The Basics
Name: Bradley Alexander Reeves
Nicknames: Absolutely not. Bradley is very particular about people not calling him Brad. Only people who are very, very close to him can get by with it sometimes.
Age: 44
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Hammel Music Teacher
Powers: Omni-linguism– Bradley has the ability to speak and understand any human language without needing to study or practice them. Although Bradley was raised speaking English and that’s what he usually speaks, he slips into other languages from time to time without realizing it. Or he may start out a sentence in French, switch to Japanese half-way through, and end up in Swahili. He doesn’t even realize that he has done it until he sees the confused looks on others’ faces. Sometimes he gets stuck with a certain accent from time to time, or just gets completely tongue-tied. Play By: David Hyde-Pierce
The Details
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Any Piercings? He pierced his left ear when after graduating high school, but hasn’t worn anything in it since so it’s closed up.
Any Tattoos? None
Any Scars? Nothing more major than a few chicken pox scars.
General Appearance: Being germaphobic, Bradley keeps a very neat, clean, and orderly appearance. Add on the fact that he’s very self-conscious and you’ve got a man who spends a great deal of time in front of the mirror every morning. He’s hardly ever seen dressed in anything other than a suit and tie, even when he’s not a work. He feels it makes him look classy. During the day, he’s constantly straightening his tie, wiping off his glasses, or otherwise checking to make sure he’s still spick and span. He also never leaves his apartment without Purell hand sanitizer and a packet of moist towelettes in his pocket.
Bradley has a very animated face. Although he’s often embarrassed by it, he makes a lot of odd expressions. He just can’t help it. Even though he’s insecure, Bradley forced himself to walk with self-confidence. He’s very poised and never slumps as he walks, or slouches in a chair. At least when he’s paying attention. He tries to control his body movements and positions to keep up a stately outward appearance. Although, as mentioned his facial movements tend to get away from him.
Personality: Bradley worries a lot about what other people think about him. He tries his best to avoid making enemies. Partly because he wouldn’t be much good in a physical fight. Partly because he feels it makes him look bad to be surrounded by people who dislike him. But he tries not to go out of his way to please just anyone. However just because he’s not arguing with someone to their face doesn’t mean that he thinks everyone is wonderful. Instead he keeps his thought to himself, which leads to him being passive aggressive or blowing up over something little.
Bradley is a major neat freak and very controlling of his own personal environment and routine. From his record collection (group by genre, then alphabetized) to his toothpaste (bottom shelf of the medicine cabinet, end carefully folded up); in his apartment, everything has a place and is perfectly organized. And he will defiantly notice if someone has moved anything. Or not be able to sleep if he thinks there may be a dust bunny lurking in the corner somewhere. Although he can stand other people’s disordered messes, for short periods of time at least, don’t be surprised if he starts lining up your pens and pencils by height and color if you leave him alone in your office. Or start tiding up your living room if you invite him over for dinner.
The ironic thing about Bradley is that although he worries constantly about putting on the appearance of a well-cultured, intelligent, good-mannered man; that’s actually who he is. Still because of his insecurities, Bradley is unable to see the person his is. Instead he sees his flaws and a person he wish he could become.
Although Bradley has good control over his power, he tends to forget that he has it most of the time. It’s only when he slips up in what language he should be speaking, which happens more when he’s tired or stressed, that he really notices it.

History
Bradley’s parents thought they were well past diaper changing and 1am feedings since their youngest daughter was in fifth grade. And then Bradley came along. His mother still refers to the birth of her son as a “happy accident”. Although Bradley was an unplanned pregnancy that does not mean that he was ever un-wanted. His father had always wanted a son and his mother was obsessed with him since day one. Added to that, his sisters enjoyed having a new toy to play with. Bradley spent a majority of his toddler years dressed up in various outfits and pushed around in a baby stroller. Needless to say, Bradley was a bit spoiled growing up. And he adored the attention.
Bradley grew up in a very nurturing and protective environment. His mother was the type to have a plate of cookies waiting for him when he got home from school. Although she tried her best to keep Bradley sheltered from the outside world, his sisters did their part to keep him informed of everything she didn’t. His father, a partner in a law office, spent a lot of time at the office but made to sure to make time for his son when he could. Still as Bradley reached puberty he started to feel insecure outside of the comfort of his own home. To attempt to deal with this Bradley started to become a tad OCD. He wouldn’t leave the house in the morning unless he looked just right in the mirror. He would spend hours re-writing his homework assignments so that his handwriting looked perfect.
And then his powers manifested, sending Bradley into another world it seemed. He was petrified to leave his family behind and go to Hammel. After a month of living in the dorms, Bradley’s father found a job in the Pilot Ridge area and his family moved close by. Being able to return to his family at the end of the day allowed Bradley to be a little more relaxed around Hammel. Although he still worried slipping into another language in front of his peers, or otherwise looking like a fool, Bradley was able to make friends and learn to control his power.
After graduation, Bradley went to college to study for a degree in music. During Thanksgiving break of his freshman year, his sister Adrianne invited him over to have a serious talk. Bradley was worried that she would tell him their mother had some sort of disease or some other horrible news. Instead she sat him down to talk about his sexuality. Although Bradley had a few “girlfriends” during his time at Hammel, he was never serious with any of them. During their talk his sister told Bradley she was pretty sure he was gay. At first he was confused, but by the end of their chat he came to agree with her. In the long run it was helpful for him to recognize how he felt and be able to talk about it. The two still joke about how she “dragged him out of the closet.”
He did some traveling around the globe for a while, before settling back down in Pilot Ridge. It was were he felt comfortable, with his family close by. It also helped that he knew the ins and outs of the town. He worked as a private piano teacher for a while and then as the local high school band teacher. A few years ago, he made the switch to work at Hammel instead. He made the switch mainly because the administration at his old school refused to adhere to his personal cleanliness standards for the band room, but it also helped that Hammel had recently purchased a new grand piano for their music room.
