Odion knew surprises killed Lani. And it was in that that Lani nearly lost his mind. So Lani huffed letting Odion know he was not happy with the unknown surrounding the mysterious thing. A thing that Lani might be able to sneak a peek at if he tried. His eyes flashed and a small smile on his lips made him look rather fiendish. With this he playfully made as if to snap at Odion’s finger and laughed a little. “Fine.” No Lani was not letting this go. Not at all. He just now knew he needed to be sneaky about it. Lani didn’t think there wouldn’t be many exciting things to share. They had a lot of years ahead of them and they had a lot of years behind them. Even the smallest detail could have been of the greatest importance or interest.
It was the heart sharing that Lani got confused with. Was there room enough in his heart for Odion and his family and Adrianna and other friends he had made here? Well Odion had stolen it so whatever he had left was a small portion that allowed him to function independently and maybe that was room enough for everyone else. When Odion was here with him he never felt more complete. He felt as though his heart beat stronger and his mind worked both sharper and slower. Sometimes moments like this were so amazing because they didn’t have any thoughts to cause them to over think. That had always been their problem. Over thinking and assuming things were not as they appeared. Why couldn’t it be simple. Lani loved Odion, Odion loved Lani. End of story. But it wasn’t there were so many twists and turns and challenges. It was exhausting.
Lani rested on hand over his chest and the other on one of Odion’s hands. “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.” He didn’t want Odion to worry but at this rate his burn was never going to heal from all of the abuse it was being subject to. He glared down at it for a moment, it had ruined a wonderful moment. Lani figured he should probably reapply that salve on it and wrap it up again but he really didn’t’ want to move. Lani looked up at Odion and smiled. “Thanks, definitely the most memorable birthday I’ve had in a long time.” He laughed lightly and poked at the area around the bandage. Yeah this needed to change. As did his hands, now that he thought about it and watched the bandages droop a little bit. “You know that moment where you go back and laugh at something stupid you’ve done?” Lani asked suddenly sliding off of the couch and onto his feet. He looked at his hands. “Yeah, I’m still waiting for it. I’ve gotta fix these, I’ll be back.” Lani turned and traveled into his room. He wasn’t quite sure why he hadn’t told Odion just to follow him. But the burns looked bad, just didn’t feel as bad as they looked.
