Lani would be rather furious to learn that. He sometimes felt that when he left her in his parents care that something like this would happen but it didn’t make hearing it any easier. He couldn’t stop thinking about what it would be like if he had been there. But at least their parents had the experience of one meta human child that they probably freaked out a little bit less when Caroline’s power appeared. It made him feel a little guilty that he hadn’t visited more often. He should have seen that coming and he should have been there for her. Lani squeezed his fists for a brief moment before he forced them open to avoid his anger being noticed. It wasn’t their parents fault really, they really tried, and admittedly they had a very independent son who preferred less rather than more attention. It was hard when the siblings were polar opposites.
Lani smiled, he was so relieved that Odion and Caroline were getting along. He wasn’t really sure what he would have done if they didn’t get along but oh well, better not to worry about something that didn’t exist. But worry Lani did. Sure a twelve year old girl wouldn’t prove too difficult, but it was her telekinetic brother that one had to watch out for if they crossed her. Lani shook the thoughts away and focused on the trick. He glanced at Odion wondering which trick he would go for. He replaced the card in the deck and was determined to figure out how it worked and so he kept a careful watch on the cards but kept his power at bay so it didn’t ruin the trick in its attempt to follow the card. His eyes flickered from the cards to Odion’s eyes, the blue oceans that gave nothing away. Not even a hint. No Lani was not going to learn the card tricks today or perhaps any day.
Catching the glimpse of mischief in Odion’s eyes Lani jumped a little when the cards scattered everywhere. He couldn’t help the little chuckle that came out his throat. “Very nice, Odion,” Lani said his voice dripping sarcasm, “Absolutely…” He stopped what he was saying when Odion’s shock changed to that clever grin he got when he knew he had pulled the wool over someone’s eyes. Lani sighed knowing he had been tricked again. Lani looked at the cards and seeing just one face up he had a feeling that that was indeed the card he had drawn and the one Caroline had seen. His power reached out and like a mental pair of hands he knew it was the one he had been trying to keep an eye on.
Lani looked at Caroline waiting for her to answer. Lani’s eyes went to Odion giving the redhead an annoyed look. Lani sighed and shook his head at the redhead. "Ah, that's no fair," he complained, "Unless you're wrong," Lani raised his brow at Odion then. He sincerely doubted that the card was wrong. In fact he was almost certain all that was waiting was the verification. Though in reality it would be rather easy for him. He could go Matilda on it and create a card dance. He smile that crept onto his face showed he was not overly concerned about the result of the right card. Really Lani was just complaining to complain it was not a big deal. He stretched out his power over the cards ready to snap them into a neat pile and into his hand in a moment. He wouldn't even have to bat an eye.
