The Basics
Name: Ginny Martha Campbell
Nicknames:Gin, Pop Tart and Blondie(thank you, fellow engineering students)
Age: 19
Orientation: Demisexual. As for romantic orientation, she has definitely had crushes on boys. Her lack of (much) sexual interest is confusing for her, though, so she's not sure if it counts as a romantic crush when she really wants to spend a lot of time with cute girls. So bi-romantic? Pan-romantic? Hetero-romantic? She hasn't figured it out yet.
Desired Rank/Job: Vagabond (aka occasional visiting relative)
Powers: Does being a smart-alec count? No? Are you sure?
Play By: Brie Larson
The Details
Hair Color:Blonde
Eye Color:Brown
Any Piercings? She has pierced ears but she rarely wears earrings because finding nickle free jewelry is a pain
Any Tattoos?Nope!
Any Scars?Nothing outside the usual marks and scars that come with living.
General Appearance:
Ginny looks like a very average young girl, slightly taller than normal at 5'7" thought not quite tall enough to be considered unusual. Her blonde hair is highlighted to be a lighter color than it is naturally and reaches below her shoulders. She's slim both from diet and exercise and while she wouldn't want to gain weight she sometimes envies her curvier peers. She feels that her bust size is entirely inadequate, regardless of how many times her mother tells her she's average or her bustier friends inform her that the back pain isn't worth it.
She keeps her make up low-key, favoring an almost natural look with just enough color to make it obvious that she is made up. She tries to be well-groomed, which means regular trips to the beauty salon for waxing and mani-pedis. While she's not one for unnatural tanning solutions she's not particularly pale, either, as she spends a great deal of her time outdoors and in the sun -- she finds that a lack of sunlight leads to moodiness on her part.
Her outfits tend to be just on the edge of alternative but not outlandish enough to be considered abnormal. Most of the jewelry she wears is plastic of some variety, as that fits in well with the slightly funky style she prefers while having the added benefit of not giving her a rash. She has to be quite careful with buttons and zippers touching her skin, as well.
Personality: Despite her blonde hair and normal appearance Ginny Campbell does not fit the stereotype of the dumb blonde. Both her parents and Peter always encouraged her to apply herself in school and took care to repudiate any notion that girls were unsuitable for math and science because of gender. Her gender did not excuse her from performing well in school and it did not excuse her from serious thought or from expressing her own opinions. The idea that, as a girl, she should hold back because she might intimidate the boys is one that she simply cannot abide.
This has resulted in a strong independent streak, which is very positive in some respects -- for instance, she hasn't had any trouble adjusting to life at college, away from her family -- but can be very negative in others -- particularly when situations arise where she feels vulnerable. Admitting that she needs the help of others is anathema to her. Reliance upon others is, in her mind, a sign of failure and she expects both herself -- and, to a lesser extent, others -- to stand on their own, without asking for help.
She isn't a naturally patient person except with children and has a tendency toward snark, particularly when she believes someone is not operating at full capacity. However, she also is rarely overtly hostile toward others unless they express hostility first and will tone down her sarcasm when dealing with people she honestly thinks can't handle it. She prefers to avoid those people, however, as she finds that level of sensitivity to be extremely frustrating.
She has a great deal of excess energy and unless she's invested in a task that is mentally engaging to her (coding problems, complex mathematical equations, etc) then she has difficulty sitting still. Boredom is quite bad for her, as it usually results in mischief. It isn't that she means to be bad but she needs to be entertained, and she is willing to go with any option that promises immediate amusement regardless of how the people around her may feel about it.
In fact, while she's quite outgoing she is not particularly empathetic; she's protective of her family and has a strong loyal streak but her ability to put herself in other people's shoes and understand where they are coming from emotionally is lacking somewhat.

History
Ginny was the result of a drunken fling between James Campbell and Lucy Ritter and was, therefore, the reason for their short-lived marriage. The two followed in the grand tradition started by James' parents but failed at maintaining their relationship after James was 'recruited' by the Hammel Institute, due to Lucy's suspicions that James was having an affair coupled with her fear that her husband's inability to control his powers (she didn't really understand exactly what his powers entailed) would result in harm to their daughter.
Her mother quickly found a new spouse in Peter Gigliotti, which was quite a relief because being a single mother had never been part of her plans. As Lucy and Peter married when Ginny was only 4 she can barely remember life without him and never had that awkward period of trying to figure out her relationship with him. They never had any children together, though Ginny doesn't know if this is because Peter can't have any or if they didn't want any. Regardless, as an only child she was doted over by both her biological parents and her step-father, and all sets of grandparents they brought with them.
Ginny was raised by her mother and Peter in central New York, close to Lucy's parents as well as to most of the Campbell brood. She always did well in school, particularly in subjects that involved formulae; the liberal arts classes came with less ease, but she took pride in being an Honor Roll student and thus worked to achieve that status. Her life never revolved entirely around schoolwork, however; she joined the track and field team in High School and while she was never one of the star athletes she did well enough to stay on. And, of course, she was always surrounded by other people -- both family and friends.
Visits to her father in Vermont were never as frequent as she would have liked but they were always fun. True, her father was frequently occupied with work and his OCD tendencies occasionally lead to arguments but he was still her father. She spent most major holidays with him, as holidays were a Huge Deal in the Campbell household, much more so than in either the Ritter or Gigliotti. It wasn't a problem for her mother and step-father to push celebrating Christmas or Thanksgiving back a few days -- or even a week -- and once Ginny was old enough to understand just how much importance her biological father's side of the family put on holidays she insisted on never missing a holiday with them. After all, it was important to have all the family gathered together! And besides, the Campbells knew how to put on a feast like nobody else. Lucy and Peter preferred a more casual approach to holidays, treating them almost like any other day of the week in most respects. Ginny sometimes wonders if perhaps, had her biological parents not divorced early on, holidays would have resulted in a divorce anyway. Her mother certainly doesn't share her father's enthusiasm.
When she was in high school she discovered that her father was gay and living with his boyfriend. She was shocked -- and also slightly annoyed that the rest of the family wasn't -- but after meeting with Chase she determined that not only did he make her father happy but that he would continue doing so and so she gave her approval, for what that was worth. In return she was the only family member invited to their small, intimate wedding.
Her father and his husband have been fostering 9-yr-old Niko and are considering adoption. Ginny is thrilled by this, because she adores Niko and would love to have a sibling. A real sibling, not a foster one who could change homes at any moment.
She is now attending the University of Vermont as a freshman and is thus far enjoying herself immensely. Her dorm mate is a little weird, and drunken frat boys area bitextremely obnoxious, but she loves her professors, her classes interest her (for the most part) and she's made a ton of friends -- including another freshman whose younger sister attends Hammel. Of course that means plenty of weekend road trips for the two of them to visit their respective family members. So all in all life is good and she can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings -- especially if she acquires a sibling in time for Christmas. (Santa, are you listening?)
