There's stuff happening at Hammel! And we're going to tell you about it!
UPDATES
First, the staff team would like to welcome our newest members, Sean and Cuppy. Sean has taken over advertising duties for the site, and Cuppy as joined as a global mod. Please try not to set things on fire when they're around.
We have revised the site rules! Most of the changes were grammatical and streamlining, but there are some new additions. Please read them.
We want to overhaul some other documents as well, so we need your help. Go to this suggestion thread to suggest some changes we can make to make the sign-up process easier.
Time to update your trackers! Dryope and Tony did an archive run today, and archived all threads that had gone over a month without a post. As always, you can PM staff to have a thread reinstated. (And the archive run took much shorter this time, so the archiving-as-completed system seems to be working great!)
Probards is rolling out their newest update, slowly but surely. Hammel will be upgraded to Proboards v5 in the next few months. There will be some changes with it, specifically with the way accounts are handled. All your accounts will be linked together, so you only need to log in once, and then you can switch easily from account to account. We'll give you more information when we get closer to the upgrade.
SITE EVENTS
Our December challenges are up, and we already have some entries! This month's graphic challenge is to create a monochrome graphic. The writing challenge is to write a story set entirely outside in the snow.
Alex has organized a story exchange! If you want to write a story for someone, and have a story written for you, check it out! You have until Dec. 14 to sign up.
In character events are happening too! Adults are welcome to come to the annual Pilot Ridge Holiday Bash, and the students are having a snow war!
FINAL NOTES
We're rapidly approaching Hammel's third year online. We've grown into a large and active community, one that staff is proud of. In order to keep our title of "basically drama-free", we all need to remember a few things. First, if something happens In-Character, it should not affect how members are treated Out-of-Character. Hammel is a game, and it's here so everyone can enjoy it. If you're ever uncomfortable with something, please come to staff. We can handle issues impartially.
And, as always, if you have any suggestions for events, challenges, or anything else, let us know!
Thank you for your time, and from the Hammel Staff Team, Happy Holidays!
-Tony, Mads, Raena, Dryope, Cuppy, and Sean
