How long had it been since she left the confines of her dorm room? Weeks, months? It felt like forever. Carter was gone, Jackson had a life, even Lani wasn't any fun to bug anymore. What was the world coming to? She'd gone from social butterfly freak to spunky hermit that never felt the desire to go anywhere. It was a wonder she even dressed herself. What was the point when she didn't have anyone to show off for except herself? Sure it was clean and whatever, but that didn't mean she had to do it.
It wasn't until she got a random phone call from what she'd always thought was more of a casual dating guy that she even bothered dolling herself up. Granted, Les was actually a pretty good friend of hers, but they'd met over some set up date and it turned out being sort of a bust. Not because Jace didn't think he was gorgeous and modelesque, but more because she was hung up on someone else at the time and she couldn't really get her mind off of him when he was still so close. That was until he up and ditched out on her. God knew where he went.
Either way, she was glad to have gained a decent friend out of it and who knew, maybe he'd pull her out of her slump. He wouldn't even be able to tell she was in a slump when he saw her though. The way she looked was like a million bucks. Well, a million bucks that was dressed for a picnic. Only she would wear something so fashionable and so completely irrational to a picnic. But hey, it was a way of expression and as an artist, she felt the need to express.
Upon walking out of the dorm building, she spotted his car and climbed in with a bright smile on her face, "Hey Les!"
