This is a great idea, Em, she told herself, This is exactly the way your friend the Invisible Man died, Em. Remember HG Wells, Em? Are you going to turn into a giant invisible praying mantis and fight a giant robot if you survive this, Em? Or maybe talk to giant metallic men who will shoot you with eye lasers? You do know those fictional invisible people are dead for a reason, right? And then she thought, Shush. It'll be good for me and maybe I'll make some friends.

Regardless of her internal narrative's concerns, Emily had made up her mind: she was going to romp around in the snow. Invisibly. She had to admit she did want to make footprints appear and maybe-just maybe- hurl a snowball at someone, and she hadn't worked up the courage to ask for a permission slip to see the library yet. This could only end well.

So on went the boots, several layers of winter gear, and a snug hat. Shortly after, she faded from view, leaving behind a floating wardrobe which soon vanished with her.

Trampling on as little of the fresh snow as possible, she made her way to the pond, pushed the snow off a bench, and sat down, dimly remembering that she had intended to socialize. Or at least scare people.

"Should have brought a book."

She sat still and waited, no more than a snowflake-covered silhouette and a trail of footprints suggesting someone walked up to the bench, brushed the snow off, and either vanished or tiptoed back on their own footprints.
