[Addie LeMere]

So Addie is a divorced mother of three, former hippie in her teenage years and early twenties, and artist for well over thirty years. She was a university professor- teaching painting, drawing, art history and theory. Now she's at Hammel!

What I'm looking for:
-Adult friends, and close collegues, to go out for a drink or two and keep her mind off things
-Students to mentor, she's a very kind and sensitive person, and she likes having close mentoring relationships with her students

Addie is close in age to Sean, if not essentially the same age. Sean is also an aging/former hippie, and he is an educator at Hammel and has been for two decades. He would love to be her fried. What do you say?

Most definitely. I can see her and Evan in a student/mentor relationship. Not sure if it helps, but I figure you might want a rough idea of his artistic ability. He mostly does pencil sketches of landscapes/buildings/corner drawings. Sometimes he draws people, but not as frequently as other things. I think he use to draw tons of farm animals, but not as much since he came to Hammel. For the most part, he only uses graphite pencils, but he probably is/would be skilled in using charcoal and canté too. I haven't decided whether or not he's bothered to try them, and I'm thinking he'd be stubborn about stepping out of his comfort zone and trying new things. He basically carries his sketchbook(s) with him everywhere (I'm sure by now he's gone through more than one). He's generally self-conscious about his work, but I figure Addie would be one of the people he has no problem showing it too, most likely because she can help him fix things and improve. Aaannndd that's pretty much all I've thought through. XD

Out of the staff members, James is the closest in age to her, after Sean. And though he's pretty high-strung, I could see them becoming friends. Her youngest child is about the same age as his oldest, so they can commiserate about raising teenagers.

As for students, Noor might be fun. She's not particularly creative, but she'd probably animate pencils to dance across the page and then submit that as modern/performance art. And while Addie might not be the best mentor for her, she'd respect her teacher for finding something she loves doing and making a career out of it. (Noor has no clue what she wants to do in the future.

Sean - Haha, read your profile, they do have a bit in common! I think they will get on great-she needs a good friend!

Evan- LOVE IT. I can't wait Of course as his teacher and mentor she's going to push him to different things, but I like the idea of them working together. She'll give him good critique, and tell him to do outside research on artists-only because they will have a stronger relationship.

James- I like this idea, too, she can give him tips since she went through the same things with her older kids, and yeah, I'm sure Jack will give her headaches and they can talk about it. Like I said with Sean, she needs some good friends, so I like this idea, too. I'll get to making a thread.

Noor- This could be fun, as Addie sees herself as a modern artist, with a healthy affection for renaissance art, so I think she'll enjoy "analyzing" her work, even if Noor has no reasoning behind them, Addie will be all like, "So what does the pencil represent? Fascinating, maybe it says you do all of this work shown by the elegance of the pencil and yet, there doesn't seem to leave much of a mark. Frustrated about longevity? About not getting appreciate?" Haha, she likes to read into things, especially art

ok. whoever wants to post their meeting with Addie can do it there. She was dropped off by a student, that could be Noor or Evan, or that student could have walked away and either Sean or James could have walked in while she's sniffing charcoal. Or something
