Settling Right In (Avi)

Jared had finished unpacking and finally had his space set up the way he liked it. So far he had managed to completely miss his roommates completely, so the only thing he knew about them was based off of the pictures he had seen around as he unpacked. He had spent the last day or two adjusting his sleep schedule as well and that played into his ability to meet his roommates. He looked over his work and decided he was satisfied. He grabbed his black overcoat and put it on, grabbing his scarf and gloves as well as he left the dorms.

Reaching into his pocket he took out a coin and started flipping it through his knuckles as he walked. The distraction to his hands was quite welcome. He was still a pickpocket after all and it would be a real shame to be caught before he even started. He hadn't made a huge effort to see anyone after his first day in America but he certainly had gotten on well with those he had met. He made his way across the grounds, his breath hanging in the air behind him. The frost on the trees was almost enough to convince him to stay outside and enjoy the winter air but the wind quickly convinced him otherwise.

Jared entered the student lounge and stripped his jacket off revealing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans. He hung up his jacket and rubbed his hands together to warm them. It would have been a beautiful day without the wind. He however had no problem getting to know people over a game of pool or just by lounging on a couch. He looked around the lounge to see if there was anyone there that interested him. Sure enough he recognized a blonde girl from the pictures in the dorm room. He put on his game face and walked over to her.

"Hey! I'm Jared I'm pretty sure you're one of my new roommates, I saw you in some of the pictures while I unpacked." He said, she certainly wasn't hard on the eyes. Eyeing the nearby pool table he smirked. Pool happened to be on the list of things Jared Bell was rather good at. "Care for a game of pool so I can have the chance to get to know you a bit? I'm a pretty good player just a heads up if you accept." He wasn't being cocky; no he was just giving her a warning. What would she be able to tell him about the school and his roommates? There was a lot he had to learn and get up to speed with but that never had discouraged him in the past.

[Avinea Jale]

It was a normal thing for Avi to be int he student lounge. She didn't really spend a lot of time in her room anymore. Instead she was out, exercising or in class. On the rare occasion she was in the student lounge watching television. It was fun to be sure. She always had it on the food channel. Some of the things that were made just made Avi want to drool. Especially when shows like sweet genius came on. That was her favorite show, or one of them anyway.

Anyway, she had been sitting in the room, just sort of zoning out, as the small breeze came up and caught her hair. It was enough that she was able to even sit here. Avi had somehow made it onto merit roll, she wasn't an honors student, by any chance but all As and two B's weren't all that bad, if she did say so herself. For her it was more fun to be in math. She was even looking into the local colleges, rather then going back to her hometown. She really wasn't sure what she was going to do.

She only barely glanced up when the other person came into the room. She was more intent on finishing her braid instead. She thought it completed her outfit well. She had chosen one of her Panda cropped shirts, and skinny jeans, accompanied with the blue she loved in not only her earrings but her necklace and nails as well. When she was done she gave the person a smile as he seemed to be coming towards her. She didn't know him, did she? She was sure she would remember that attitude ad confidence of his if she had known him. It reminded him of her the way that he carried himself.

When he started to talk to her Avi gave a grin and tilted her head. "So your the one who is taking up my old closet." It was meant as a joke and she knew he would know that. She at least hoped he would get that much about her at least. "I'm Avinea Jale, but call me Avi, its easier." She hated that her name was hard to pronounce for most people, darn her parents for naming her that. Oh well, it was all good. He certainly seemed friendly enough. Besides, he wasn't hard on the eyes either. "Fine, but I'm letting you know I've never played a game of pool in my life.I'll try anything once though." That mentality had certainly gotten her into quite a few scrapes, but they were for the better and she regretted none of them. "You gonna teach me?" Avi gave a smirk looking the other up and down. "Lets see what you can do." Standing she made her way over to the pool table and held one of the sticks out to him. "Well?"

Just based off of the way she looked Jared had the feeling that she would be fun to get to know. "Pretty large closet. You're not some kind of shopaholic are you?" He asked with a smirk. He could joke around with the best of them, something Avi would learn very quickly about her new roommate. "I would agree, I feel god awful messing up stranger's names." Jared said with a laugh. He probably could have pronounced it right after a few tries but he wasn't going to offend anyone today, not on purpose anyways.

Jared adjusted his shirt and answered with a smile. "Oh, I'll teach you how to handle a couple of balls and a pool cue." Innuendos were a thing of beauty if executed appropriately, and he had done this one just right. If she really had never played though he wouldn't mind showing her how. "As for pool, well I'll teach you that as well." He said with a laugh. If she couldn't tell he was joking around that would be too bad.

Walking up to the table he grabbed the rack and started quickly putting the balls in. "We'll play flukes seen as how it's your first time." He said as he grabbed a cue and broke. The clack of the balls striking one another had always been satisfying to Jared. "The biggest thing is finding a way to hold a cue that makes you feel comfortable, the rest is all a game of angles." He said to her as he leaned against the wall to watch how she shot. If her form wasn't good he would be sure to help her. She had asked to see what he could do, and Jared Bell never let anyone think he was anything less than impressive.

Being who he was Jared noticed a purse on the ground near the pool table with what looked like something fairly shiny in it. He licked his lips without thinking about it and decided it would be best to wait to make his move. For now he would keep playing pool. He at least knew what would be in the table's pockets.
