It was time to start thinking more - optimistically. Well really, what did Rayne have to be bummed about? He just spent Christmas in the UK which was awesome, who knew that the Brits had all the right fashion and trends on a continuously updated rate!? But more important like that, he was starting his senior year at Hammel. It was really exciting, he didn't know how he could be bummed. Sure, his boyfriend completely broke up with him not two months ago and yet the thought of looking at the thousand dollar rollex and the idea of superheroes portrayed on teen-underwear makes him want to punch a wall continuously. But he had a big year a head of him. It was exciting really. He spent the last year continuously just trying to fit in that little bit more. But Rayne saw himself as a new man. It was time to stop hiding. He loved to sing, he loves to perform and he wants to make the most out of maybe the final year he has at Hammel. To make new friends, to try his best and figure out what he is going to do in twelve months from now. Scary right? The scariest thing though right now had nothing to do with his future, but the nagging thing at his present. Fun superpowers that just being there are making his life a living hell.
Keep in mind that he has gained a fair bit of control over them. Except for the emotions thing, seriously when he heard that the Secret Circle was cancelled last year he blew up a vintage lamp of his mothers. But sure, he had the little mishaps here and there. Seriously, what student at this school doesn't? But the headaches. He doesn't even have to use his powers for them to happen anymore, they just do. When he is sleeping, eating, studying or even watching TV. Three pain-killers do the trick, but using his powers is always necessary in order to keep making sure they don't go out of control. I know what you're thinking, why doesn't he tell someone at the school. Because it is his senior year, and he wants to leave with his class and not have to stay behind because moving things with his mind is causing earthquakes in his brain! But something that does help, and distracts him, and what he is excited about; Hammel's Choir Club. He was excited like many, so walking into the choir room he was getting ready. Talk about enthusiastic!
With pink-rimmed glasses on his face, he hung them on his v-neck collar and then looked down at the piano. He had practicised this song all Christmas and New Years, and not to mention had three noise complaints from the neighbours in Brit-ville, but he had it down pat. It was an new year with new beginings; and new songs to sing. Pressing the keys, and even though he was by himself, Rayne sang 'Dark Side'. It was a nice song, and a powerful song. It was one that could dull the mind-splitting pain in his head. What fun it is to be meta when you feel like you're head is dying half the time. Like for reals! Singing the song, pressing the keys to yet another one of his acoustic songs, he played out as much as he could before - he didn't know, maybe go unpack? He did just come back this morning and this of course was the first thing he did. It might seem weird to you, but it couldn't be more normal for Rayne.
