miles ducked his head and kissed her.
It was Audrey's first taste of sound. Without even realizing it, Audrey was taking his voice. It tasted wonderful...the first food she'd had in months. When she pulled away, Miles couldn't speak. Literally.
When Audrey asked what was wrong, her voice came out as his. Horrified, she had run away. She ran home, collapsed into her grandmother's arms. Told her everything. And her grandmother confessed a secret.
"I've always known," she had said, "That you have a destiny." Her grandmother explained her own power -- too see into the future -- and Audrey cried even harder. She didn't know what was going on.
A week later, she received a letter from a mysterious Hammel Institute and has been there ever since, trying to master her power.
Roleplay Example
Brown eyes flew open. How long had she been dozing on the quad? Had she missed any classes? Panic seized her, and Audrey Louise sat bolt upright and checked her watch.
"Only five minutes?" Audrey rubbed her forehead. She felt like she had been asleep for hours.
"You were talking in your sleep," said a voice beside her. Audrey spun around and sized up the young woman sitting beside her. Her black hair was draped over one shoulder as her fingers idly knotted the strands into one large braid.
The corner of Audrey's lips turned downward slightly in confusion, and she stood with little grace. "Sorry..." Her eyes studied the remnants of voice still floating in the air. The girl's breath was silver, with traces of gold. She'd only seen that color once more... "You can see into the future."
The girl's black eyes looked up to meet Audrey's gaze, and a smile curled her lips upward. "My, my...you are interesting."
Something about the girl made Audrey Louise cringe. It was the attitude...the "better-than-thou" tone.
"Take a taste?" the girl pressed, eyes narrowing in glee. She wanted her voice to be sucked up for an hour? Very well. But Audrey wasn't going to enjoy it one bit. The smell of the girl's sound was nauseating.
She placed one hand on the girl's shoulder, disgust plain on Audrey's lifted upper lip. "Very well. I'm doing somebody else a favor by taking your voice, I'm sure." As she spoke, her voice changed to that of the girl's. She released the girl's shoulder and when the girl tried to speak, her eyes grew wide in concern. Her voice was gone.
"Don't worry," Audrey said in her own voice as she began to walk away, "it'll come back in sixty minutes."
