It Makes Me Swim Faster! (Noah)

A bet? Noah swam a little closer towards her so there wasn't much space between them. She wanted to help him get a girlfriend. Huh. Maybe that was why she kissed him? He still wasn't sure why she did, but she had to assume that it was because she just wanted his attention. He raised his eyebrow and tilted his head, obviously curious about what her idea might have been.

He waited for a second, weighing up his options. "You'll do anything I want?" He asked, flashing her a smirk that was all teeth. He swam again so he was beside her and he looked over, flicking his wet blonde hair in her direction. "Deal."

Tak grinned. She had him. She didn't like to see such a nice, attractive guy to be by himself, and so this would make her feel better, as well as be entertaining if she won. She could already picture him in those tight gold shorts - but she wasn't going to tell him that, oh no, that might make him back out. But who would be able to resist?

"Absolutely anything," she confirmed, returning his smirk. "Let your imagination go wild." She was actually vaguely curious if he had something in mind already, but she wasn't going to let him win just so she could find out. "Okay, so," she started, turning around so she was facing the bank. They had gone a good distance out. "When I say go, we both swim to the bank. When we get there, we have to run to..." She let her eyes scour over the western side of the bank, until a large boulder caught her attention, and she pointed. "That rock. First one on top of it wins. Got it?"

She drifted away from him a few feet to give her some space. "On your marks... Get set.... GO!" With hardly a splash, she took off like a rocket, knowing she was at a disadvantage at this point - she was a very swift swimmer, but Noah had a natural advantage, even if he didn't use his abilities. Instead of trying to keep track of where he was, she kept focused on the task at hand, already planning how she was going to distract him.

She had said they couldn't use abilities, but she didn't say anything about cheating in other ways.

Noah listened to the plan, nodding at intervals when she added a new challenge. Swimming and running? He had this in the bag, because out of all the sports he was into those were the two he had really trained in. So he faced the bank and listened to her count. He wouldn't use his powers because of course he wasn't the kind of person to cheat like that! "Since I'm a guy I'll give you a few seconds. That's fair." After all, guys did swim naturally faster.

He followed his own rules and started swimming a second or so after she did; she was a little ahead of him but it wasn't that hard to catch up to her. He was making up the distance slowly but surely as they swam towards the bank. If he kept going at this rate, he'd pass her eventually.

"Hey now, that's sexist!" Tak laughed, but allowed him to give her the extra time anyway. Why not? She was moving at a pretty good pace, but she could hear when she popped up for breath that he was catching up, and would soon pass her. They reached the bank at almost the same time, with him just a few seconds ahead.

And then came the running. Tak was a natural runner - it was in her genes. But again, even though she was fast, his longer legs and higher muscle mass gave him an unfair advantage. And as he got further ahead of her, that's when she decided to put her plan into action.

Still running, she grabbed the hem of the swimsuit cover she was still wearing and tugged it off, tossing it aside without a second glance. At the same time, she yelled,"NOAH!", putting a little desperation into her voice, hopefully enough to get him to look for at least a second. It was totally unfair, but if it worked, then it was worth it. Hopefully the shock would distract him for a long enough period for her to get ahead of him - the stone was already coming into view.

Noah had eventually breezed past her with ease. He was grinning from ear to ear, with no real idea of what he was going to ask her to do when he won this thing. Maybe spur of the moment intuition would give him a clue, so he didn't focus on it right now. He was just focusing on the way his body was moving. He really missed running like this in competition, even if it was just a thing between friends.

But when she called out, sounding desperate as if something bad had happened he slowed and turned his head. "Are you okay?" He asked, before realising that she was naked and faking it. She could have broken an ankle or something! She'd rushed past him with ease and he just watched; no way he'd catch up now.

It worked! Giggling viciously, Tak sped past him, without a care in the world that she was in the nude in a public place. Hopefully, not too many people would be by this area of the lake. Although really, she thought, it was their loss. "Sorry, Noah, I can't let you win this!" she called back, scrambling up to the top of the stone. Fin!

She sat and crossed her arms over her chest, covering up a majority of any 'offensive' bits. "Looks like I get to decide your Halloween costume~" she sang, grinning down at him. "I'll get it to you by next weekend. You're gonna look soooo hot. Your dating calendar will be booked." Really, she was doing him a favor. She wouldn't mind going out with him herself, but as gorgeous as he was, she still wasn't going to be looking for something serious anytime soon.

"What would you have asked me to do if you'd won?" she asked curiously, wondering if he would even answer. In all rights, he should have won, really. Oops.

She scrambled up the stone and Noah slowed his pace, walking over to be a little more nearby than where he was when she tricked him. He supposed either way she won. He laughed along when she was talking about finding him dates, running a hand through his wet blonde hair and allowing the longer part of his fringe to hang over his eyes slightly. "And here I was planning on joining up with that match making thingy for Halloween." He replied.

He shrugged both shoulders, looking away and back to the lake to hide the inner workings of his smirk. "That's for me to know. You won after all." Noah answered, knowing that wasn't the answer she was looking for. It was just too good an opportunity to pass up.

Tak smirked. "Oh, you still could, although... I don't know if this costume will be allowed there. You might have to find something else for the dance. Because you, Noah, are going to come to some awesome off-campus party with me." She shrugged and rolled her eyes. "I signed up for the matchmaker though. Just for the hell of it. I can't wait to see who I get matched with - I hope he's not like, twelve." She had given her age limits, though, so hopefully that wouldn't be an issue.

She snorted about pouted at his answer, then allowed a grin to cross her face. "I'm going to assume it was dirty, then," she told him, although she really didn't have any idea. She dropped off of the rock and began walking back towards their things, without looking back to see if Noah was watching.

"What're you doing for the rest of the day?" she asked upon reaching their things. She pulled on the cover again, although it was still soaked.

"Well I can do that. If you know of an off-campus party, I'll go with you." Noah replied. He thought about it for a second or two and continued, "We could get a group together too, or something." It might bring up suspicion but if it happened at the right house, then it wouldn't be a problem at all. "Besides, if you get matched with someone you don't like, you don't exactly have to hang out with them all night." He couldn't see how they could make that happen.

"You would." He smirked again with a laugh. Of course she thought it was dirty; it was pretty clear that she saw all guys in the same light, after all. He followed along as she started walking back to where she'd put her stuff. The cover she was wearing was soaked, so as he walked along behind while she wasn't looking he idly started to pull the water out of the fabric, letting it float around her head with the orchestration of a finger. "Not sure, I have no real plans."

Tak gave him a genuine smile. At least he seemed willing. "That sounds fun. I was going to ask Kouji to go with me too, so that'll be great. And maybe I could get Cam to come along too. I doubt I would be able to drag Chester out with us, though." She glanced at him. "Have anyone in mind you want to invite?" She wasn't sure who all he was friends with, but hopefully they were people that she could get along with. "That's true," she mused, thinking. "Although, as crude as I can be, I really wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Especially if they do turn out to be twelve," she laughed.

It wasn't that she saw ALL guys in the same light, but well... In the end, that was what most of them seemed to want. Noah, at least, from what should could tell, was pretty decent. Not like Cam or Chester in the least. Still, that didn't mean he didn't have those thoughts. The fabric of her clothing was feeling oddly lighter, and, frowning, she glanced down to see that it was getting dry unnaturally quickly. She narrowed her eyes and glanced back, only to catch a glimmer above her. She glanced up and laughed. "That's a neat trick," she commented. "Thanks!"

She tapped a finger against her lips. "Wanna go get lunch or something?" she finally asked. "All I have is schoolwork. And that won't be getting done anytime soon."

"Probably Josh forsure. And if I invite Josh, then he'll want to invite Callie so I guess she'll come too. Oh, and maybe Chase. He could use some time away from Hammel." And his studies. The guy needed some time away from his studies to get out and socialise. "That's another three people. Sounds like a plan."

If she thought that was what all guy wanted, then her perception was interestingly turned. It said more about her than she probably would have liked it to, so it was better that she didn't voice beyond that. It was for that reason that he found it difficult to actually be attracted to who she was as a person. He hadn't seen any other sides of her. "Anything I can do to help." He replied, letting the snake of water twist and twirl above her head and in front of her eyes. It was just fun that way.

"We can do that!" Noah grinned, thinking; "What do you feel like? Where do you wanna go?"

"I don't know Josh and Chase," Tak mused,"But Callie is cool. And if we'd be the only girls... Well, I'm sure we can handle you all." She gave him a lazy wink. Just he wait until she saw what she was going to wear - she was expecting to have a VERY fun time that night, even if she had to find someone else. Maybe Kouji... Nah. He was just too innocent.

The more time Tak spent with Noah, the more of a grasp she got on his personality - and she was beginning to realize that he was quite different than most guys she surrounded herself with. Maybe she would have to change her game around him a bit. "Seriously, that is cool," she replied, sighing slightly. "Sometimes I wish I had a physical power. ESP is so... Undramatic and unimpressive." Not that she didn't love her ability - she did - it just wasn't exactly flashy. She reached a hand up and waved it through the stream in front of her eyes, smiling.

"Great!" Tak replied, going over to her bag and, finally, pulling on a pair of shorts. If they were going in public, she was going to have to be at least somewhat decent. She paused, thinking. "Hmmm. Where's that place you work? Honest Abe's or something? What about there?" She hadn't been in there before, but she heard their food was good. And Noah worked there, which was awesome. Again, she vaguely toyed with the idea of getting a job, but she was really too lazy to be able to hold one down. "Cam and I might start a fortune-telling business," she told him randomly. "It was his idea. I think it would be really cool."

"It all depends on what you do with it." Noah explained. Some powers were obvious and flashy, and others were special in their own way. "Yours suits you perfectly, y'know? Spirit animals and all that." The water broke around her fingers, maintaining a steady flow despite the welcome interruption. He let the water trail off back into the lake.

He ran back to where he'd left his stuff, drawing water away from his body so he could throw a shirt on over himself. His hair was still a little wet, but it would dry in time. "It's not far, actually. We could probably just walk." He slung his bag over his shoulder and went back to her, indicating with his hand in the direction they should go. "Fortune-telling?" He asked, intrigued, "What can he do that would add to that?"

"True. You gotta love the spirit animals," Tak nodded. "And it makes it easy to pick out people I do and don't like." She snorted a little, grinning. "Well.... Not that it keeps me away from them anyway. But you, I like." Tak nodded affirmatively, watching the water trail back into the lake.

"Sounds good to me!" she replied. She was actually really hungry - she had been swimming for a while. She tossed her back over her shoulder and took a drink of water, hiding a smirk at his question. "Um. He can attract customers?" she suggested, laughing. Other than entertaining her and maybe helping to get customers interested, she wasn't quite sure what he was going to do yet. "Which, honestly, you could do too," she added with a chuckle. They began walking side by side in the direction that Noah had pointed.

"I think I'll match my costume to yours," she declared suddenly, a wicked idea coming to mind. Oh gosh, it would be perfect. They would definitely be the most attractive couple no matter what party they went to.

"He can bring in the girls and you can handle the guys." Noah explained. He knew that Cam was pretty good when it came to bringing in the interest of girls, and it was obvious that Tak knew how to deal with guys. At least, it might be something fun to drop in on. "You guys planning it soon? I might have to drop by. How did you guys meet?"

He grimaced at her words about costumes, unsure of what she meant but he had a bad feeling. "I'm going to regret this bet, aren't I..."
