Powers: Feline Appearance - Lyn has a the appearance of a humanoid cat, much to her chagrin. The species is Otocolobus manul, or the Pallas cat, and is a species of wild cat from Central Asia. Her body is covered with long, thick white-silver fur and her skeletal structure is a unique combination of human and feline with bent back legs and shorter than average fingers with claws, as well as a tail and small triangular ears. This form is semi-permanent and allows her some heightened senses as well as excellent night vision. She can shift in and out of this form at will, though it is acutely painful.

Side effects of this include having a predator mentality, various animal cravings, impulses to clean herself regularly, and shedding fur all year round. She also cannot reproduce and needs to be have check-ups by both veterinarian and doctor, as this form is the more natural one that she has as a human.

Any Scars? The only one visible is on her right forearm - claw marks from a training session with a shapeshifter. All the others are hidden under her fur or clothes and cannot be seen without close inspection.

General Appearance: Lyn is a small woman, approximately 5' 3" and weighing in a little over 120lbs. She's fairly thin, and though she keeps up with her exercise and hunting, her muscles from her youth are starting to dwindle. She's not as curvy as she used to be, though, nor as lithe; much more streamlined with her aging and a slower metabolism means a healthier diet. When in a human form, she looks like a very commanding woman with lots of presence, and the years have not been terribly kind to her in terms of lines on her face (though that could also be because of the stresses of being a criminal prosecutor).

Lyn's power also gives her a form that is mostly feline in appearance - the general terminology is "anthropomorphic". In this form, her legs are bent backwards in a suggestively feline shape, and she has a two foot long tail descending from her tailbone. Her hands are mostly human, though her fingertips have pads and her nails retract and extend as claws. Her face is the second-most feline thing about her (aside from her legs), and has a very wild appearance. Ever seen Cats? Kind of like that, only real. Her fur at its longest is about two inches long, though her "mane" is a bit longer at four inches.

When she can, Lyn prefers to be in her cat-like form as it feels the most comfortable. However, when she leaves her home or is at work, she must dress and act as human as possible - Lyn is a lawyer so she must look respectable. She tends to wear grey tweed suits and suit dresses, even when she isn't in court, and when in human form wears slip-on flats for easy removal when she changes. In her feline form, she keeps her fur neat and brushes it several times a day to prevent shedding.

Personality: As her power might suggest, Lyn is a strong woman with a very keen eye for details. She makes snap judgments of people upon first meeting and tends to stick by those perceptions unless proven wrong. Size doesn't seem to frighten her at all, and people threatening her tend to be brought down to size with either a sharp tongue or a sharper claw. She is bold and mostly fearless, refusing to back down from a fight unless it's in her best interest to do so.

She tends to suffer from terrible mood swings, however rather than being from menopause it's simply because of her feline nature. She's not easy to sneak up on but startles explosively, and often it will take a good strong cup of tea on bad days just to calm her down enough to deal with people. Her temperament can switch from affectionate to guarded in a split-second, and she is viciously territorial and protective of her home and loved ones. Mostly, she can keep herself under control, but she stays away from most things in the mint family just in case.

As a general person, Lyn tends to come off as someone's grandmother - generally kind and well-meaning, but stern and strict in her rules and boundaries. She will just as quickly let a small child scratch her ears as she will swat an adult trying to get too close. Very much a dual personality, she struggles to keep many of her urges under control and is deeply hurt by the fact that she never had the chance to have children. She tends to spoil little ones because of this as well.

Weaknesses: Staying awake during the day, holding her tongue when she wants to speak her mind, following friendly advice, mint of any kind

Fears: Losing herself to her animal instincts, dying alone, being swayed by pheromone manipulators to do something she'll regret

Secret: She doesn't particularly like most psychics and has very strong shields on her thoughts to prevent telepaths or empaths from affecting her mind. These are mostly just thought walls, but those few psychics close to her are able to slip over them with relatively little difficulty.

History

Amberlyn Rosalie Ivchenko-Lewis came from a middle-class family in Boston, having a paralegal for a father and a Russian/Ukrainian translator for a mother. Her powers manifested at twelve with a bit of an uproar, but when the recruiters came her parents were still reluctant to have her go. She was their only daughter, after all. Under the assurances that she would be cared for and able to return home for holidays, as well as have visitors during the school year, the couple let her go on to Hammel.

Once at the school, Lyn had to keep her temper much more in check, despite the fact that people kept underestimating her. She fought tooth and nail to be recognized as a human being and not an animal to her classmates, and even verbally sparred with teachers to prove the point. It was a months before she made any real progress towards being social, and it all began with her new roommate Maggie Donovan. The girl had been just so sweet and kind that (despite her spitfire personality) Lyn had warmed up to her and began being more friendly towards people. From that day on, the two were close friends, even to the point where the feline had allowed the girl to pet her when she was feeling down.

A few years later, Maggie met and began dating another student by the name of Sean Patrick Neville. At first, Lyn didn't much like him and fairly consistently got underfoot whenever he visited her and Maggie's dorm room. She was wary of him surely, and she'd heard a rumor or two that he could erase a person's memory with ease which made her more than a little worried about being around him. However, Maggie was her friend and she didn't want to leave her alone, either. Eventually, she managed to warm up to the tall teen and even stayed amiable towards him after the inevitable breakup years down the road. It had been mutual, and there was very little in the way of emotional pain, even with how serious things were in those days.

Despite having graduated a year behind the two of them, Lyn still came out ahead of other students her age and graduated from Hammel in 1976, moving on to attend school in New York for a criminal justice education. The treatment of metahumans as a whole bothered her, but it was the lack of "her people" in the inner workings of the legal system that bothered her more. She studied hard, earned her BS in Legal Studies, and graduated from John Jay with high marks in 1981. She even took the bar exam that year. Despite this, it was almost two years before she managed to find work in the DA's office as a petty crimes prosecutor, and often times her cases were handed off because the attorneys stated that she "frightened their clients".

By forcing herself to endure, however, Lyn managed to successfully try more cases than anyone in her department. She made many close allies with the New York PD, and people began to see that she wasn't just a wild animal in a suit; she was a human being with wit, intelligence, charm, and drive.

During this time, Lyn remained close with Maggie Donovan, even to the point where she was there for the birth of her children and spoiled the pipsqueaks consistently. When they eventually grew up and moved on with their lives, she kept track of them and helped them with their own legal troubles, helping them with college expenses and keeping their mother company. However, as time grew longer and Lyn older, she realized that the younger generation was stepping forward in the bustling city and decided to make a long visit back to Boston to see her parents. However, considering that Boston didn't seem to want to hire her and had an influx of problems at the time, she only stayed for a brief sabbatical before deciding to move somewhere a little less hectic.

Pilot Ridge wasn't her first choice, but it felt right when she finally bought her home there. She now works for the local DA on a number of cases and has recently been seeing a certain civil rights lawyer around more and more often. She's also heard that Sean still lives in the area and works at Hammel, and the fondness that remains in her memories is slowly pushing her to become reacquainted with those from her younger years.

Two small notes that aren’t enough to hold up the app. The first being that in the power description it says her feline-likeness is permanent, but also says that she can shift. Just make sure you take out the permanent part to make sure people (meaning me ) don’t get confused please and thank you. Second, Judi Dench is nearly 80. So be careful about what pictures you use.
