So You Think You Can Dance? (OPEN)

Dancing was an art form that many were beginning to not know. Bumping and grinding weren't real dance moves. Yes, they were indeed fun and appropriate in club scenes, but dancing they were not. Salsa, Tango, Meringue, Chacha, those were dances. It was a miracle when anyone could find someone who actually knew how to do said dances, and it was even more surprising when it was a guy who knew them.

Jack was one of those few who knew how to really dance. Now, he didn't know all the technicalities of the dances mentioned above, but he knew the basic steps and he bullshitted his way through the rest of it. It was just one of those things he used to his advantage when he wanted to impress a girl and get her in bed with him. Plus, the tango was great for getting real close to a girl without it being deemed inappropriate. That was at least how Jack liked to justify it.

He often went to the Salsa club in Pilot Ridge alone because if he was alone and he found another single girl, that would just give him a reason to ask her to dance. When it comes to all things social, he was beast. Having gotten all sexy-fied for the night in his ripped, low riding jeans and wife-beater with a button up on top, he was ready to go. Things were bound to go smoothly. Of course, he just hoped he'd be able to find a single girl that wouldn't be looking for any sort of commitment after a one night thing. Because she would not get it from this guy.

Slipping into the club, he went to the bar and ordered a shot of tequila as he waited for his target to come into view.

While Charlie had never really taken any serious dancing classes or spent a lot of time learning specific technique to certain dances, she had found early on in life she had a natural talent for it. She caught on really quickly, and therefore knew quite a few dances that she could perform, enough so she felt comfortable taking the occasional outing to the local salsa club. She wanted nothing more than to have a fun night, have some drinks, get a little tipsy, and maybe find a cute guy or girl to snag for the evening. She had thrown on one of her favorite dresses, along with killer heels and her TARDIS necklace that she almost never took off (yes, even while clubbing, she still felt the need to declare her fangirl nature). Her hair was pulled back in a wavy ponytail, and her sly blue eyes sparkled under a heavy layer of bronze eyeshadow. If she didn't catch anyone's attention tonight, she would be surprised.

She strode into the club and immediately made her way to the bar, ordering a cocktail to get the night started. While waiting for her order to arrive, she glanced around, checking out tonight's specimens. There were quite a few attractive people around, but one sitting a few chairs down almost immediately caught her attention. Letting a wicked grin cross her face, she grabbed her drink and moved over until she sat beside her guy of choice, making it obvious she was checking him out under his tight shirt. "Well well well, if it isn't the handsome Jacky," she greeted him, winking playfully. "What's a guy like you doing alone here tonight?" She was quite aware of what he was doing, but she wanted to see what his answer would be. She had hooked up with Jack before, and would gladly do so again, if he hadn't already made up his mind about who he would be chasing after tonight. She leaned against the bar, taking a sip of her drink as she gazed at him with heavy-lidded eyes.

Having downed his first shot of tequila, he ordered another and scoped the bar a bit, looking for a lonely girl sipping a margarita. His eyes settled on one, but the voice that came from behind him distracted him. It was familiar, strangely so considering they’d only ever ‘hung out’ a couple times. Then again, he was fairly good at remembering the good ones *wink wink*. After all how could he not when she shot off fireworks? Hot babe + fireworks = damn good time in Jack’s world. It also helped hearing the nickname considering she was the only girl that called him that ever. It wasn’t exactly his favorite, but he’d get over it quickly.

Jack smirked and glanced out of the corner of his eye, noticing the way she eyed him. “Same thing you’re doing babe. Looks like we’re both looking for some fun,” He said as he flipped the shot glass bottoms up. The bartender brought him another and he kept his eyes on the girl next to him. His mind wandered a bit to when they’d first met each other, similar setting, both out with someone completely uninteresting. Jack was a womanizer by nature, he came with one girl and left with another more often than not. That night it had been Charlie he left with, and in his opinion it ended a lot more fun than it would have if he’d stayed with the other girl. Too clingy for his taste.

“Do you dance? Or are you just here for the booze?” Jack asked as he tipped his third shot down his throat. A couple more and he’d be tripping over his own feet on the dance floor. As the bartender went to fill the glass, Jack waved him off. Surprising for someone who usually liked to drink a full bottle if he could afford it. He wanted to at least dance a little bit before making a total fool of himself though. And he couldn’t do that if he was drunk or on the brink of being wasted.

Charlie continued to sip on her own drink, noticing how quickly Jack was downing shots. "Careful tiger, I don't want you to be completely wasted before the night's over," she teased him. "It won't be nearly as fun if you're passed out." Charlie rarely went after people that weren't meta; she found most of them extremely dull compared to people with abilities, considering hooking up could be a lot more.... Interesting, if your person of interest had, say, disjointed flexibility or super endurance. Nonetheless, Jack could put on a good show, and he didn't mind her ability. In fact, Charlie thought he quite liked it. Fortunately for both of them, neither were of the clingy nature and she knew they could have a good time with no strings attached. Just the way she liked it.

"Oh, I dance," she replied slyly, biting the straw between her teeth before setting the drink back on the table. "I can't say I've had a lot of practice, but I catch on quickly. If nothing else, I can just fake my way through it. Why, are you looking for a partner?" She crossed one leg over the other, raising an eyebrow and smirking with the corner of her mouth. "You could teach me a few moves. And then we can get drunk off our asses. What do you say?"

At the teasing, Jack snorted. “I’m no light-weight. I’m fairly sure that I can handle my drinks just fine thank you, but you’re probably right. I should slow down a bit.” He rested his elbow on the bar and watched her. Had he not known her before this, he’d never have known she was a meta. Hell, the first time he met Braxton he was clueless. And of course Brax used that to his advantage to screw around with Jack. At least Ethan was normal like him, otherwise he’d have two schemers that were capable of messing with him in ways that were completely unfair.

When she said she danced, he brightened up a bit. Good, he’d found a girl who he could actually dance with without feeling like he was dancing with a very clumsy giraffe of sorts. “Don’t worry, I’m no expert. I’m fairly good at bull-shitting my way through most dances,” He said with a smirk. In fact, that was what he did all the time. Throw in a few flashy moves here and there and everyone thought he was actually a hardcore dancer. “That sounds just fine with me. Though, I’m pretty sure I could totally out drink you after we dance. Just pointing that out,” Jack smirked and set his shot down on the bar. He offered her his hand and smirked, “Shall we?”

Charlie laughed. "I'm just teasing. I know you can handle your liquor." He had in the past; she could speak from experience. Of course, they always did end up quite drunk by the time they got home, but that didn't make things any less fun...

"Bull-shitting is a good way to put it," she agreed. "Improvisation is my specialty. Just you wait and see, soon everyone in here will wish they were as sexy and talented as us." Finishing off her drink, she took his hand, copying his smirk. "I'm sure you can. I'm not exactly a lightweight, but well... It doesn't take much to get me to do stupid things." Well really, she did stupid things sober too, but that was irrelevant.

She tapped her chin, looking around for the best place to dance. She spotted a place a little towards the center of the room, at an open area surrounded by a few other half-heartedly dancing people. "Oh come on, let's show those morons how to really dance," she grinned, tugging Jack's hand lightly before walking towards the area. She tugged up the top of her dress as she walked (really, this dress was probably meant for someone with less going on in the chest area, but she didn't care, she thought she looked hot in it anyway), and blew kisses at anyone who looked her way. Oh yes, this was going to be fun. She just hoped she wouldn't trip in her ridiculous (but sexy) heels. "Ready?" she asked, whirling around and and grinning at Jack.
