I Just Wanna Dance - Open

After much coaxing, Spencer finally relented and let Valerie dress her up along with herself before painting the town bright red.

First stop was the salsa club Val found earlier in the week while surveying the sleepy town of Pilot Ridge.

Ordering for herself and nudging Spencer to order as well, Valerie scoped out the quite bustling joint and made eye contact with a few choice cuties but not settling on anyone. The night was young and she was definitely making the most of it.

Sipping at her daquiri, Valerie kept glancing over at a really cute boy in the far corner of the room. She waved at him with the tips of her fingers, just daring him to come over.

Kalen wanted to have a drink, even though he was a year under the age limit, he still didn't care. Hopefully someone would buy him a drink or something.

He dressed into his clothes, and slid his contacts in. He just shaved about a week ago, and a little hair was starting to grow back onto his chin. The hair was good, it served purpose for these cold times in Vermont. He left his apartment on campus, and got into his car, he checked his wallet for his license, and he inserted the keys in the ignition.

Within minutes, Kalen drove off towards the Club District of Pilot Ridge. He's never been to this Salsa Club before, so he might as well have given it a try. He parked his car in the nearby lot, and walked into the Salsa Club. An astonishing girl was at the far end of the dark room, and she lit the night with her perfect skin tone .. But she waved over to him, and he couldn't be rude? No. He walked up to her, as nervous as ever. "Uh .. Hey."

When the boy walked over, her grin widened and she turned to Spencer. "Speaking of cute boys." She lifted her dainty shoulders up with a grin before turning back to the approaching boy.

He looked so nervous and Val couldn't help but give him a reassuring smile. At least she wasn't in his shoes.

"Hi." She replied, restraining her laughter at his very weak opening. But she let it go. He would probably get a little bit looser with time.

"Have you danced before?" She asked immediately.

"No, I've never danced before, care to teach me?" He said with a sly, yet innocent grin, sitting down next to her at the bar. He wasn't sure if she were going to order him a drink, or if he were going to order her a drink. But he wanted to be generous, he wanted to make a good first impression.

"Can I have another one of what she's having?" He smiled as the bartender nodded and poured her drink, he slid it over towards her.

He couldn't help but blush when he was talking to her, he was always like this when it came to pretty girls.

The smile he gave made Valerie chuckle in surprise. So the boy wasn't as shy as she thought he was. This was going to be interesting. The drink sent her way definitely made a good impression on top of the already good impression she already had of him.

She finished her first one and turned to look at him, momentarily forgetting Spencer. She will definitely make it up to the blonde. Make her breakfast, do her laundry for a week...anything. But that was for tomorrow.

Giving him her hand, she smirked a little before introducing herself. "I'm Val. My friend here is Spencer." She pointed her free hand over her shoulder at the blonde.

Was he supposed to speak now? Okay ... He had to make sure he sounded charming, he smiled, and looked at her hand. He played it cool, and got off of the seat, gently grasping onto her hand. He felt how soft her hand was, and his hands were sort of soft because of that new lotion he had. Hopefully she didn't smell how girly it was. Even if she did, he knew she was probably just toying around with his head, who could really like him? A part of his mind told him to stop being so insecure about himself and to talk to the girl. So he went with the left side of his brain.

"I-I'm Kalen, and it's nice to meet you two!" He chuckled charmingly, and blushed as he said so.

"Mind if I borrow your friend for a bit, Spencer?" He said while handsomely leading her towards the dance floor.

Valerie watched for his every move, smiling as he did so. From his introduction to his asking for Spencer's permission, Valerie couldn't help but think he was playing at a very charmingly dangerous game. Either he was an actual gentleman or he was a really good player. She was hoping for the former, to say the least.

The college freshman noted how soft Kalen's skin was as they shook hands and with a look over at Spencer, Valerie joined him on the dance floor. She wasn't a professional by any standard but she had had dancing lessons so she knew at least the basics.

"What all do you know about dancing?" She asked with a smile as she guided his hand up to her waist while the other hand settled in her grip.

"Everything .. I basically got two left feet."

He chuckled, and held her neatly. Kalen knew this was an embarrassing scene for him. He was accustomed to watching people dance on Dancing with the Stars, or something along those lines. The things they did on TV was astonishing, and he knew he'd be unable to make himself even look good dancing.

Kalen decided to move, trying to go along with the song that was playing. But he was calm under pressure, and he kept things moving smoothly.

Valerie smiled, shrugging a shoulder at his answer. "It's cool."

The way he held her made Valerie release a small breathy laugh. She ignored the shiver down her spine as she moved with Kalen, letting him lead.

"You're not doing too bad." She commented with a little tilt to her head. "Are you playing me, Kalen?" She chuckled.

He chuckled whilst blushing, he tried to look away, but his sight would be magnetized right back into her eyes. He smirked as she twisted her head while dancing with him. Kalen looked bit his lower lip, and pulled her in firmly.

"Play with you? I'm way too nervous to be playing with pretty girls."

He winked, and tried to move along with the music that was playing. Hopefully he wasn't making a joke of himself.

Valerie couldn't help the smirk that had formed on her lips at the blush. She couldn't believe someone could be this shy. Even she was contracting the shyness from him.

His response had her giggling as she took the lead for awhile as they danced. She was by no means a professional but she definitely knew her way around a dance floor.

"Watch it. Someone might fall for you with those words." She grinned at him.
