After nearly getting caught by a teacher a few weeks ago, Ulrich decided it was time to get back to shooting his slingshot in the courtyard like he used to do after classes were over for the day. It was his favorite hobby and the closest he could get to shooting a gun in school without actually shooting one, which is what he much rather be doing that launching marbles at empty soda cans. But most schools had no tolerance for guns on campus, and Hammel was no exception. In his mind, if all the students were armed, the school would be a much safer place.
Luckily, he's not the one making all the laws.
He left to dorm as quickly as he could and grabbed everything he needed. He slipped on a warm jacket with fake black leather on the outside and fake tan colored fur on the inside. It was one of his favorites for when temperatures started to drop in the winter months. In addition to the camo sweatpants he wore, his outfit looked quite messy. It didn't match at all, but then again, he never cared too much about his appearance.
Walking outside, shivers went down his spine. It was chilly, and a small blanket of snow covered the ground from when it fell earlier in the day. The afternoon sun was still in the sky, but it provided little warmth and several cloud were blocking it. The wind was blowing a little more than usual, but Ulrich was not concerned. He knew how to adjust his aim accordingly.
Ulrich set his cans up on the same bench he always set them up on, the same bench that has been known for allowing his marbles to ricochet at people. He figured it wouldn't happen again. The last few times were "lucky" shots. Odds were against it. They had to be.
He moved back a fair distance, turned around, and took aim with a marble already loaded in his slingshot. And after taking a few moments to adjust his aim, he let the marble fly. Just as he expected it to, it slammed into the can he aimed at. However, it also ricocheted off the bench and flew in the direction of someone who just so happened to be walking by... again...
Déjà vu anyone?
