Ariel was busy. Allison was busy. Even Kevin and Lance were busy.
Which meant it was as good a time as any to sit in the student lounge, hunched over a book of fairy tales. He may have read it multiple times already, but that wasn't the point; the point was that it was good. And also that it contained no surprise wasps, so he wouldn't accidentally shift while reading it.
Eventually, however, even his well-loved book became somewhat boring, and he began to fidget, trying to think of something else to do. If only it wasn't raining, he could go outside!
Then the door opened, and his ears perked up. He only vaguely recognized the person who entered (another new student? He seemed to be meeting a lot of those lately. Not that he was complaining) but lack of recognition didn't stop him from dropping his book onto the couch and waving cheerfully.
"Hi! Are you in Mr. Maguire's English class with me? You look familiar. But not that familiar, sorry, I don't remember your name. I'm Amber, by the way."
