Ami-Lynn Rose, Jude Shepherd, Connor Sharp, and Michael Arceneaux have been recruited to pack canned goods for a Thanksgiving food drive.

Packing canned goods for a Thanksgiving good drive is something that people do for a good cause right? Right!

It's fun right? Wrong!

Packing canned goods is boring as hell and can actually become quite a laborious task once boxes start filling up and start getting heavy. They turn into a pain to move around. The desire to help out the disadvantages for Thanksgiving suddenly evolved from something he was happy doing to something he wanted to escape from.

He tried his hardset to stay positive and even tried to entertain himself by reading all the strangely-named ingredients on the labels, but eventually, nothing seemed to be able to keep him satisfied.

Michael was bored and wanted to find something fun to do... and then an idea hit him. "Hey, who wants to make a can castle?!"

Volunteering for a Thanksgiving food drive was not something he would have actively participated in. Add in a few people he had no idea of, and it could be one of his top three worst nightmares. He disliked people...at best.

But he decided, if this meant people who normally couldn't get food would actually have something to eat on Thanksgiving, maybe he should be a little less selfish and swallow his pride to do this.

Who knew, maybe it wouldn't be such a disasterous ordeal.

One could hope for miracles.

And as he set up a system that allowed him to not do much heavy lifting, Jude actually got into it. But when one of the volunteers Jude recognised as his Math classmate suggested they do something ridiculous, he frowned and shook his head. He wasn't going to make this an even bigger deal than it was. What benefit would they get from a can castle?

"Maybe you should just continue packing the cans like we were supposed to." He said a little grumpily.

Ami-Lynn worked as quickly and efficiently as she could. It wasn't that she was rushing to go anywhere or to get the job done, it was just the way Ami-Lynn was. Quick and efficient, or at least that's how she thought she was.

Listening in on the two boys there with her, Ami-Lynn smiled softly and gently shook her head as she chuckled at the boy's comment. 'A can castle?' She thought to herself as she continued packing items away, 'What are we 5?'

Quietly, she packed some cans away, and attempted to move the box onto the floor. 'Holy shit, this is HEAVY!' Ami-Lynn thought to herself as she struggled to place the box down. Finally she lost grip of the box, and it landed with a loud crash. "Oh my goodness!" Ami-Lynn squeaked as she ran around trying to pick up the run away cans.

"I'm-so-sorry!" She spoke quickly as she chased a can around, "It's-just-so-heavy!"

"Well, you guys are no fun," Michael said before groaning. He rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders, and decided to build his castle of cans anyway. "Fine then. I'll do it on my own. Be sure to refer to me as King Michael from now on, okay?" He was obviously joking, but it would be nice if one of them played along (even if they currently seemed to grumpy to do so).

For starters, he began forming a foundation on the ground with the bigger cans in the shape of a large square. He then began forming up the four walls by stacking smaller cans on top of each other, and before long, his castle was evolving into something that looked remotely recognizable. He also added a few towers in to give it a more medieval feel.

And then came a large crash.

Michael jumped, yes, jumped to his feet with fear. He then looked around to see that Ami-Lynn had dropped a heavy box of cans. He tried to hold back his laughter, but he couldn't.

"You scared the shit out of me," he said as he took a deep breath and began gathering the fallen cans. "Try not to bite off more than you can chew next time. You nearly gave me a heart attack!"

He managed not to roll his eyes too much at Michael's response to his answer as he continued to pack the cans. There were still a lot more things around for him to do which was why he couldn't waste much time entertaining the other boy.

Jude wasn't a pyschic. He couldn't see things before they happened but just as he turned to find the girl struggling with her box, he cleared his throat to say something. But he was a little too late as the cans dropped to the floor with a loud clang.

Wincing, he couldn't help seeing the other boy jump and a little chuckle erupted from his throat. Barely audible but given Jude's nature, it was an eruption.

With a little hesitation, he got up and helped them both, gathering the cans and placing them close to the box so the girl didn't have to do that much work with it.

"You...uh...want me to help you with carrying that?" He asked the girl, his voice naturally rough, even though he was trying to be nice.
