Since they’d discovered that somehow the impossible was true, Vincent and Fifi had been cursing their lives.
Brendan was pregnant. That alone was… scary and horrifying and confusing enough. But add the fact that two of the one of the parents was barely legal, one had the mentality of a mentally handicap dog, and the third didn’t hold a stable job? AND it was twins?! Things around the apartment were high stress all the time.
Oh and not to mention Brendan’s new high and mighty attitude that accompanied the pregnancy. He acted as if he were royalty. Some kind of… supreme-being. As if he was always right and simply because he was pregnant whatever he said should be law.
Vincent had attempted a joke, calling him ‘Queen Brendan’. Lets just say, the tantrum that ensued, while eye-roll inducing, got the desired outcome of it not happening again.
Still though, there were a few people Brendan yielded his attitude to. The main person being his grandmother. She simply refused to accept anybody acting in such a way and that included Brendan. A simple look from her and he would check his pregnant ways at the door. So Vincent was more than willing to jump at the chance to have lunch with her and catch a break from his majesty. But suspected he’d pay for it when lunch ran long.
Like a number of parents preparing for the ultimate plunge of becoming parents, Brendan had signed himself up for Lamaze classes. He’d expressed to Fifi that her attendance would be greatly appreciated, though he didn’t want to hinder her schedule. Vincent on the other hand? HE was responsible, so his attendance was mandatory and his behavior better be impeccable.
The room was already semi-full. Which annoyed Brendan to no end. With a sigh, he ran a hand over his baby bump. “I told you. If we’d just left when IIII wanted to, we’d have the good mats at the front of the class.” As he spoke, Brendan shot a look that was a cross between annoyance and unadulterated rage at not having been listened to.
Never mind the fact that Vincent was pregnant too.
